I remember when I was introduced to PoPs. You were on the 2nd episode, but I started on the 1st ( even though you told me not to ) I still very very much enjoyed the 1st episode, and the episodes just kept on getting better better.
After watching PoPS, I was really excited to see where this was headed. I'm a massive nerd when it comes to superheros. I love seeing how things are coming, no matter the pace. (The pace is actually a refreshing change. I'm so used to things being done instantly.) And another slightly less important factor, is that I think you're an attractive person.
I started watching Pops a few weeks ago. Once I hit the point of no episodes, I watched an update, then another, and another, until I'd watched almost all of them. Oh, and watching your editing is like a week of my life in time lapse, the difference: I'm writing, you're being productive and making something we're all looking forward to. :)
I came with the wheezy waiter crowd, watched the episodes, liked it, and then since the most recent videos on the channel were updates I started watching those too. Now I always look forward to them.
well I came when weezy waiter told me to. and then I never came back until he told me again... then it really started sinking in what you have on your hands! #1 this is an amazing web-series #2 you are amazing to be doing this with so little help (though I know you have much more now) #3 you are talented #4 I love making movies and when I saw these updates I realized you could help me out with my stuff by learning from stuff you go through. :D
I've started watching the updates to get more background information about the actors and a little bit about the production process since I wanted to know why it takes so damn long to produce an episode.
But what I got was entertaining enough especially nice to learn more about film making. (not that I want to make videos) And lately I can feel that you got used to the vlog thing. It's get funnier to watch IMHO
I watch the updates because, like Craig said in the very first one, it's a good way to stay informed and keep the interest in the show going. I really think that I wouldn't appreciate PoPS as much without the updates. You've done a really good job of allowing us to get to know you and the other people involved with PoPS more than other web-shows do, which makes it really fun. Watching the time-lapse, it's obvious how hard you work to make PoPS so amazing. Thanks :)

And I started watching the updates because I just watch my subscriptions religiously, i don't miss anything that the people I'm subscribed to put up. Also, I still have it in my teenaged pile of ideas to do a short film, and hearing how you guys do PoPS is really helpful and good for ideas and all that.

I love answering the questions every week and feeling like a particiapant in the conversation. I also like seeing all the work you put into it, it makes me more connected to the show and I enjoy it more when I finally see it.
Mostly it because of your bearded compadre I got into PoPS. I got into the updates because I'm always fascinated by the film making process and I'm always down to hear low budget techniques.
Watching the updates is kind of like asking a magician to reveal his trick to you. You know it'll ruin the magic, but you're DYING to know how it works. The difference, however, is that due to the lack of spoilers, the backstage "magic" is revealed but nothing is spoiled.
I watched PoPS because of wheezywaiter and I watched the updates because I am intrigued how things are made. I always learn something from these updates. Thanks you, Jake.

I started watching the updates because I was already subscribed for the series and I was interested in the process and the insights and the humor the updates provide. I like seeing what's happening behind the scenes. Plus Jake is in them. And Eliza. That doesn't hurt.
I love information and it makes me care more about the episodes now that I feel like I have gotten to know you and the rest of the cast better, I find the show funnier because it feels more like I am watching my friends than just actors in a show and that is why I will continue to watch these updates and the series!
I too was sent here by Wheezy and after I had finished watching all the episodes, I subbed. I started watching the updates cuz they popped up in my sub box, and just watching them gets me really excited for the next episode. Why did I start watching the updates? The correct question wold be: why didn't I stop. I'm one of the Wheezy recruits, so that's why I started. I subbed when ep 3 (maybe?) was coming out, so after that was done, I was surprised/somewhat annoyed by the updates, but then I got to like Jake's style after all. Cool screen saver btw

