  • Hi, I just started building my own chopper bike using old bike frames and stuff. I was just wondering where i could get that crank arm extractor? thanks.

  • @zombiesniper95 you can buy them at chain reaction cycles - go to bottom of the page and click on the link to "tools" under the category "workshop"

  • My bike makes a kind of clicking sound when riding, when the crank arms reach the bottom of the stroke, there will be a click. No chain rub. What's the prob? Thanks in advance

  • i can't remove my bike crank with the crank remover! it seem the crank stuck on the square spindle.

  • stop bitching about buying tools, btw. you can't work on a car with a hammer and a screwdriver. same goes with your bike.

either suck it up and buy the right tools, or patronize your local bike shop. (or have fun riding your broken bike)

  • @TheJoooon because a car and a bike arent much different... riight..

  • @TheJoooon

What do you care sour puss? lol

  • that park tools crank puller (crank arm extractor as he says) costs 15 bucks...

if you care at all about your bike, don't take a hammer to it

  • How to remove your crank: spend $1000000 on special tools OR buy a FREAKIN big screwdriver and a FREAKIN big hammer and dislike your fingers, I got really flat fingers but my crank came off and new one went on. p.s. dont swear like I did if you live next to a catholic school, most beginner bike boys forget that half of the weird things come off with a flat blade and a hammer

  • my bottom bracket is a bit loose, it wobbles, how would i fix this?

  • @daniel15333

You need a new bottom bracket/need to open it up and see what's wrong inside and re-grease it if the bearing haven't gone. If you needed to ask this you're best off just going to a bike shop for them to sort out.

  • @638dantheman the bikes a month old so its almost new, i doubt im gunna have to change the bracket though i cant figure out how to tighten it

  • I appreciate the speed and efficiency with which you spoke, it made it very quick and clear to get the information without having to sit through 8 minutes of footage of some guy being like "then uhhhh you'll uhhh, go ahead and...uhhh put this in here uhhh" and turning what should be quick and concise into a long drawn out thing. Thanks for the upload!

  • Ok. My bike doesn't have this style of crank. The crank arms aren't detachable, it's all one solid unit that has to be feed out of the hole.

  • @wisecrac99 You have a one peice jsut un screw the side withioutt the sprocket and pull it through .

    and get three peices.

  • i wish you could just use a screw driver for everything

  • @aaabronco so true. I have this huge tool box of all kinds of bike tools, and only vaguely know what half of them do

  • How do you remove like pedal brakes

  • @HalSka8 i was talking abot the crank u idiot lol

  • @HalSka8 3pc fuckn peice of shit

  • Why is youtube trying to convert me to mormonism???

  • My crankshaft extractor tool can't screw in the side without the chain links because the thread of the crankshaft is ruined, any tips in how to get it off

  • Yeah, seriously, I think that if someone were looking up how to do this, I don't think they would have the tools to do it.

  • Get rid of that ridiculous hat please!

  • okay, can smbdy post a video of a SKILLED bike technician that can do this without that stupid peice of shit one use crank puller specialty tool?

  • i never take the pedals off,, why does everyone else does that ??

  • @THEKINGBG1 nubs...

  • my bearings is crap...i tell ya

  • i lost the nut from my left hand crank, could you please tell me what size nut i have to buy to replace it.

  • With how easily he is able to spin the pedals at 0:36 , I can tell I have some really dirty crappy bearings...

  • Lol if your doing it for a bmx just take off the screw then bang of crank out

  • you dont need the speical tool just get a big flat headed screw driver and leaver it off.

  • CANT SEE SHIT NIGGA

  • Could someone repost this WITHOUT the text on top. I found it soooo annoying that I just stopped watching it....fools :(

  • @parapax

there's a button called CC next to the videoresolution.

push it a the text disappears.

    gr

  • what about a regular fucking bike i mean damn

  • Thanks for showing us how to install it (sarcasm)

  • I loved youtube until advertisments got involded..

  • The pedals are stuck ,one came loose so I tightened it and now I can move them at all what did I do wrong?

  • I wonder where this expectation comes from that a highly refined and specialized piece of equipment should able to be fixed with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. If designers were forced to make bikes fixable only using tools every yahoo has in the kitchen junk drawer, bikes would suck.

