  • so i never would have thought to hike snowblocked roads ill be hitting some real soon about a week got the perfect spot picked, always learning something new from you everyday i involve myself in to tnp. thanks for makeing it happen. mike from oregon...

  • Priceless memories there bro! I bet it was amazing

  • You have such beautiful areas for these adventures, I'm glad to see you care about them and protect them.

Allie seems like a wonderful companion, I hope all is well with her.

  • Awesome series of videos. Keep the backpacking adventure videos coming. Btw... Did I seriously see the doc trekking in a 2 liter of fresca? Seriously?

  • R&G's and Gear Reviews are Knowledge and may fuel the mind, but these kind of Adventure videos are Inspirational and fuel the soul. Keep up the great work Nutn.

  • another great series nutn! Last winter was brutal here that is for sure!

  • Ron Paul 2012!

  • Thanks for the vids. as i have been preparing for a extreme extended trip i have found a lot of the reviews and information to be quite valuable. i have camped and packed and hunted all my life. but always way down here in the south. so where i am going way up north , will be totally new to me. so the information you have posted on many subject has been of great service , thank you keep them coming !

  • Anterior motives.

  • wow that dog looks really happY :D

  • Great video. Very good proof that cotton kills. Keep up the good work.

  • The cotton pants failed.

  • Those kids are so lucky to have someone like you to "show them the ropes" of outdoor survival. Very nice vid and I wish I was with y'all!

  • 10th Mountain Division stuff.....not for the "old man" there was a time though! Nice video. The Great Outdoors! Love it!

  • I love videos like these.

  • Hey Nutn, just want to say I really enjoy your adventures much more than the tabletops. I was waiting for the rest of this vid for awhile, thanks for putting it together. Your adventure concepts and editing are always top notch. This one reminds me of trips I did when I was young and with my youth group, without the snow. Please keep them coming!

  • Another great series. Thanks for the trip,

    Nate

  • This one of the main reasons i watch your vids Nutn' just an awesome series, inspiring and contain so many lessons and great ideas. Thank you Bro C and the lads for letting Nutn vid this adventure, Cheers Brother stay safe

  • thanx for posting all of these great vids. How did you like the Kelty Eagle? I've had my eye on it but your are the only person walking around with one. pros? cons? thanx again for posting all of these great videos!

  • heyy whats in the dogs pouches ? and how much does your pack weigh just off the top of your head?

enjoyed the video i learned a thing or too!

  • Comment removed

  • 8 people have never left their damn couch.

  • Do you have a review on that kelty eagle pack that you used on this trip. I looked and couldn't find one. Thinking about puchasing that pack for a bug out plus type of pack. Please let me know what the video is called. Thanks.

  • This was a great video. The fire pit looked awesome in the morning for that was pretty deep. That was some serious snow fall coming down was you were leaving. Thanks for bringing this vid to us.

  • To put it more clearly NutN'; I may have to use the tac and gun videos in my life some day... but the backpacking vids I use at least once a month. And my enjoyment of the great outdoors and passing skills and lessons I have learned from you, has increased 10 fold. Keep these vids commen, make more, do it more often as your time permits. These are the vids that keep me commen back, checken your channel weekly for more.

  • I think I speak for ALOT of guys when I say that though the run n' guns are great as well as the knife and gun reviews... its THESE videos; the packpacking vids that make the NutNfancy channel awsome. You mention in vid 2 of this series that you are not a true "survivalist" that preps for no gear at all, and I think that others will agree with me in saying that most of us are not eather. Keep these vids commen, they are the ones that I learn from and enjoy the most.

  • Dude I love these videos just as much if not more than your other vids, its like getting to be there with you and seeing things we dont get to see in urban enviroments!

  • that's not a skier,

    it's big foot

  • lol the fire pit

cool to see the depth your fire traveled

  • I agree with ajklum, I came for the gear reviews and I stayed for your back packing videos. Hell they inspired me and now I go on my adventures and shoot guns and collect knives. I owe you alot, and every time I comment on your videos I can't help but show my gratitude. Thank you again.