I started watching the updates because it's really interesting.. Even though I've never really edited any video or tried to I like seeing how it's done and how complicated it is to do all that stuff! To me, it's like watching the discovery channel show "How it's done" and that's one of my favorite show! I enjoy the updates almost as much as the real show! and definitely appreciate the show more having seen the updates I think
The updates are entertaining, educational, and really makes the time fly. Prior to watching the updates, I, in all my impatient glory, did not fully comprehend the amount of time and energy it takes to create a single episode and got frustrated from lack of continuation. I was bored one day and started watching the updates and it was probably the best decision I made. Now, I can't believe we are already coming up to episode 5! Now, not only does POPS have a fan, but you personally do as well.
I started watching the updates to get a better idea of what you put into each episode and to get a little behind the scenes preview of what is coming and when. I have a better appreciation now for what u do and what u put into it. Thank u for the quality entertainment u provide.
I started watching POPS because of Wheezy, and after returning a couple of times, only to find that episode 5 hadn't been uploaded yet, I figured I could watch some of the latter updates.
I watch because I like to know how things are going and also you are funny. In other words, I don't mind listening to you tell me things. It's interesting.
I watch because I want to know how you're going with the episode and, though they're not really meant to be, the updates are pretty funny and entertaining. They're enjoyable to watch because you're a nice guy and they give some really interesting information about how these types of episodes are made sometimes.

And I'm like a lot of other folks, I came because of Wheezy. I respect Craig a lot as a YouTuber and as a person i seem to share similar tastes with. I've even watched some F*cked in Space because of Carlyn. :D
I watch for inspiration. Ever since I saw The NEW Adventures of Captain S (Another awesome web series done by PBC Productions) I've wanted to make my own superhero show. Can't tell you how many times I've rewritten the first script. But I feel like it's starting to come together nicly. There's this place near where i live called, Little Hollywood Ohio (a film group), and I was thinking of contacting them when I finish the first script.
I came over because Wheezy Waiter suggested it. I came back to figure just what you were talking about. I stayed because you are sharing how you do this. I like the series, but I am a maker type girl, and after I saw the film of your Dad making the art, I knew I might keep on seeing the awesome. Your personality is refreshing and cool, and I feel like doing something after I watch you. Yeah you're inspirational. And you're from the U.P.
I watch the updates because I've always been a Special Features-watcher. I like watching behind the scenes stuff, and you have a likable personality. :)

i watch the updates for the same reason a watch any vlogger, its a (mostly onesidded) conversation i would have with a person i think i would genuinely talk to in person if i met them. i would probs watch the updates even if the eps didnt exist, though each new installment is the highlight of my youtube experience
the first time i watched one it was between ep 3 and 4... i just HAD to know when the next ep was going to come out so i went to the updates because i thought it would tell me... and it did, but not as much as i had hoped for. (i didnt realize how hard it would be to say exactly how far you were in production) Why did i continue to watch? well i found that you were really funny so i started from the first update and just kept on watching. ;)
The other web series that I majorly watch is Chad Vader. I watch these updates so I can basically be updated. How many episodes do you plan on making.

Ever thought about running IOgraph while making a timelapse of 14 hours? would be cool to see the endresult of that after so long using premiere/after effects/whatever you use.
@pineappleboyfilms it records the movement your mouse by drawing a line in a seperate window. when you pause your mouse, a circle grows on the spot etc. I can't give you a link, but google for iograph and click the first link (iographica)

I thought you were (are) entertaining. It is like watching an expectant mother, bearing your big belly full of hopes and dreams and shotlists and scripts before you, then the messy, beautiful moment when your show comes into being screaming. Then the next week, you are preggo again.
i 'dicsovered' pops some time after episode 3 (from craig) so after watching all the episodes and clicking subscribe i decided to watch the first few updates, i thought it was pretty cool to see the behind the scenes stuff. i keep watching now because i'm interested in your progress towards the next episode, and because they come up on my youtube homepage at the same time every week, for some reason consistency makes me want to watch the video more...

