I'm all for a 3rd party candidates and I even voted for Nader in '04, except for name recognition, I hope his run doesn't go anywhere as I think there are other 3rd party candidates out there who carry a better message than Nader this time around. He should be putting his support behind THEM instead of mucking up the waters himself. With nothing new to offer, he starts to give people who support him (even me) a bad taste. I WILL vote for who I see is the best candidate, whatever party it is.

What I want to know is WHY NADER is NOT running as a Green Party candidate? Did he decide that Cynthia McKinney would be too strong of a challenger and bump him as a the party candidate? Personally, I am hoping McKinney is successful for the Green Party candidacy. Too bad Nader didn't decide to finish sticking it out in the Green Party. She could have knocked him out of the running. NOW, for those desiring a 3rd party candidate, she has to run against him. Oh well, may the best win!

I won't blame Nader for Gore losing the 2000 presidential election, but I will use your tactic to suggest something to expand upon:

What has President Bush accomplished relative to me? I'd say that I've accomplished more by doing nothing to affect the world since I was 12 than Bush did during that interval.

First, I'm not a democrat, so they don't have my vote no matter what. Second, I think there are better ways to go about "winning in the end." Third, by tactical I meant your critique of my accomplishments. Fourth, no democrat is preventing a third party candidate from running. Finally, the only way to make third-party candidacy plausible is to amend the system, which I support. Immanuel Kant said that rule of the majority is despotism. We need to rebalance the weights of our system.

He may have sounded shaky answering the Florida question but if you read Greg Palast's book on the election (Best Democracy Money can By), he fully backs up Nader's accusations towards the Katherine Hariss' Florida vote manipulation and completely spells it out in the book.
