I made it up this area or 3 in a 2010 RZR-S, in the snow two weeks ago, with 30" Silverbacks.....Without Stopping. Momentum, Momentum, Momentum. You gotta hit it at the bottom and dont stop until you hit the gravel road. Nothin' to it
I would have loved to see that! I think you went to the right near the end. This is the left trail where the rock crawlers go... This was at the end of October; I went again in the middle of november and this part was already so dug out that I couldn't have made it again.
#1 Wrong tires to be doing that, swamplights are just that "SWAMP" mud tires. Look close at the tires, they have hardly any bite to rocks.
#2 too much tire pressure, the tires don't even flex or mold to the rocks.
#3 when crawling really soften your pre-load on the shocks, this will keep your tires on the ground better with more flex... differant shocks make a WORLD of differance over stock.
I run 27" Maxxis bighorns on bead locks and air down to 3 in the front and 4 in the rear.
Hey man I agree with you. First off, I don't know these guys. They just happen to see me climbing up this and they came up behind me and I said what the heck, I'll film it. Yes, Bighorns are much more siuted to doin this than those swamplites. I'm not sure what PSI he was running, but he could have dropped it and that would have helped. Heck, my Dirt Commanders will do better on this than my 27" Radial Outlaws, even though I will have about 2" less ground clearance, but more bite on the rocks.
Your absolutly right about crawling. The guy in the teryx is a guy named breeze who isn't in to crawling or anything. He rides with us and usually shys away from anything too bad. He just followed another buddy in the RZRS and found himself in a spot he didn't want to be. He would have went to the right if he had of known
I honestly don't know why he had as much trouble as he did. I actually cut out several minutes of dead time in this video where he kept trying over and over, but just couldn't find the right line. He had the ground clearance, but still just got hung up alot. The Razr made it much easier tho.
Man I don't want to sound like a hater but I was not there nor have I ever seen that trail. But I have an 08 Teryx and I have been on trails that look harder that that. Maybe it was driver error.
Tire pressure is probably the sole reason he didn't climb right up. What was that, like 20psi?