  • AWESOME! Great to see pre-surgery Alee!!!!! Hope to see her back to this post-surgery!!!

Maybe they should change the warning on tents like they have on kids toys. Most toys no longer say "Use only under adult supervision." they now read "Use only under competent supervision.". That's because there are so many INCOMETENT adults! So sad, yet so true.

  • Hey Nutn i love these vids they rock! keep up the great work. Its winter here (Australia) and im planning a 3 day hike like this so i love watching these.

  • Nice of you to take time out of your busy schedule , and give those youths that experience.

  • I for one love all your camping videos. Make more!! I'm learning more and more that most of the time you ":Get what you pay for". Get a quality tent and quality cold weather gear. I know money is tight for a lot of us but for these type of events it's worth it.

  • On my backcountry ski trips, I always put my boot liners inside my sleeping bag for about half an hour before I get out, it helps to start out warm.

  • Out of all your videos I love these type the most. I like sitting back and watching the whole thing. I felt like I was there with you guys, awesome trip.

  • I watch the camp videos on a lazy sunday evening. Feet up, yummy bev, ear buds and enjoy!

  • MY god i love your videos. I watch your backpacking, winter sense, level 2 first aid, and others to amp me up before backpacking, hiking, and camping trips. I'm very thankful of your videos and i'm i hope allies recovery is speedy one!

  • Wow! Love this stuff, keep it coming. So inspirational.

  • P.S. I was referring to the music at the very beginning and end. Thought the last compilation, with the piano, was great.

  • Had to forward past the hokey music, but the rest was great!

  • I second what everyone else has been saying. I've actually been waiting for Pt.3! Great stuff, Nut'n. We need more men to teach boys how to be men. Keep it up.

  • All the respect you deserve for giving these youngsters an experience they can build on.

As a dog lover and K9 myself trainer i love to see you interact with Allie...

    Keep up the good work.

    Patrick

  • Sorry to hear you weren't feeling the love for these videos. I love table tops and R&Gs but if I had to choose one aspect of TNP to see more of it would definitely be this. Friends, family, passing on valuable skills, having fun, adventuring, exploring the unfathomable natural world we live in.. hell what is life about if not those things?

I really hope you don't feel disheartened and keep on bringing us these vids, they are so great to watch, words cannot describe. Thanks Nutn, love live TNP!!

  • @Smith28Adventure I agree. I loved these video's. I've done camping like this myself and loved watching this. Keep'um comming nutn.

  • i love that dog! someone buy me a lab!

  • man i'd love to see this in real. good on u man for carrying out young ppl out for experiences such as this... half of my friends would not even consider going on a trip like this.... sad but true.

  • These videos are testament to the kind of person NUTN is and what he represents. He's out there mentoring a youth group on REAL theories and skills that could not only save your life, but WILL create memories for their lifetime. My hats off as always sir!! Great to see Allie out and rocking as well.

    OCTOS.................out.

  • such a sweet dog, if that was mine it probally would have ran away. great series loved it

  • "Oh! Did you guys hear that?"

    Classic! LOL!!!

  • as time goes on, youtube around six years old now, i find myself unsubscribing from stuff, just because it doesnt interest me anymore. last week i unsubscribed myself from the shaytards, simply because it didnt entertain me anymore. i just don't imagine a time anywhere in the future that i would unsubscribe from nutnfancy, because as educational and inspirational videos go, nutn just keeps going, like a great pair of boots getting plenty of use.

  • That's some good lookin' snow. Nice and powdery, great for skiing or snowmobiling. And not so bad for walking through, though not preferable. And Ally is so cute! I want her, lol. Good dog. As for dressing for winter, take it from a Canadian that layers are good. By the way, got a camera suggestion for you, check out the Go Pro camera, not sure if it would work for you, but it's a good camera to look at.

  • it finally came

  • I've been waiting for part three! I enjoy your wilderness vids, your "depussification" trips have motivated me to get out there with my kids!

    Keep it up and thanks!

  • I'm with everyone who has said that they love all your videos, but the adventure / camping videos are among my favorites. Great seeing Allie hiking too. Keep up your awesome work!

