  • Hi !!! Muris zelim te pitati od dakle si naucio ovaj neoclassic??

  • @005full

Odakle sam naucio neo-classic? Tesko pitanje jer covjek uci dok je ziv pa tako i ja, nista nije "nauceno". :)

Al mogu reci da sam dosta toga pokupio skidajuci druge gitariste koji sviraju nesto slicno,

na prvom mjestu YJM itd. :)

  • '-'

    some1 want buy my guitar?

  • Daj zicu da se ubijem

  • o_____O

  • this is more neo baroque than neo classical

  • @pilotoatomico

I totally agree but in 99% cases every piece of music older than approx. 100 years is considered "Classical",

    therefor the title.

  • Kako si naucio svirat gitaru ? :D jesil iso na neke lekcije ili si samouk ? :D

  • @auroraneo1

Prvo samouk, zatim malo "old style" teorije u srednjoj muzickoj skoli i zatim opet sve sam. :)

  • Hi Muris, that's really challenging!

Do you use thin strings (what gauge?) and low action for this exercise?

Could you also pull it off on an acoustic guitar?

  • @drfretboard

I think I used 010-046, Elixir of course.

The thing is, I have pretty much higher action on my guitars because I play bottleneck a lot,

so yeah, it can be done on acoustic as well IF the distance between strings isn't too far like on classical guitars per example, that would take some extra time on picking. :)

  • god dam awesome, wha guitar are you using in this video

  • Dude that was seriously shit hot :O

  • Everyones probably asked u, but can you tell me what guitar that is? And if you've changed anything in it?

  • @musictakeslife

  • BRAVISIMO BRAVISIMO !!!!!!! SVAKA CAST!!!!!

  • How's this a lesson? Fail ....

  • @SlashWorshipper1993 The lesson is on the website, this is the thing the more advanced students are learning.

  • top

  • Dobro je kako si ti sta ima kod tebe ? Zapali se gitara !

  • i've been practicing picking between strings inside for 3 months now.......i can only get 80% of this temp on a good day.........what am i missing?? judy

  • @jareds1007

You are probably missing some more practicing, I can't think of anything else, it's always practicing. :)

  • @murisv glad to know. love practicing. Merry Christmas Muris!

  • @murisv Hey man do you know any good guitars that are good to practice and learn on for a decent price? Preferably the ones used for shredding. What brands do you suggest?

  • @IronBassMaiden

It's quite impossible to suggest such thing as good guitar for good practicing,

it's way too personal and subjective imo. :)

  • @murisv What kind of pick you use?

  • @Harmomic

To be honest, it's never the same, I have plenty of picks in my pocket

and I use whatever I pull out first.

But they are all mostly thick, 1mm-2mm.

  • @murisv At 13 sec you don't use exactly a D minor natural/harmonic/melodic, it seems to be mixed, is that normal ?

  • @Harmomic oh sorry I had not seen the description on gmc

  • @IronBassMaiden save up 2 grand and get a pretrucci model. their expensive but they play amazing and there awesome studio guitars.

  • @jareds1007 i think u need some pauses. hands need to rest also.

  • @grytoria i found that is very true....i 've been taking a day or two off in between to let the muscles kinda heal and absorb.....similar to body building...thanks.

  • @jareds1007 In guitar and bodybuilding there is a rule, when you can practice every day, but with lower intension. To play slower, or to use lower weights(for endurance). I practice this lesson with the scheme below:

    warm up

20% of time I play it on limit of speed

80% I play it very slow, trying to be very clean. Maybe I'm not right with this approach..

  • @jareds1007 maybe you have to practice slower and let it flow then, it's the fastest way i experienced, if you maybe rush and do it like dense and no completely relaxed the progress is slower i think, but i don't know if this is for you

  • @LetGoToGrowth i think you're right...just keep trying...slow....experience is everything....thanks buddy.

  • when you pick back and forth between adjacent strings....are you picking on the inside of them, or the outside?

  • @jareds1007

That's a good question and the answer is that there is no rule, sometimes it's inside, sometimes it's outside,

depends on a lick. Good idea for practicing picking is to play everything you play in 2 ways,

start with downstroke and then start with upstroke, you'll be ready for all unexpected picking variations

that you might face when you improvise and such. :)

  • ...crap....are you still giving lessons online? please tell....! :o D

  • @mikejung75

Right, I must be a cow then. :D

  • @murisv No you are GOD because I practice like a maniac but I just can't do what you do..should i just burn my guitar and go play hide and seek? gee..

  • J e b o t e .

  • That guy is fucking brillant.

  • Jeli Murise prijatelju, sta znaci ovo A7/-9, nije mi uopste poznata ta forma arpeggia.

