@hellraiser313 you have to buy "chemical guys citrus wash and clear", cost about 25 bucks, use 2 oz on a gallon of water. but the best way is to use it with cannon foam gun that lets it sits in the paint for a while. some people use dish washer soap, but its not professional way. when there is no wax, but some water on the hood and it should not bead at all. you're ready to clay.
Can somebody explian why the pad has the same color as the the car? I knnow the type the compound he is using works really well but the color of the car is all over the pad. Also, I do not like the way he stars working the compound. It should be slow at first then. He is killing the paint and clear coat in the first second the runs the buffer. For me he is not a professional. Sand paper? Shoul be 2000 and 3000 ultra cut, swirl remover, ultralina 3000, glaze and wax.
The pad is the same color as the pad because he is polishing paint that is single stage which does not have a clear coat. When you polish, you are removing a tiny amount of paint. When that paint is clear coat, you cannot see it on the pad because it is clear. With single stage paint, the color of the paint will be seen on the pad. Similar to how he explains color sanding single stage versus wet sanding clear.
I have to thank Meguiars for having the best support for their users . As a carcleaner i love people who bring in a well maintained painting job. Just too bad still many people don't know or care how to do it properly.
Thanks for giving the best support and good products aswell as for these video's !
Speed Glaze is an amazing product! It is probabally the most versatile product I have. It cleans, polishes and protects in one step. Even so, I usually followup with a hi tech yellow wax, or zymol creme...
As far as I know #80 speed glaze cleans and polishes the paint but contains no protection. That's why you always have to follow up with a sealant or a wax.
Yes, but make sure you only have microfiber towels in the wash together, no other types of towels with them or you'll have lint all over the microfiber towels! Also, do not use softener in the washer or the dryer. If you ever drop one on the ground, I recommend throwing it away or use it for door jams or engine compartment only.
Working on that finish all day doesn't allow for restroom breaks...watch 8:34
