  • all these glowing strings and drums and guitars that light up is a good thing they were not invented 100 years ago they would contain radium like antique glowing watches

lol how bout make a nuclear jimba tower shape like ya see on the simpsons and at most older power plants and glows green and has the radiation symbol on the side lol

  • that looks fuckin sweet

  • woah. those sound so sweet, and look even cooler

  • Cool drums, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CYMBALS?!

  • very nice , so can i have it when your done.

  • nice drums. but sell them and hire a new sound guy.

  • FAIL

  • A Glowability factor!!!!!!

  • lol 3:54 sex moan xD sounded kinda hot lol

  • whoever tuned that snare ... good lord that thing sounds awful in this video. Probably the most seizure inducing kit ever made.

  • Hey all... thanks for the kind words. Just to chime in, the drums really are just about visual. The sound thing was a bonus. In my experience the SOUND of a kit in live performing is less important than the look. That reality is kind of a bummer, but it's a reality nonetheless. Some of my gigs are even all triggers. Just part of the deal in the broad landscape of live music these days. That being said, this kit is KILLER in the performance environment. Audiences everywhere just love it.

  • fuck SJC

  • It doesn't bode well for them that the video contains audio of them both complaining of the effects the lights have on them, including making headaches worse and heightening agitation when fatigued. That's like trying to sell a farmer a three-legged plow horse.

  • Cool as hell, but I'd never pay 4 grand for a kit. There doesn't seem to be enough 'craftsmanship' in the materials to warrant that -- just trippy, gimmicky computer-controlled lighting inspired by a little girl's night-light, -- actually a neat tale. The build IS nice and clean, though, or the sound wouldn't be as surprisingly lush as it is and the look wouldn't be as appealing. I'd like to hear them with the May miking system, which I thought was awesome. I don't know what happened to it.

  • yea id have no problem selling my family for this kit.

  • This is really fucking cool.

  • dude just throw some gen-16's on there

  • Comment removed

  • @d34dm4u5XI2ay dude you FREAKING read my mind, I was totally thinking that and with some sticks that glow too.... dat, to me, is a sick kit n i wud totally buy that

  • the goal is to get a seizure so you play super fast

  • this is so easy to make

  • @DJLUMEON how?

  • that would be great with some spaced out prog shit.. i would definately buy the ticket

  • Looks and sounds great

  • how much for the kit

  • Thumbs up I this should be in the shops!!! XD

  • no need

  • WOWOWOW nice nice nice

  • now combine it with glow-in-the-dark sticks!

  • I'd like to see what they look like onstage with the stage lights on, i'm guessing boring, white drums

  • @BrianMorrison71 Genius, Wtach the video again they change colors with either your setting or you can set them up with the lighting technician.

  • there is a kid in my school that says drummers are talentless soundeffect retards. Id like to see his punk ass invent something like this!!!!

  • have that warm feeling in my gut need to get this kit.

  • I had a ten piece kit of 66'Ludwig classics,I had them stored at a freinds house, and when he passed away his brother sold them, pissed off wouldnt come near to the frame of mind I was in.But your drums sound really good, and the color is kinda cool too,but I got a feeling Id have to take out a bank loan to buy a set.

  • the thing is they actually dont sound that bad they're just probably a bitch to manage

  • I want that. Now.

  • you missed out what would have blown peoples minds: if the drum flashed when you hit it, that would be awesome

  • Comment removed

  • Want.

  • This drumkit is worth the side effect (of my brain going numb and maybe some fatigue)...lol

  • Those are really, really cool. Suprisingly sound great as well! Brilliant idea...Next time I'm in mineappolis I want to play some risen drums!

  • Hey everybody. I appreciate all the comments and kind words. You all should know that this kt was just an idea... just a "what if" kind of thing. Once we got it done it was even cooler than we pictured, so I kept it. I use it mainly on a midwest Christmas tour with a vocal group from Minneapolis, and with a big kids show called Go Fish. It's perfect for those gigs, because it's flashy, but it's not appropriate for everything. I have a couple other kits to use whenever these aren't the right fit.

  • Umm.....this is a pretty cool show off kit, but it's 5G's. Honestly, if anybody is spending that much on light up acrylic kits, why wouldn't they just buy an 8 piece maple kit? This is honestly a stupid idea.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Perhaps they don't want a kit that big, perhaps they want an acrylic kit, perhaps they want something flashy, perhaps they already have a maple kit

  • @discohunter12 I understand if you already have a traditional maple kit and want something flashy, but there's no reason to spend so much money on it. Why not just buy a traditional acrylic kit for half the price, then install LED lights on your own? Again, I think that this is a stupid idea, simply because of the price.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Well, i'd absolutely love one if I could get something like a pressure sensor on it, so when it's hit it flashes, for some awesome lightshow, but still I get your point

  • @discohunter12 if you want a hit sensitive one, get spaun drums

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX

when you consider how much money you are saving on lighting equipment for just the drums alone, youre actually coming out on top a few g's.

  • those are cool looking..... and they sound great.... which means AWESOME!!!

