however i ALWAYS tend to have extreme problems with aphids no matter what I do to keep ants away. do you have any tips o this? also, how shoud i keep pincher bugs off my pots? they also tend to infest bottom of my pots with whole colonies... thank you!
@cashwavestudios It is best to grow from the ground but not everyone has a yard this is good for people who live in the city and want to grow herbs on there window cell or small patio. I cant wait to have my own house with a huge yard to grow all veggies n herbs I want.
@kucibaba2: Sounds like you did everything right. Unfortunately, once in a while, you'll get a plant that just doesn't grow well. It has happened to me. I suspect it has something to do with how the plants are grown in the nursery. Better luck next time!
Hi, I bought very small basil in april, it was in the pot. But it never grew big, in my opinion it had a lot of sun, I watered it regularly like you said. It was never dark green, very light in color and as I said leaves remained small , the plant was maximum 12 " high. It was making even smaller baby leaves. Do you have any idea why? regards from Poland:)

i don't think it's natural to EAT anything that's grown in a pot... herbs are meant to be grown CONNECTED to the EARTH & SOIL...

@WellAndrea What kind of fertilizer do you use? And is it better to let the flowers bloom for seeds or pinch them off?

I have basil growing near one of the downspouts. It turned out to be a good spot, as the horseradish is establishing there as well.
