What's wrong with the great ideals of communism. Go check out Marx, Engels, Lenin for some great lessons as to solving the problems of capitalism. BTW, China's socialism provides great flexibility, enabling China to have many efficient governing mechanisms.

The Olympics have always been political. Was not the 1964 Tokyo Games which barred South Africa from taking part over apartheid political? Was the 1968 Mexico Games in which two black athletes raised their fists in a civil rights demonstration that captivated the world not political? Or the 1980 Moscow Games, which 64 nations boycotted over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, was it merely about sports? The Beijing Olympics will be no different.
I halfway agree. Oppressed countries need freedom but they should take it out on the government not the Olympics. My point of view is Let The Games Begin AND free Tibet.
It's really unfair of Tibet to take advantage of the Olympics to make China free them. I mean, it's a great honor for China and Tibet is spoiling it for them. If they want freedom find some other way. Taking advantage of the Olympics is just dirty.

I just bought the cartoon DVD. It is very informative about the Olympic movement and its history.

The 2016 Olympic bid host is good venue in Doha,Qatar or Tokyo,Japan
