It took me 6 years to get E-5, because my advancement rate was 4 percent, meaning only 4 percent of people who had my job were advanced every cycle. I saw plenty of peckerheads come in as an E-4, get E-5 automatically and so on. I went from E-1 up. Although, I was supervisor of my division as an E-3. It depends on a lot of factors. It took me 6 years to get E-5, because my advancement rate was 4 percent, meaning only 4 percent of people who had my job were advanced every cycle. I saw plenty of peckerheads come in as an E-4, get E-5 automatically and so on. I went from E-1 up. Although, I was supervisor of my division as an E-3. It depends on a lot of factors. Please, no matter what you're doing in November of 2012, get out and vote for Ron Paul. I hated him having to enter the Republican side of this thing in order to get a broader base, but he had to do something. Why? Cause the fucking Libertarian Party is so fucked up. Paul is the right man for this job right now. Legalize drugs to stop all the bullshit. Insert a 5% National Sales Tax and abolish the IRS. Stop ALL forgein aid/money for 4 years and make college and health care for everyone.

I support anyone who defends the country..but I don't and never will support forced military service. ppl might think that's a good thing and I've heard from a few veterans they'd like to see that done. But that's communism through and through. that's a labor force like anything else..and that is forced labor. period. ppl need to see what Emery's saying here. Capitalism is the only way to go period for economics with full regulation and no monopolies to keep the market free.

@justice79170 The recent economic collapse's causes are multifaceted and span several administrations, the loose lending policies that led to the collapse started with Carter, then continued with Clinton. Our federal government has been inflating capital bubbles to mask poor monetary policy for decades. The housing bubble is another example of how intervention on the part of gov't or semi-gov't agencies (Fannie & Freddie through encouraging poor loan origination) cause problems in the economy.

@saltcitystud Using your own views to be the yard stick for what any group of people "HATE"is very weak evidence. Paul, like other republican primary candidates has many great ideas and policies. The weaknesses come in the way certain policies are perceived without adequate understanding on whichever given subject. One of Paul's greatest strengths is adherence to the constitution, to me that has to be the ground we hold against the incumbent president.

So, what exactly makes Ermy such a "hero". He never served in a combat MOS and got out of the Corps on an early medical retirement as soon as he could. He never earned the title of "Gunny", but was awarded it as an honorary title for political reasons. He's an actor.
