The opposite is also true, if they see anything barreling toward them, they're gunnu back off. They actually couldn't have handled the situation any better :P

This is actually the correct way of dealing with the situation, as it shows the elephant that you are not intimidated by it. One should NEVER try reversing if you're that close to it. Further more you could also bang with your arms on the outside of the doors. Simply hitting the vehicle's horn will not suffice. Look at the amount of dislikes, I'm guessing it has something to do with the title.

people may think of Elephant as Docile from seeing them in zoos, but in the wild they can be docile or deadly, it is not an animal you want charging at you, it doesnt matter what kind car your in, getting hit full-on by a creature that large an heavy will probably do more damage to the car and its passengers than the Elephant, people also think of Hippos as docile, but their even more dangerous than Elephants, Elephants show signs of provocation, hippos rarely do before attacking, unpredictable