  • Nice job young men! You'll think about, and cherish the memories and experience you all shared... for your lifetime!

  • Nice video, really enjoyed it, we have No Nature like that here in Denmark.

  • Nice vid nutn. I'm glad that you decided to edit and release this whole series. It teaches me a lot that I will impart to my children.

  • @NeverQuitEver Thank you for watching! -- Veri

  • I waited a long time for this video. I really enjoyed seeing you getting out and practicing the skills you talk about in other videos. Its really special that you get out there and help the next generation learn the hard facts about survival and the great outdoors. Well done sir.

P.S. All the best to everyone's favorite mountain dog, Allie.

  • I was wondering where it was. Glad you got around to it.

I'm a warm weather camper, I'd bet half my gear would fail in the cold :-)

  • I was wondering where it was. Glad you got around to it.

  • north face gloves at 6:13 are AWSOME!

  • Suck it up is right! The only easy day was yesterday! One needs to declare their Independence from the weather. Can't let it stop you from doing stuff, life is too short!

  • Hey nutnfancy, What an excellent adventure to take these young men on. Learn some nature but mostly more about themselves. What a great two teachers they had too. As you know I just took up backpacking again. The last time was when Boy Scouts. I have learned many things from all your videos and from Cr0ckert20 since you two are friends. I will be doing a 3-4 day trip in the Rockies next April and May. I know it snows there then. I drove through there then 12 inches of snow on first day out.

  • I know this statement wont be really liked by many tnp folk, but I rarely watch the run and gun and the gun reviews. I watch the hiking related videos only. So PLZ keep em coming! FYI I got a busted ankle so on crutches for the next few weeks so living my hiking though the videos for the next few weeks. AWESOME VIDEOS!

  • Really liked this series also. Matter of fact, even though I have seen you use that Fenix flashlight before, it was watching this series that got me on the line to PFI and order me one (that defractor cap was a selling point to be sure).

I hope this goes a little way in letting you know you had viewers watching your latest backpacking adventure so keep up the good work out there.

Stay healthy and give Allie a skitch behind her ears for me. Darn good dog.

  • I have watched all your backpacking trips, and your gear reviews. This makes me so home sick, i'm in Texas but was born up in the north eastern area of New England, started looking for property in Colorado around the foot hills of the San Decristo Mountains just so me and my son can get out and enjoy these types of hikes. I love watching your videos you have a lot of helpful information so please keep them coming. Hope Allie the mountain dog is doing good, she is the star of the show.

  • Camping vids are my favorite! more please!

  • The adventure/backpacking videos are among my favorites. Keep them coming. They are quality and the time viewing them is very well spent.

  • i should agree with ajklum . Nutnfancy u have so few adventure vids compared to gear reviews and run'n guns that I have to keep watching them multiple times. I'd just love to do these hikes like you when I have the time and money for it. until then I just live with watchin your adventure videos. TNP rocks and so do the adventure and camping vids

    thanks :)

  • allie rocks!!!!

  • Nutin, your videos ROCK and you are a Top notch person (TNP)!!!! It is so good to see what you constantly give back Thanks

  • ★★★★★

  • Are you kidding me little feedback? Ppl should voice themselfs louder than. And 30% of my enjoyment of watching your videos is seeing Allie along for the adventure. I miss my dogs terribly and dream of having'em along on my excursions. You inspire me, and when in doubt upload your stray material anyway. I will watch it while waiting for the washer or what not. Keep up the good work!

  • It was good to see Dogness in action. How is she doing? I really miss liveing in Utah. Don't ever move.

  • Great Vid - Watching this reminds me of trips when I was younger.

WAY TO MAKE MEMORIES....keep impacting lives for the better

  • bear grills XD

  • I am an old Scoutmaster with many miles afoot/afloat with my sons. There are few things a man can do and be proud of than helping boys become men. Adventure is good for the soul and food for life.

