@evinsteven13 I actually know where to get it, Im in diff chemistry, so its not like I cant find it, but I am trying and failing to mock all the retards that seriously think they know what they are doing
I'm in 8th grade and studying this in chemistry. But there will be no demonstration. We did do a dry ice and liquid nitrogen demonstration and there were explosions
@SilentSanity420 This was a public event intended to promote interest in science and was directed at a young audience. The average age of the audience members was about 9 years old.
My chem teacher put potassium in water...it came in a oil solution and he dropped too much in water in the chem lab and it set the sprinklers off when it exploded. It kicked SO much butt because we got to sit outside for the rest of class.
You can use several different things to put out a sodium fire. Oil would not be a good choice because it can burn. CO2 would work but CO2 extinguishers tend to blow things everywhere and you don't want to blow a burning solid all over the room. Sand can be a very good fire extinguisher. It's cheap, pretty easy to clean up, and very chemically inert. It also does not blow things all over the place. In the case of a sodium fire, or other cases of burning solids, sand is usually your best bet.
i did that recently and im 12 we did it for an experiment in school
