  • do I have to add the ginger? cause when i've eaten at sushi restaraunts i've never tasted the ginger in it.

  • @misschristina11 If you don't want to, you don't have to. The recipe I used called for it, and it tasted pretty much the same as the Takoyaki I got in Japan. It's up to you, though. :3

  • @KisaraCrystal A lot of people have been asking this, (and I've been a bad youtuber 'cause I haven't been keeping up with it) but honestly I just typed "Takoyaki" one day into the google image search and this little guy popped up. He was my phone background for a LONG time, and when I made the video I decided to use him, 'cause he's cute. :3

  • PLEASE get a cutting board!! Telling people to cut food on a paper plate is not good. You can cut yourself. Love takoyaki!!! :)

  • octopus.....scares me x.x but im like 50/50 on this but takoyaki doesnt HAVE to be made wiht Octopus right? jsut original is made that way? what other things can be used?

  • my friend used chocolate. just dont use the sauce. also my friend used chicken, beef, pork, and just use ur imagination :)

  • when i was young, i didnt know what this was and hated the taste but you know how you grow up. i soon realized how much an idiot i was for hating something sweet and delicious! so now i love this and is a rare delicacy for me in my household... if only i could go back in time T_T~

    I eat fish, but the suction cups really give me chills.

    I've never actually tasted it, but it just doesn't look appealing.

    Everyone I know love clams, I didn't like them because of the look, but to be positive I tried them. Ugh XP, they didn't quite float my boat.

    Since then I don't eat things that don't look or smell good.

    How would you say octopus taste like?

  • It tastes a bit like Steak, I think. It's just reeeeally really chewy.

    If you want to try it, Takoyaki's a good way to do it, if you can find some. Since the octopus is cut into really really small pieces, you don't have to see the suction cups. :3

  • Well, I've seen recipes that use muffin pans as well (you'd bake it in the oven), though I've never tried it myself. Do you live near any Asian Supermarkets? That's where I found my takoyaki pan. You can also get them online, though prepare to really pay for the shipping if you take that route. This one ran me 20$ in Orlando.

  • I've heard of people using muffin pans and then baking the takoyaki in the oven, but I've never tried it myself.