I subscribed for the episodes (obviously) and then one day there was an update in my subscription box so I clicked on it and... I don't remember the rest. I can only assume Jake sucked me in with his charm, or superpowers.
I watch the updates because I like to be able to tell the characters in the show apart from the real people, and their separate personalities. And to further appreciate the effort that is put into PoPS by those people, and the people who you never see, all of whom become more than a face on a screen. They become human beings with goals and experiences, likes and dislikes, to which you can relate.
WheezyWaiter got me here initially for an episode of PoPS, and i only started to watch the updates, honestly, because they showed up in my sub box! As for now, i actually look forward to all of it, because i've fallen in love with the work that you do behind the scenes. it intrigues me. and as someone who is trying to chip away at the block of creativity and knowledge of such things in the world, this is fantastic. its like a director's commentary without the movie getting in the way! lol
Well I think you know this one, I work in the Film indestry and the fact that you manage to make a 30+min Video ever 6 months or so is one of the most inspiring things i have ever seen.
On that note i just warped on a short 5 day shoot where i was a ALM. Moving up in the world and i have to say it was SO much fun.

I've done lighting and sound for years, for school productions etc. I love knowing the ways different effects are achieved, and because I know how much effort goes into creating what you see on the screen. You show us that, and that's pretty sweet :)

Well I learned about PoPs in it's first episode, from of course, WheezyWaiter. I only watched they episodes but when Wheezy said something about you guys burning the Nazi Flag, so I IF COURSE had to check it out. So I did, and realized that the updates are very interesting and give me something to do on my boring Sunday. :)

At first I was watched the updates because I wanted to know when the next episode will be coming out, then I saw you showing us how production works and I was intrigued. Then when you started talking about other things, I noticed I was still interested because you are, to put it simply, an interesting, creative person who makes interesting, creative things. @pineappleboyfilms Lol! I think he's too pretty to be Roland. I honestly don't know who'd make a good Roland. But I think Hugh Laurie's got the right eyes for it. That's about it.
At first I was pretty bored and didn't really watch them, but then I saw some that talked a lot about filming and I was like 'oh, this is actually really cool, it's like behind the scenes! And I learn stuff about camera and filming, and those of the such'. And then...it got fun to watch! Hahaha, I'm not even sure why anymore, it's fun to know what's going on and to answer questions, I suppose.
I watch the updates so that I know how long it is till the next one comes out, yet it's not JUST that, it's also that I like to see how dedicated you are to POPS and how much of your time you give to it. It's kind of amazing for me really, because I can NEVER commit to anything, which therefore makes this so weird to watch... seeing as you're so commited...
Because out of the 238 subscriptions I have, not that many put out regular content, you are one of the channels who do, and I enjoy watching your updates.

Generally speaking, if something makes it into my subscription box I watch it unless I have a reason not to. Now I watch the updates because I genuinely enjoy them, even if I don't do anything film or editing wise.
Originally I watched them to learn about filmmaking, but now I'm not sure why I watch them...probably because I still get a good sense of what it's like to make films on YouTube.
I dont know why I originally started, probably because I was curious... But I continued because I like the look behind the scenes and I like having something in between episodes to keep me interested/excited and not forget about it. I also really like that you do questions for each video and are really involved in what the commenters have to say :)

My mind cannot comprehend how you spent so long editing at one general time, lol. I have a little ADHD, so I can only edit for a little while before jumping to one of three or four other things I have going on.
I started watching th updates, like most people I assume, because I wanted to know how the episode was coming along.
I started LOVING the updates in between ep. 3 and 4 when you went into detail about all the aspects of film making. I never realized how much work goes into making these episodes and learning about the process made me look forward to the updates almost as much as the episodes themselves.
I started watching because Wheezy led me to PoPs and then I was so sad when i had to wait for each episode, so these updates keep me going.
But also because Jake has started to become a little bit of a crush for me. But it's like a respect-crush, or a brain-crush. Mostly because you're awesome but also because I love your wife too.
i started watching these because i'm really interested how it all works and comes together ultimitaly. I actually learned alot about films and film making watching these and you've been a great inspiration in my life. So thanks :)

I started watching the updates because I was already subscribed for the series and I was interested in the process and the insights and the humor the updates provide. I like seeing what's happening behind the scenes. Plus Jake is in them. And Eliza. That doesn't hurt.

