Lars, at least back then, literally was the most 'metal as fuck' drummer out there. He never was 'technically' the best, but his attitude was second to none and his drive and speed was phenomenal. He is and probably always will be my favourite drummer. Rag on that fact as much as you like, but to me music isn't about ability, it'd about feel... and Lars had that in bucket loads.