  • i hate how something as simple and pure as a bicycle, even a fixed gear bike, requires the most complex and specialized tools... ridiculous

  • Comment removed

  • oh come on it took me two days to find 1 alan key to take the first nut off, how longs it going to take to find the crank tool....

  • @LeeroyTheAtheist

    Hahahahaha

  • Ummmm really need help, I have and eastern bike got it 3 days ago, the crank started to click loud, what shoud I do reply or message me, please!

  • if you really want to get it off and dont have the money... get a mallet and hit it.. also put some wd 40 on there to losen it up a bit works every time for me ..

  • is this the same for a bmx ?

  • Dammit..is that tool necassary as the same for kid bikes? i dont have the extra money to go and buy seperate tools.

  • @BIGmike974 ebay? think iv seen them on there for £6

  • So, if you don't have the tool it's impossible, if you do have the crank then it's so easy we don't need the video. Perhaps instead he should have a video on WHERE TO FIND THE DAMNED CRANK ARM EXTRACTOR.

  • Me fail google, that's unpossible.

  • this is actually a good expertvillage video. all the other ones i watch have vague instructions

  • wow I didnt know this was expertvillage before you said that then I looked ;o

  • whats if you dont have a crank arm extractor is there any other tool you can use

  • anyone know were you can buy a crank arm extractor in stores(not online)

  • I love youtube, i aint never gonna get riped off installations ever again!!!!

  • @gazeler LOL! Same here

  • Fuck...You mean I went so far with this fucking bike...to find out I can't replace the crank. It's old, crooked...and I got a new one...ugh, well...let's see what else I can do...

  • Ok I'm stuck. Something around my pedals is wobbling and i don't know what it is. Please someone help

  • is ti ur pedals or when u shake ur crank arm is it shakey

  • When i shake the arm that leads down to the disc that your chains on, the disc moves and i can't find where to tighten it up if it needs tightening.

  • probally ur pedal bearings are loose just tighten them

  • slooooow down there cheetah

  • why do i always need some tool to fix my bike. chain whip, chain breaker now this

  • Removing your crank is not a common job. Usually repairs which are going to have to be made often use everyday tools, but because the bottom bracket usually doesnt need to be disassembled it uses tools specific to the job.

  • what the fk, why do bikes always need some special fucking tools. now im pissed.

  • Bikes are designed for optimal function, not ease of repair. Special tools are necessary to adjust pieces which are made unique to the function of the part.

  • join da club

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver you can usually make these kind of things in this case, take a 14mm bolt with rachet and threadit in

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver you are just so fucking right

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver noFUCn shit eh!

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver i did without that pussy ass tool

  • @tucamsam1 how? because it looks like i need that tool. how did you get around it?

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver Lol, usually they'll show you all sorts of tools you don't need. Wanna change a tire? Use butter knives. Wanna remove your crank? All you need is a 14mm socket wrench. You seriously don't need that other tool he mentioned, you can just slide the crank off. Make sure to lube it before you put it back on though or else you will need the special tool.

  • @thekkl Lube it with what,

  • @dawnofwho Lubricant. I just use chain lube but there may be a different lube you're supposed to use.

  • @thekkl I tried: you need something to pry it off (it's wedged in).

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver do you think a hammer will do it .. if not , maybe a bigger hammer ?

  • @BigCarpFoxRiver BMX bikes need them less then others :D

  • Thanks. I have old mtb which chain and wheels were completely worn out. Riding was a complete ache cause chain always jumped over wheel teeth. Before this I only had a little experienc of fixing bike and these videos helped me much and now I have fully functional bike again.

  • i need this becuz im putting tiny wheels on a bigger bike and neeed a smaller crank:)

  • Thanx this is just what I was looking for

  • Comment removed

  • yo im lost by my chain it has no quick link or any thing

  • You are going to have to either remove your rear wheel to get the chain loose enough to take off or get a chain tool to separate the chain.

  • yeah i got me a chain breaker at wally world

  • wow. Very useful video. Thank you! I'll subscribe for your videos for Sure!!!

  • $25 for a new BB and some borrowed tools abd your on your way to fixing your problem.

  • i didnt watch this video... my mouse dropped

  • what kind of bb is it?if it is a later (newer)kind it is a sealed unit and will have to be replaced ..if this comment is 3 months old you should h

    ave done it by now
