Please, could you ALSO post the original Rich Mullins song with Rich singing.? Thank you! This is a nice tribute, but the original is what we know. (No offense intended)
I bought this on iTunes some time back. It's Rich Mullins singing it on his album "The Jesus Record." LOVE it! It's not a traditional Christmas song, but it seems to be a perfect song for the Christmas season.
There are 4 main versions of this song. The first is solely Rich Mullins with a piano recorded on a cheap tape recorder shortly before he died on "The Jesus Demos" then there is the Ragamuffin Band version on "The Jesus Record" Which was the album Rich intended to record. This version is by the co-author of the song Mitch McVicker and the most lively version was recorded by dcTalk on the Prince of Egypt Soundtrack
btw, does anyone know who did the cover of this that has a choir of children singing the very first chorus at the beginning?? I really wish I could find it...
Actually, the one with kids singing is the version done immediately after Rich's death by "The Ragamuffin Band" Rich's original is also on the Jesus record, but it is him singing while playing an out of tune piano in an abandoned church. They just stopped there, brought out a recorder and did a raw version. Anyone know who sings this version?
I love Rich Mullin's songs, and my choir teacher actually got to grow up with him. I wish I could've been that lucky. But, I know I'll get to see him someday. ^ ^
I wish I was not a fool and could have met rich mullins. I was not a christian then, but I have since realized that being a christian has more perks in life than anything else! Has anyone here heard the dc Talk cover of this song? Awesomeness!
just wanted to say: awesome job dude! awesome video. i got to meet rich mullns shortly before his death, and he was an awesome person to get to talk to. this is one of my favorite songs of his and u did it justice with this vid. keep up the good work, and god bless you.