  • nutn, in a vid a few weeks ago u mentioned you would be retiring from the air force in "2 Weeks". 1st, can we now start watching out for u to be running for an elected position over in ur gorgeous state? and 2nd, can u now make a vid to share your military experiences with us? nothing personal, something foundational like the videos of your father. thanks again for everything u do and congratulations on ur success(both military and social--ie the project)

  • I actually enjoyed this last part. I understand that you think that some of the footage for the last part may not be as interesting. However you filmed heading in... so you need to show you heading out! ;-) If you were thinking about things to say on the way out while filming, you could've pointed out the failures that the kids made in their systems (like using cotton / etc.). Pointers like those are very helpful to people that don't get out that much and want to try it.

  • Nutn, your the only one who shows use of gear.I always look for your videos, keep learning from them. My yellow lab likes too keep them coming.

  • So sorry that this video almost did not make the cut. I enjoy all the vids: knives, guns, gear, run n gun, etc. I really enjoy some of these longer vids because they seem more personal and you give some great life advice throughout. I hope at the least the kids would have gotten a copy of some of the vids and pics. I really enjoyed the music montage with Allie and your hiking feet around 17:00. Batman seems like a cool kid for sure. Thanks for sharing! ALWAYS appreciated.

  • "not much interest.." ... are you kidding me??? any footage of Allie TMD is always wanted. She's a superstar... "TAP" = The Allie Project (might just humble a Nutn w/ equal view #s.. still awaiting her centerfold in PlayPup magazine :)

  • Nutn, I love the piano track towards the end there. Very reminiscent of snowfall. Superb editing!

  • I always laugh at Allie. How she has her little rain coat on, little boots, and her little side saddles that she wears full of equipment. She looks like a little pack camel. :)

  • i always laugh at Aliie. how she has her little rain coat on, little boots and her little side saddles that she carries full of equipment. :)

  • hahah i love his "creature lurking in the woods" shots

  • Dog looks so awesome with her gear on.

  • I loved this series of videos, it reminds me of my scouting days. I wish I would have done a few more winter klondikes.

  • Outstanding video, enjoyed all 3 vids as much as your gun vids . Camping -shooting-hunting -life does not get much better.

  • @retireddom Agreed, brother. I'd be the happiest man in the world if I got to do those 3 things everyday.

  • oh i remember my first winter camp... we made igloos at round 20degrees up in the swiss alps....awesome!

  • You mention that you werent getting enough feedback on this video. Tabletop reviews and run n guns are awesome. I love them. But I actually enjoyed your "Winter Sense" as much or more. The takeaway from a run n gun is this gear is good or bad, and you sucked or didnt. The takeway from your winter campout for those kids is not even measurable yet, and I applaude you for doing it. Keep them coming.

  • Nutnfancy, will you do a review on the Kelty Eagle 7850 internal frame backpack?

It seems the Kelty Super Tioga external frame backpack is sadly discontinued. This leaves the Kelty Trekker 65 as the largest external frame backpack. Don't like that red color. And the cost of the Eagle is a lot more then the Super Tioga used to be. I'm sorry to have waited to long before ordering that one. I didn’t like that red color either and was hoping for a subdued color. Will Kelty sell a future Tioga?

  • Beautiful scenery

  • Yet another piece of reality YouTube that makes a mockery of what commercial TV has to offer. For one I appreciate your outstanding content and presentation. Doesn't snow much in my part of the world, seeing your snow adventures makes me want to move to Alaska! Thanks for your effort man.

  • awh man those guys were tireeddddd

great video! inspiring me to get into this sort of thing even though i have no idea where to start

  • god i wanna get out there so bad....

    i need to backpacking again.

  • 19,457 views, I'd say there some interest here.

  • How far in did you hike, the edit on the way seemed about like a 10hr hike,. very nice work on cuting the way out.

  • that piano music was great!..it made the production excellent!

  • Nutn, to be honest, I far prefer these types of adventure vids to a tabletop review. I especially appreciate the ones that combine the adventure with gear testing. Of course, table tops are great because they provide excellent reference info on tools and gear which I use. How many other TNP'ers are of the same mind set as I am. So, your comment about not much interest in the first two vids kind of threw me for a loop. I would say, keep it up, I love 'em and wish I could go on a couple some day!