I love information and it makes me care more about the episodes now that I feel like I have gotten to know you and the rest of the cast better, I find the show funnier because it feels more like I am watching my friends than just actors in a show and that is why I will continue to watch these updates and the series!

I too was sent here by Wheezy and after I had finished watching all the episodes, I subbed. I started watching the updates cuz they popped up in my sub box, and just watching them gets me really excited for the next episode. Plus, I really enjoy that you make them so I'm not sitting here like "ITS BEEN 6 MONTHS WHERE IS THE NEXT EPISODE?!" but I can actually see the work you're putting into it.

Why did I start watching the updates? The correct question wold be: why didn't I stop. I'm one of the Wheezy recruits, so that's why I started. I subbed when ep 3 (maybe?) was coming out, so after that was done, I was surprised/somewhat annoyed by the updates, but then I got to like Jake's style after all. Cool screen saver btw

To me, it's like watching the discovery channel show "How it's done" and that's one of my favorite show! The updates are entertaining, educational, and really makes the time fly. Prior to watching the updates, I, in all my impatient glory, did not fully comprehend the amount of time and energy it takes to create a single episode and got frustrated from lack of continuation. I was bored one day and started watching the updates and it was probably the best decision I made. Now, I can't believe we are already coming up to episode 5! Now, not only does POPS have a fan, but you personally do as well.

I watch for inspiration. Ever since I saw The NEW Adventures of Captain S (Another awesome web series done by PBC Productions) I've wanted to make my own superhero show. Can't tell you how many times I've rewritten the first script. But I feel like it's starting to come together nicly. There's this place near where i live called, Little Hollywood Ohio (a film group), and I was thinking of contacting them when I finish the first script.

the first time i watched one it was between ep 3 and 4... i just HAD to know when the next ep was going to come out so i went to the updates because i thought it would tell me... and it did, but not as much as i had hoped for. (i didnt realize how hard it would be to say exactly how far you were in production) Why did i continue to watch? well i found that you were really funny so i started from the first update and just kept on watching. ;)

I watch the updates because I like to be able to tell the characters in the show apart from the real people, and their separate personalities. And to further appreciate the effort that is put into PoPS by those people, and the people who you never see, all of whom become more than a face on a screen. They become human beings with goals and experiences, likes and dislikes, to which you can relate.

As for now, i actually look forward to all of it, because i've fallen in love with the work that you do behind the scenes. it intrigues me. and as someone who is trying to chip away at the block of creativity and knowledge of such things in the world, this is fantastic. its like a director's commentary without the movie getting in the way! lol

Well I think you know this one, I work in the Film indestry and the fact that you manage to make a 30+min Video ever 6 months or so is one of the most inspiring things i have ever seen.
On that note i just warped on a short 5 day shoot where i was a ALM. Moving up in the world and i have to say it was SO much fun.

I've done lighting and sound for years, for school productions etc. I love knowing the ways different effects are achieved, and because I know how much effort goes into creating what you see on the screen. You show us that, and that's pretty sweet :)

I only watched they episodes but when Wheezy said something about you guys burning the Nazi Flag, so I IF COURSE had to check it out. And I learn stuff about camera and filming, and those of the such'. And then...it got fun to watch! I really respect the way PoPS is written, filmed, acted, edited, etc. Getting a peek into the talented and creative brains behind it all is a treat and I continue to enjoy them because you are so down-to-earth and honest about it all. Generally speaking, if something makes it into my subscription box I watch it unless I have a reason not to. I started LOVING the updates in between ep. 3 and 4 when you went into detail about all the aspects of film making. I never realized how much work goes into making these episodes and learning about the process made me look forward to the updates almost as much as the episodes themselves.
