You don't hunt because you don't want to hurt poor little bambi. Also the Chief had a HUD link to the scope so he didn't have to "look through" the scope. What the scope sees can be transfered to his helmet. Same with UNSC helmets. Oh and another thing, it is also common for people to put scopes on things other than hunting revolvers. I've seen it before. I've used it, and I can aim so much better than the standard ironsights.

And moving on, the BR indeed has a scope... That's why the pistols are probably not going to have a usable scope in H3. If they do, then consider it a mini battle rifle. The Sniper gets killed by the faster battle rifle, the BR guy gets killed by the pistol guy who can fire even faster with his dual pistols. But again, it's probably not going to have a scope.

The pistol wouldn't beat the BR if it was dualed. Instead of shooting with 1 pistol (1--1--1--1) you have 2 so you can go (Left-right-left-right) so 2 pistols would be faster than 1 BR.

Do you realize that it won't be Halo 2 anymore? Pistols will be way stronger than the weak ones in H2. The pistol in 1,3 are almost modeled after a desert eagle in strength. The bullets are bigger, note the small 9 clip. The BR uses small rounds, that's why it has a short 36 clip. If I had to choose between big bullets and small rounds/burst, I'd choose big bullets. It does more damage and on top of that, the bullets "explode" on impact if you read the manuals.