  • @koznakojiuser

A 7/-9 je akord koji se nalazi na V stupnju harmonskog D mola,

    tonovi su A, C#, E, G i Bb. :)

  • @murisv

  • beautifuuuuuuuuuul

  • holy crap :) nice

  • Bubnjevi na pocetku me posjecaju na pjesmu 'scarified' od Paul Gilberta haha.

But anyway, you have amazing skills dude. I've watched pretty much all your videos now, and I absolutely love your technique.

  • excellent guy, keep neoclassic

  • You have to be the most amazing guitarist i have ever heard. your technique is mind blowing.

  • You arre amazing.

  • You surely had to go through a phase of achieving your incredible speed as shown in this video. Surely it doesn't come over time without at least trying to force it, or does it? For me my max which is hard for me is 100-108 bpm sextuplets anything higher and mistakes happen. Speed alone what advice could you give me as well as everyone else who struggles with it. Did it just come naturally to you? Cause 3 string sweep yngwie style apreggios played fast did for me I can honestly say.

  • Sorry for not saying, but my questions were regarding alternate picking not the sweep picking.

  • btw i love this little ditty you created its phenominal

  • I guess you do have to force it every once in a while, just to get an idea on how it's gonna sound and feel when you manage to play it faster but still clean and accurate.

To much forcing shall lead to sloppy playing most likely so do it wisely and try not to over do it. :)

  • Thanks for the quick response, for me it seems like short bursts of 1 or 2 beat notes sorta got me to my max point but beyond breaking that point is probably just a matter of forcing it alittle each day sorta like a 10 minute workout regime on alternate lick patterns, generic licks, or created licks to develop a endurance to help me push it further and further. i think its the endurance of fast alternate picking thats limiting my speed but that just comes from playing each and every day.

  • holy fuck thats good

  • do you have a cd?

  • Yeah, check out my profile. :)

  • Bravo, you are a God among men.

  • Muris, are you going to release a new album next year? Pleaseee!

Let It Out is awesome !

  • I have been working on it for few years now and all tunes have been written but due other jobs and projects that I do I just cannot find enough time to record it properly and everything else.... hopefully soon, cheers. :)

  • @murisv

Thanks Muris, I appreciate your response.

One question left, to achieve this speed...Are you using the strenth of your forearm for you picking or its just your wrist?

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards. =D

  • Are you using economy picking or alternate picking of the scale runs?

  • *for the scale runs.

  • All alternate, cheers. :)

  • Nice , your technique is very clean.

Years of playing with a metronome ?

  • To be honest I never ever practiced with metronome

but I did spend a lot of time playing along actual songs etc.

Imho metronome is the must only if you have certain issues with rhythm, for everything else you can play along songs or backing tracks.

  • Bravo ! Super playing !

Is that a mayones you have?

  • No, it's my MK custom, cheers. :)

  • Muris, that was insane!!!

  • Bravo,Murise...lepo je cuti nekoga sa ovih prostora da tako dobro svira.

  • Zivio. :)

  • It's interesting to see that your picking style with all of your fingers curled in, resembles the way Paul Gilbert positions his picking hand.

    Great work! very inspiring!

  • Woooooooooa,.. 6 star man,... Amazing,..!!!

  • Thanks. :)

  • i'm sure malmsteen can't do this!!!

  • That is not much important I would say,

the fact is that YJM has been huuuge influence for everyone who ever even tried to play Neo-Classic,

    including me ofc. :)

  • I would guess that he could play it perfectly fine. Hands down this is a really really great performance but Yngwie's playing is a bit more complex if you ask me, this was more straight forward.

  • This was under the minute piece, I really don't know how you should be able to compare it with whole Yngwie's opus in a first place.

But I get your point and I agree, this was straight forward since it's just a lesson and not a real composition. :)

  • Some tabs would be awsome, so we know exactly what are you playing, although, that would be a lot to ask

  • Tabs are available only at GMC since they have copyrights, check out the link in info text. :)

  • okay, thanks for the reply

  • I wanna play violin at that speed, that is my ultimate goal in life xD

  • Pizzicato ;)

  • how long have you been playing guitar ?

well and another question is: All over the internet there are people who say it is necessary to practice 6 hours a day but I cant imagine that someone "normal ", who´s job is not music, has the time to spent that much time to learn.

I have good progress with 2 hours of really concentrated practicing.

sometimes, when it´s weekend I would play like 6 hours bu thats not éveryday.

do you think it ´s necessary to practice a whole day to become a "god"?

  • We just can't practice whole day or 6 hours every day,

    some other things happens,job etc.

People have different goals music wise and different circumstances in life but yeah, the more you practice the better you become, if you can play for 6 hours everyday, brilliant. But if you can then do it wisely with 2 hours...

Just don't be driven by idea of become a "god", enjoy your playing and practicing, results shall come.

Oh, and I've been playing for approx 14 years now.

Cheers and best of luck! :)

  • Cheers guys. :)

  • Dude,absolutely awesome..you rock!
