@rocktars heavy like any other bass... personally I don't like flats, I really prefer rounds, they have more sound, flats are kind muted...

@harristhephantom flats are made for fretless basses, to play jazz and fusion, they're more deep and round in the sound; rounds are the classic bass strings, goog for every kind of genere. honestly I disrecommend using flats, because they are absolutely unbright and make it very hard to cut through any mix. rounds have a better longevity and sound more aggressive!

Are you playing the song's bass line, or are you playing the song's lead guitar line on a bass? If it's the latter, then I salute you, because more people need to play the bass as an actual instrument rather than as a noisy metronome.

@icheatin very simple: you could use 3 fingers which is a technique that allows you to play at double speed, but many think this technique does not fit to maiden songs (scroll through comments, you can find "how many fingers are you using?" all the way). that's it!

eh simplifing a song on bass is not hard it s all about doing the notes in the most efficnet way possible, as to minimise yoru own hand movements. often palyign it that way is not really simple though , as your fingers still do a lot of moving on the fret board just your hand is not jumping all over the place. btw been a bass player for about 20 years now myself , great covner dude keep at it !

well, this one is pretty hard to find, but you can make yourself one! components are cheap :)
