  • whats the title of the song?

  • I was only able to pick three musicians.

Joe Hisaishi, Koji Kondo, and Akira Yamaoko- I could listen to nothing but their music.

  • That was definitely the first time I've ever watched a video all the way through without skipping to the "good" parts. It was all good, man.

  • favorite hayao miyazaki movie ever

  • HERMOSA SIMPLEMENTE HERMOSA :´)

  • toaching movie :')

  • that is a good movie

  • That drop in tune at 2:50 makes me want to cry every time I hear it, no matter when

  • it is sad how it ends in the manga ;_;

the movie is just a part of the manga.

  • All of Miyazaki's films are masterpieces in my opinion, but Nausicaa is one of my all time favorites. It might be because of Moebius's touch. The perfect pairing. The music has a lot to do with it also. Makes me cry every time.

  • @Verokomo

It does have moebius's touch and have you seen Avatar by James Cameron? Cameron borrowed alot from movies/comics/books especially Ghibli's movies and this is one of the inspirations. There are some similarities to Avatar in this movie like Sci-fi/fantasy with unique worlds, unbreathable air, similar jungle of toxic, masks, the Na'Vi village being like the Tromeikians scene and the ending is a homage to the same ending used in Nausicaa.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Very true. You just made me realize this. I had never made the connection before but now it seems very clear. I don't blame him for being inspired by it. It would be hard not to! :)

I thought Avatar was nice but... even with the similarities, it doesn't quite compare to Nausicaa. ^ ^

  • @Verokomo

Cameron is a fan of animation, adult animation, anime, Ghibli, Euro-animation, Sci-fi/fantasy novels/books and more. He made a combination of Nausicaa, Last of the Mohicans, Heavy Metal, Ferngully, Castle in The Sky (a.k.a. Laputa), Willow, Aliens, My Neighbor Totoro, Fantastic Planet, Wizards, Princess Mononoke, Dune, Atlantis The Lost Empire, Starchaser Legend of Orin and Star Wars in one tasty cocktail and did borrowed from those as well.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Tasty indeed! Sounds like my kind of drink. :)

  • @Verokomo

Did you ever watch this movie as New World Picture's original dub called Warriors of the Wind as a kid? I did when i was 4 years old about 25 years ago and left an impression on me for it became my childhood favorite animated movie when i rented it as i fell in love with it and got it for christmas that year, Zandra (aka Nausicaa) made me like girls at that age and i also taped it on a blank tape with other things as i was obsessed with this movie and would even watch it on HBO

  • @Johnlindsey289 Nop, never saw that version, but i did stumble on the poster not too long ago. I wondered what that was all about. Thought maybe it was just a prototype poster for the US. I think it's funny how it was all 'westernized'. :) I'm very curious to see it actually! Thanks for pointing that out.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Since were in this conversation, i thought i'd ask... Have you ever heard of the hero's journey? (Made popular by Joseph Campbell) .. All the movies you named earlier seems to follow this idea. I thought it might interest you.

  • @Verokomo

Yes i have read it, major Sci-fi fantasy fan here. Have you seen Warriors of the Wind?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Thought so. :)

No, i didn't see it yet, but i would like to. I'm definitely gonna try to get my hands on it.

  • 好きだから弾く、それでいいと思うが。

  • Why does Chinese litter the low quality imitation all over the world?

  • Even when you listen to the song it sounds like the wind is is blowing in a few parts.

  • よくもここまで作品を侮辱できたものだ.小学校のブラスバンドだってこれほど酷くはない.聴衆がいることに理解できん.

  • @ykmgt よく言った。チンドンヤの方が100倍いい。

  • Listening to this song made me felt how powerful this movie influenced me. I suddenly remember all the images and felt a connection with the world of Naucisca. Its like I'm actually there, watching her journey.

    any one pls help ?

  • @HardBrokeKid2 : Most of the tracks you can't find in English. BUT, I have the OST and I-Tunes puts certain tracks in English 1) Opening 10) Resurrection of God Warrior 11) Requiem 12) Bird Person. The others I simply translated myself.

  • Outstanding , I love it in the 2:33

    I like the movie also

  • they used to have a series of miyazaki music conducted by joe hisaishi himself... it was beautiful... but it got taken down : (

  • man i wish i cud have been there

  • gosh they even played some of the notes wrong.

  • I really love this. Beautiful.

  • The film robs this tale of it's entirety. You truly cannot say you know the story of Miyazaki's Nausicaä until you've you experienced the story as a whole. Search out, and seek for the manga of a largely overlooked classic tale.

  • I saw it in waterstones a while back, but I had to pay for my son's birthday party. I'll have to see if they can still get it in.

  • The first couple of the volumes are more common place in stores that sell graphic novels. After that, you'll have to dig around the internet to completely find all seven chapters. Well worth the search.

  • @JaguarShark1013 the manga is so amazing! yay, someone who has read it! :D

its just.... really cool.you should all find it. im sure its scanlated somewhere, though there's a really well done printed version, which kept the japanese sound effects, and is in brown ink. :3 its very sugoi.

  • balls mate, these blokes only WISH they could sound as sharp as Hisaishi and his pose... bloody hell.

  • Beautiful. Helps me get to sleep :)

  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind .....fabulous

  • i feel peaceful...i dont think i spelled that right

  • What's the name of the song at 0:54 ?

  • This song is called 'Symphonio Poem ''Nausicaa''. It is not on the original Soundtrack, but on the album 'Works I' in a 17 minutes-version by Joe Hisaishi. Great stuff, because it's a stunning medley of the best tracks of the complete soundtrack

  • breathtaking...i LOVE that movie, one of my favorites

  • this is my favorite score from any movie ive ever seen. its so beautiful and subtle. its great

  • This music is so beautiful. I hope to be able to compose something as beautiful as this. I would really appreciate everyone looking at my musical achievements so far.

    Thank you so much!

    Kevin

  • i dont know why it like metroid music little bit japanese music. at teh last. (Joe Hisaishi and this ost) probably my favorite, i dont know why Japanese, they can take u in another world by music anime or games, they really rule.

  • what a beautiful song. This movie has changed me in the best of ways :)

  • I know it reminded me of the Lorax

  • sounds so....mysterious, a wind flyng past, a memory of 'spirited away'. A strange animal, a strange place.

  • thats deep dude

  • AWESOME XD

  • beautiful!! simply breathtaking!! ^^~

  • wow

  • ya lovely

  • I love the music from this movie, especially the one were Nausicaa sacrifices herself to save her music. Always makes me cry.

  • wha?

    her music?

    do you mean her valley?

  • I think he means the music that occurs when Nausicaa sacrifices herself.