  • Comment removed

  • how much would a drum set like that cost?

  • Thats not a XLR-cable.

Its a DMX-cable, which may have the same looks and plug as a XLR-cable, although they are digital instead of analog such as the XLR.

Thats what I think it is, and its not based on any facts!

  • @r0ekpoffen you're totally right man. DMX cables. I didn't know my cables back then!

  • So cool for live drummin' !!!

  • The kit sounds nice, looks nice but you're going to compete with the likes of DW, you better offer something more than glitz. If someone is going to shell out 5k for a new kit, are they going to buy a RD kit because it has lights? I would guess the majority of players with that kind of cash to burn are going to stick with the tried and true companies. You need to compete with price first. That being said, if I saw this kit being played at a club, I would be curious to see what they are about.

  • not bad sounding toms but the snare sounds like someone taking a dump on metal baking pan,

  • This is so trippy.

  • Pretty sick, I would loose timing looking at the lights . Lol hahaha nice set.

  • why u have a fusion floor tom?!

  • So the drums are DMX controllable? Coooooool!!!!

  • legit

  • I think im in love

  • I'm guessing coated skins

  • now you need glowing cymbals!

  • I thought it was cool... THEN I CHANGED FUCKING COLORS!!!!!!!

  • I dont play the drums, yet, I want this.

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • dam u risen drum nw i have to wipe my scrn! but wooooow wot a beautiful kit i cud've stared at that all evening

  • I think I've built the same kind of kit only a little larger and white hardware

  • Can you program the drum lights to change when you hit them???

  • Spaun makes the same kit with a slightly better sound.

  • 0:34 best and 0:17 are the best

  • how to you buy rien drums?

  • make the cymbols glow

  • Steve is a monster drummer and Glo Drums look like the coolest drum effect innovation ever - rock on!

  • stuff like this is probably too expensive, right? if i actually can buy one for 1500 dollars im sold NOW!

  • @maarten426

or you could make it yourself for much less

  • Luckely someone who can play them...

  • I'm Impressed, Now make those cymbals light up!

  • what's the price?

  • @luftgurra 10 billion $

No, ahm pretty expensive is my guess. Same prices as SJC, which means 1110 $ for a 22" bass drum. Then the lighting.

  • @luftgurra 50,000 deneros. more money that the richest kings in England can afford. :D

  • @luftgurra I got a quote for over 4k got a similar kit from SJC Drums for 2895

  • @luftgurra about 3500$

  • @tomekszpyra for that price, I'd rather buy a custom DW or Mapex kit made of actual wood..

  • @tomekszpyra Too disco man! No thanks! For that money I'd get PEARL E-PRO LIVE And have 300 left over. They do sound great though.

  • I'd love to see this in person haha.

  • Wow man! THAT IS FUCKIN AWESOME!

  • Very , very cool! next step : have them triggered?

Like this guy. search: Don't you LED mannekes000

  • hello - creamy kit! Can you tell me abit about what kind of led lights you used on this kit - lumen/effect?

  • That's EPIC

  • wow would be an awesome set, but my drummer probably would seizure out too much during a gig lol

  • do they sound good all round?

  • I've been looking all over. I'm just curious as to how much they cost? I'm heartset on buying one.

  • @Skankmaster90 I think they go for like $5,000

  • @USPhotoRecon 5000$? why not buy a vistalite set and put some LED's in it. thats rediculous.

  • @Skankmaster90 Well, 1). Risen Drums sound ammazinnggg. 2). its every drummers (who has a brain) dream to own a Risen Drum set. 3). most people who buy custom drums are to busy and/or dont know how to work on a drum kit. but yes, you could just do that.

  • did you guys made a custom kit for gabo landa right? he is a friend of mine, really sick player!

  • now you need glow cymbals and glow sticks

  • Check out my videos... My drums light up without batteries!

  • Do You Guys Make These For Production For Other People?

  • @Straightedge19 if you've got the money, Yes they do.

  • @DHBallard how much?

  • i think i honestly might have jizzed at just looking at that masterpiece of a kit!

i praise you risen drums and keith for being the greatest drum kit makers ever!!!!

    thank you :D:L

    i want it! :L

  • Seriously what is the estimated retail value?

  • how much did these end up costing to buy?

  • I want to buy from RD and i was looking for somthing very simalar. I really like the glow its amazing. Let me know your prefferd sizes for a snare, bass, and 2 floor toms on right hand side.

  • is there wood inside those drums?

  • @Zongyx nope... all RCI acrylic shells.

  • i wonder how much this kit is worth cause i want one

  • Steve,

Kit is really cool looking and most importantly sounds really strong, the snare in particular has a really classic sound for an acrylic.

    Eric

  • This video sounds really good. Could you tell us what you were using to record it?

    Thanks!!

  • @classicdrums hey there... thanks for the comment. we used a Flip HD camcorder. pretty nice compression on those things.

  • have an idea!!! put sensors on the drums to make them light up every time they are hit...!

  • @daking439

sjc did a drum set like that but even better

  • That is like worlds best and coolest drumset. I think I'm going to try out that night light idea.
