in star wars episode 1, darth maul bleed a little after Obi Wan defeated him

in episode 2, everybody got cut by the blade and did not bleed, except for obi wan after dooku defeated him

in episode 3, nobody bleed after being cut by a lightsaber

in episode 4, a dude hu bullied luke bleed after being assualted by ben

in episode 5, the wampa kinda bleed after luke chopped its arm off

in episode 6, nobody bleed after being cut

It's sometimes. If you cut slowly, then the heat of the blade might seal your wound. But if you cut really really fast like Obiwan did, you're bound to leave some parts un"sealed" so.. That's my guess. xD

Thanks Alex, while filming it's a bit of a mind-fishcake to work out where the 'other me' is, but I'm one of those people who looks at something and imagines seeing it from other angles, which makes this kinda thing a lot easier! This was one of my first gore effects, so I'm glad you like it. I think I've improved since then, but that's open to interpretation, and possibly innoculation (not sure why)... Cheers m'dear!! Hey man, you can use Adobe After Effects or EffectsLab to rotoscope the lightsabers. It's kinda like doing an animation because you have to draw on most of the frames. You should try it man, it's great fun! Dan =:D

They were real lightsabers... Hehe. I actually use multiple editing programs including Adobe After Effects and Effects Lab to do the masking/split-screening for the doppelganger thing, then it's a matter of rotoscoping the lightsabers. Thank you SadFannie, he's actually just had surgery. They said he'll be fine because they see these kinds of injuries all the time... after sci fi genre fights. He'll be back for Psycho Dan V, even if he's still recovering. The worst that can happen is that he'll become a permanent two-piece suite, so it's worth the risk. No rest for the wicked.
