The issue it not a "Gay" or "Racial" it's about quality of life.
the video " My Wife Blood" shows the bloody clothes of a woman who was attached on W 10th St & Greenwich St, while on her way to work. This woman just recovered from a stroke and walks with a cane. She is a woman of color and raised from childhood by her two gay aunts from the age of 5yrs. She also moved here 14yrs ago because it was a safe neighborhood.
Unbelievable. I received a link to this video from my feminist studies TA. It's so easy to believe that here in the 21st century we've overcome the issues of prejudice and racism, and that things like police brutality aren't going on right under our noses. Its good that there are people who realize these instances are far more common than they appear and are bringing it to public awareness. Props to whoever made this.
Why did you make this cheesy video. The issue isn't gay rights. It's peoples rights. You need to fight for them because you're a person, not because you're gay.
The purpose was to be a tool used to agitate and educate LGTBQ2 youth to do something and be active in their community, which for many is the pier and the Ville. If the film failed its purpose, then I'd be happy to hear critiques. Thank you. Keidera
I was working with LGBTQ2 youth in the Ville and white men don't deal with the same issues there. Cops are a problem in general, but people don't usually talk about youth or queer youth specifically being targeted. I thought it was very clear that the matter being addressed was the issue of mistreatment of this group in this area. it wasn't just a film to enjoy...
I believe we should tell our own stories and as a Black Lesbian Womyn I have ownership over my own experience and others like me who are usually silenced now have a platform in which to speak. White men usually feel free to tell their stories, however when and where is the space for queer youth to make and be in a film about themselves telling their stories they way they see it? Usually, it is an outsider creating their stories for them.
Okay so, my partner and I made this film as part of my film class. I was a FIERCE member and an active part of the queer community in the West Village. The reason we focussed on LGBTQ2 p.o.c. youth specifically is because that's our community. I don't know how white men are harassed. To be frank I have never seen it. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I don't have access to white men in order to document their issues.
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Police Department will soon begin randomly testing its 36,000 officers for steroid abuse in light of allegations that a criminal ring was supplying the drug to pumped-up officers. The NYPD issued a memo warning officers that anabolic steroids are a controlled substance reported to cause "aggressive, anti-social or inappropriate behavior."
wow do you relize these people do have jobs and this is what they do on there free time to protect people liek you from getting harassed and abused so why do you have to rant on some ones hair if you didnt knwo dreadlocks were not big in the 70s that would be the 90s and today you idiot and whats wrong with doing some true community service and there trying to let people know they dont have stand for the shit police through at them were not hitler gremany were america the people run this country
I heard a lot of talk about police hassling people - but it sounds to me as if these people feel that they should not have to follow city ordinances because they are LGTB.
Good video, but I can't stand it when these people say they focus on police brutality against certain minority groups. How about just combatting police brutality in general? Is it worse if a cop abuses a black woman than if a cop abuses a white male? Abuse is abuse! That's my message for the long-haired hippie dude :-) Thanks for sharing the video, though.

POLICE UNIONS are UNAMERICAN! They protect the criminal element within police departments.
