@tbursee The book of Corinthians also says women should not speak in church. It says the the head of woman is the man. Now in understanding the times, you'll see that this was addressing the church in Corinth at THAT time.

Also, seeing as the bible is anti tatoos and piercings...to say that ear rings pertain to women is an assumption. That is just like saying women shouldn't wear pants. Its simply not scriptural.

Women were interrupting the service to ask their husbands questions, and Paul said ask your husbands at home. But women can speak in church, how else would they praise God is they could'nt open their mouth? The bible says to not mark your body as the heathen does, period! women and ear rings , God does'nt care one way or the other. It does'nt mark you as a slave today like it did 1000's of years ago

When you read the chapter in its entirety you'll see Paul was alluding to men trying to look like women and women trying to look like men. But it is clear when it says "judge in yourselves." This further shows that it is (1) not a commandment and (2) not to be taken literally. To God be the glory.
