  • You brought back some amazing memories! I now sing "Me and My Teddy Bear" to my grandchildren!

  • Possibly the forerunner to the GIF animation.

  • I had them all until the mirror broke, and unfortunately I gave them away. Brings back many memories!

  • I had these when I was a kid. For years I thought ravens really were red.

  • Really great job on this video! Thanks for your efforts!

  • Great job !!

  • This is really beautiful!!! So great to see the footage so clearly. Very fun to locate the Red Raven in them!! Thanks so much for posting this!

  • How did you get the animated video to download? I have the CD-rom animated video, but couldn't get it into the format needed to share it. ( I have the records, too, and the mirror carousel. Was AWESOME when I was a kid!!)

  • Oh please find a 78 speed phonograph so that you can play this at the right speed. That sounds awful!

  • I have this for sale on ebay right now. I have 9 double sided records, magic mirror, original box and record sleeves with instructions. The original box is scarce. my seller name is bbrsales on ebay.

  • Wow now THIS is different! Can't imagine too many of these survived the years.

  • Wow. Takes me back to 1958 or so. Wish I'd kept mine!

  • I have 5 records up for auction on ebay if anyone is interested. unfortunately I don't have the mirror carousel thing...

  • Back in 1975, my preschool teacher had several of these records. She made the mistake of showing them to our class one day and spent the rest of the year listening to me beg her to show us the records again. Thank you for resisting the urge to tell me to shut up about the records, Mrs. Fraley! I must have driven you crazy that year!

  • These were extraordinary children's records, offering the first version of color motion picture cartoons with sound for home viewing. They were developed by Morgan Laboratories of Connecticut, circa 1955. The product ownership changed hands several times until it ceased production in the early 1970s when the final owner, Spear Products Company, closed shop. You can still find the mirrors and records on ebay. International versions were also produced with different graphics and songs.

  • Beautifully made video of these interesting records. Thanks

  • That is chock full of awesome. Thank you!

  • Wow, I always wanted to see all these animations in action. thanks so much for posting!

  • Thank you for posting this. I haven't seen these images in at least 30 years. But I still cannot figure out how you made the video?

  • totally bizarre....totally wonderful....I used to have some of that stuff when I was a kid...yikes.

  • see? this is why Boomers are so crazy...there were actually sinister subliminal messages about the joys of hedonism and selfishness embedded in the disks...

    ...maybe not...very clever low-tech, actually!

  • I had several of these when I was a kid. They were played at 78 RPM and I remember spending hours watching them. Thanks for the happy memories!

  • Are you playing a 78 at 33 rpm?

  • Maybe 45? it's not easy to get a 78 rpm player anymore....

  • That's true

  • That is cool!

  • WOW, thats a beautiful collection, even for me than collect metal records, can you show a photo of the label stopped?

    thanks

  • FANTASTIC! thanks a million for this.

  • beautiful