  • Wow, sky looked like it was getting dark or the vis was getting lower.

  • allie is such a cute dog! your lucky to have such a nice adventurous pup

  • Gear lessons learned that those boys will remember for the rest of their lives! thanks for the vid, I enjoyed it

  • Not much interest from TNP'rs for it? Says who? We dedicated TNPr's love this stuff!

Been waiting to see how the trip ended. Guess we need our closure. lol!

Looking forward to what the summer will bring. Keep the great vids coming.

    Keep getting well Allie.

  • I really enjoyed this series! Could you or Veri maybe pm me some general info on how to get into one of those youth groups in the future? That would be awesome.

  • Digging the outdoor advenutre videos - probably my favorites!

  • Digging the outdoor advenutre videos - probably my favorites!

  • this is a REALLY cool series. hope to see more in different seasons. class act all the way nutn. LONG LIVE TNP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish i could go camping with you. one of the reasons i watch your vids is because i like to imagine doing all of the stuff you do. a 14 year old liveing in canada can only do so much :/ well ill try to camp for as long as i can as often as i can when im older :) my dreams are smaller then others. great vid!

  • I had a lot of interest in seeing this 3 part of this trip....guess I need to leave more messages expressing that. Sorry guys.

  • Another great series Nutn, thanks for taking us along.

  • ITs awesome to see the last part!!! Keep it Up!!! Hooah!!

  • This was an awesome series. I really enjoyed it, (I should get a life huh?). Thanks for taking these boys out in the elements, I'll bet they remember it when they are men.

  • great video broham! getting me an ontario survival knife for my future outtings.

  • ah the elusive end to "winter sense" pretty funny there near the end when Allie was diggin' in the snow to go after whatever it was that picced her interest, thanks for posting the final part, pretty funny too when batman made the joke that he was done.

  • ah the elusive end to "winter sense" pretty funny there near the end when Allie was diggin' in the snow to go after whatever it was that picced her interest

  • Great wrap-up to the series. Looked like an awesome experience for those young dudes.

  • Good to see the wrap up of this series!

I always dig your back country adventures & I appreciate the "pass it on" aspect of this video for future hikers.

  • @CampfireTalk p.s. It's always fun when you get home & want to relax, there's still the work of drying out & cleaning the gear : ) Thanks for doing all the heavy lifting on this one brother.

  • Thanks for finishing the editing on this one. I have been waiting a few months to see it. You are wrong in thinking that TNPers don't like this videos. I love them and as you can see in the comments so do others.

    Thanks again.

  • Poser.

  • @TacticalGearJunkie Who is this "Poser" comment directed at? Sort of rude to just throw that out there. It looks like your talking to Nutnfancy.

  • @TacticalGearJunkie Who is this "Poser" comment directed at? Sort of rude to just throw that out there. It looks like your talking to Nutnfancy.

  • @november5th Hopefully you don't beat me up.

  • This is one reason why i love snow and winter, soo much more excitment for me. in summer i get eaten up by bugs and sweat way too much from just standing..plus you cant take off layers if your too warm, because youll be shirtless with a wicked sunburn then..

  • Allie - It's peanut butter jelly time!!!

  • Hey was that a cross county skier or the legendary big feets! lol, cool video, thanks for showing.

    racerx32

  • A new acronym is born at TNP, FCP. You don't want FCP. Frozen Cotton Pants. XD I love TNP!!

  • I love these hiking videos, I was waiting for this final part patiently, because I'm a veteran TNPer and I know that we dont need to ask, and keep reminding you, we will get it when your time schedule allows. I dont think that 40~50k views show little interest. Keep up the great work Nutn, and I hope we could join you for the hikes in this season too. (I wish Alie would be there)

    -hunter

  • man I loved this series.

  • Looks like fun to me! I remember fun times up in Glacier when I was young.

