The best way to learn about your own ideological preferences, is to learn more than one ideology. This is what Bruce Lee did after all, as he developed his own martial art from other existing ones, and developed it wround his own preferences.

But, only a few years later after quitting karate, i've learnt that martial arts is not just a sport, but a way to learn about your own body, and your limitations. You can then either, leave your limitations behind, and focus on your strengths, or focus on your limitations. This is what many MMA fighters do.

I watched the clip 5 times after reading the comment about speeding up the film. The kick is fast on impact, the guy who holds the board will definitely have his hands flying back almost at the speed of the kick. Watch the other guys movements, 2 guys behind the one who held the board, their head movements was not sped up. Now watch back the part where he broke the board with his fist, it looks like the film was sped up too (bcos of the actual speed). Just my observation.

i challange anyone on youtube who says Bruce was a fake. post your own video and attempt breaking a 1 inch thick board with the one inch punch. simple right? try it out. i bet after a year of trying, you still wont break that board. think that is too simple? bruce could hold 30 lbs. out in front of him for 30 mins straight, 15lbs each hand. can you even do 5 or 2.5 lbs for 10 mins?

@ChaseParkison how he breaks it with minimum distance is he has an open hand, keeps pressure on the board which when he adds arm strength along with shoulder twist and hip twist works like a spring. This magnifies the strength of hit so it is very effective at short distance when you dont have enough space to speed up.

@ASwiftHippie no one is a god, but the facts are the facts. he trained under sifu Yip Man, one of the most amazing fighters of china for most of his training. his brother was a Fencing national champion, Bruce learned a lot about distancing, speed and movement from this. physical abilities that have not been replicated today by anyone. many people can vouch for fights he has been in.... he won every one. he used to fight on the roof tops in china... kinda like modern fight clubs.