  • "not to much interest from tnpr's" w/e been waiting for this

  • hey nutn, around the 13 min mark you said if more than 2 days in those conditions, you would need a dry rack, any vids on how to make one? or can you explain how to make one? I rarely see snow but want to take some trips to northern US. can you help me out?

  • Hey Nut,

Thanks for posting part III. Video like this reminds me to make that effort to get out

and enjoy the mother nature. Appreciate it my good man!

  • Another great video

  • Nicely done. Those kids may not have always looked thrilled to be there but they'll always remember it and know that they perservered. They also picked up some great beginning skills. Love all the hiking/camping vids.

  • @scooter17568 LOL..that's so true. I know if you had taken pics of us as kids at times camping we would have looked like we were being tortured, but looking back...good times. -- Veri

  • Thanks for posting the last part. The adventure vids are my fav. Love to see the gear in a trial by fire/snow.

Ever tried one of those new head/helmet mounted cameras like the contourHD etc? I've never tried one but they look like they might increase your comfort factor.

    Keep up the great work.

  • @ethr95awd He tried one and the audio was messed up...he's still got to tinker with it to get it right. -- Veri

  • Nutn, i agree with others, this vid is GREAT! I know this TNP is a lot of work for you but i would like to say thank you & i appreciate it. As for this type of vid: I'm not always lucky enough to get outdoors as much as i'd like and watching these really gives me a "feeling of being there"! Keep your head up!! Love the vids. i dont comment much but i watch all the videos!! Would love to see more videos like these =) Best Wishes!!

  • great vid. did the car get out?

  • @millan32 Yes, the car got out. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy One of my favorite nut'n vids. Looks like it was a great time.

  • Awesome video, did u ever get the car out?

  • @svtTorino Nutn says the car got out by driving it about 5mph.. -- Veri

  • I actually love these kinds of videos more than, say, knife reviews. I get a chance to learn a few things and sort of live vicariously through your vids. I hope you had a great Memorial Day! Thanks for taking time to teach others and your service in the military.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • That was awesome! Keep it going, Nutnfancy!

  • 11:36 cotten is a no no ...note add

  • Great vid Nutn!! Keep it up! I've been waiting for this vid to come out for a long time to. This reminds me of when I was a kid and did hiking/camping trips with my church boy brigade. I still look back on those times with a lot of enjoyment. What I wouldn't give to have some video of those trips. The impact you can make on kids is amazing.

On a differnt note I took you advice on the Superfeet green insoles. Went on a 10-mile hike yesterday through mud/lots of water but my feet feel great tdy.

  • Epic fart at 1:07

  • love this video Nutn! been one of your long term TNPer (since 2008 or 9 cant remember). I fully support every action you take on the TNP, I know how much hard work and difficult time you have to go through for all these videos (being a highly professional technical personal, i know how tough is to just balance work and family) . Thank you for all the great memories you given to every TNPer around the world, and hope to see more of your adventure video. Bless to you and your friends and family!

  • excellent series. I had been looking forward to the finale for a while. Keep up the awesome work with TNP!

  • Awesome Nutn, thanks for posting the final part!! It's great to see someone out there teaching kids how to be real men/women! Keep the vids coming!!

  • great vid nutnfancy i have been waiting for this one for a while. cant wait to see you buck hoodlum review.

  • Keep up the videos dude, i know I have gotten more than a few people hooked on your vids, too bad there are too few people like you today cuz I think we need more decent selfless people today more than ever!

  • could that sled have doubled as an emergency sled ride? it seemed a little short for for a person

also i was wondering, what would be better, water from a stream or melted snow to drink?

  • P.S. Why 45 min, well, I watched this vid twice.

  • Why didn’t you make a fourth, getting the car and pickup out and down the hill?

And what’s this feeling lethargic with the nutnfancy project, if you get lethargic and stop making these vids it’s the end of my escape from the shit boring office, I tune in during office hours it’s like a 45 min adventure break, but don’t tell the boss ; )

Good work Nutnfancy keep it up.

  • Thank goodness!!! I was hoping you'd bring this last installment on. Thanks as always bro and great work with those kids. Things they'll keep with them the rest of their lives.
