  • Good old Baffin islands. Ski movie 2 had this place featured back in early 2000s and it was such a blast to watch them fly off.

  • it must be so cold when they jump, it's probably already like -25 and then they are being hit with extremely cold wind it can cut your skin at that temperature.

  • I wish I wasn't afraid of heights lol

  • @STProductionFilms i'm glad i'm afraid of heights. it makes base jumping more thrilling

  • who is the jumper in the 0.45 section anybuddi??

    heez unreal.....

  • whats the song name? I'd really like to know, thanks.

  • 0:53 - 1:15 looks SO fake but I guess it isn't

  • ils volent! c'est pas possible hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • do u think it possible to slow down like a bird and land? just curious

  • @Qwertyplum69er I saw on ESPN about a month or two ago about a guy who is working with NASA to build a wingsuit that will allow a person to jump from a plane without a chute and land safely on the ground.

  • correct me if im wrong.. but in canada they make you do a few jumps tied to a instructor before u can solo jump... and you gotta do alot of low jumps before u can do the high freefall...? i would love to skydive but not attached to a dude

  • Baffin Island, and they use BASE specific rigs

  • GO HANNES!

  • he really got balls air race akrobations and this now xD well not now but........

  • wow

  • skydiving has changed my life... cant wait for BASE JUMPING HAHA

  • @MrMrSaturday I hope that when I skydive once I turn 18 that it will be that way for me too :-D. This stuff has always interested me so much...I can just imagine the adrenaline!

  • @guitarguru1191 where you at? i'm pretty sure here in canada you can be under 18 as long as your parents sign a waiver....you have to do a tandem but you can still skydive

  • @NotAsItSeemsToBe Yeah I'm in the great land of New Jersey -.-

We HAVE to be 18 no matter what :-(. I can probably wait though...i'm doing some wind tunnelling soon so at least i'll get some feel for it! :D

  • @guitarguru1191 We can do it at 16.

  • @MrMrSaturday you and me both, i can't wait to grow out of the cesna 182 diaper i'm in! gonna get me a wingsuit and a mountain :D

  • I got all fired up and just did a cannonball off my bed onto the carpet. Haha

  • @Imsotired07 LMAO nice man, your chute open okay?

  • RIP shane

  • anyone may told me what the song it is ?? i'll greatfull

  • There is nothing stopping you from base jumping without skydiving first. Buy a rig and jump. BUT, if you plan on living to see the next calender month, become an experienced skydiver first. Get BASE out of your head.

  • do you need some sort of liscence to buy your rig?

  • @zepper0800 I would totally agree, i can't wait to try it but not until i have my solo licence and about 300 jumps(from a plane) i doubt anyone would want to freeze up on their first BASE jump as you would not have as much altitude......good comment man

  • @zepper0800 sky diving is learning and base jumping is well doing that what u are learn, in sky diving if u made mestake u cant hit bulding or splas deck right that moment there u can see what u can or can not do and when u see what u can do then go on base jumping....

  • @zepper0800 Bollocks they'll have you sitting in a darkened room eating carrot sticks, light up a cig and smoke and buy a rig and jump :) Seriously though you do at least have to get an A licence first or there will be nowhere to jump unless you want to go balls out from building, and your chances aren't great.

  • u can go without one skydive ...... just try it ... take a parachute ... and lets go .... but i promise u if u cant controll your parachute and feel the wind and weather ... u maybe go for your first and last jump

  • @Jonezee2006 Sure, buy a parachute, find a nice cliff or bridge or building and jump off. Just don't get caught.

  • ive base jumped before it gives such an adrenaline rush

  • seriously dude it sounds f**** awesome how was it?

  • it is amazing go sky diving or base jumping its juts undescribable

  • cool, and yeah i will! i've gone bungy jumping which is also pretty awesome but sky diving and base jumping must be like 100x the experience :)

  • It takes massive balls to this

  • Agreeeeeeeeed... :)

  • what s the name of the song ? great vid and sound !!!

  • FYI, there will be BASE jumpers out at the antennas in rio vista tonight. It should be quite the show. Also go check the power towers out in antioch tomorrow night.

  • Wait so what your saying is it will be your first? Then dont judge if you've never done it bro. Its a lot harder than it looks.

  • Yes, mate. It is hard . But some of the Exit are looking REALLY SCARY.

  • Anyonw who cares, I'll be at the Auburn bridge tonight from 9 to 12 midnight, doing some BASE jumpng.

  • @LCPStud dumb ass

  • great camera work

  • wicked

  • anyone no what the height is from exit point to LZ?

  • rip shane.. shred it in heaven

  • did he die?

  • ya he died in a ski/base jumping accident after he hucked off a huge cliff and his chute didnt deploy.

  • actually he couldn't rip his skies off and therefore he didn't have the time to open his parachute

  • he base jumps with his skis on all the time. the problem was he was in a flight suit and apparently he couldnt right himself

  • Apparently he forgot the thing they teach you in FJC - PULL is the number one priority. No big mystery, he spent the rest of his life trying to get stable after the jump.

  • Are they using a helicopter to fly themselves in and from bottom to top...?

Or is it done the hard way with dogs, sleds, snowmobiles, foot...?

  • yeahhh, Godlike !!! respect

  • OMFG how long was there freefall? fuk!

  • what a feeling to throw ur self out of a clip like that

  • amazing oO

  • THATS SO SICK!

  • Great camerawork!

  • iu wanna do it sooo bad

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Sick Aerials! Sick camera work! Sick location! Off heading anyone? ---> 1:14 :D

  • lucky!

  • Is 2,147m the size of the fall or just the over all altitude?

  • i guess the over all altitube

  • Splinter...Mt. Odin's summit (where this BASE jiump occurred) is 2147m (7000 ft) above sea level. The valley floor is probably less than 300m (~1000) feet above sea level so the vertical fall is about 6000 feet.

    "Sick" barely describes it.

  • What would happen if you hit a bird in your face at top speed and knocked unconscious and is there a safety backup mechanism which deploys your main or reserve chute if you were unable to?

How far above the ground do you start your deployment and when is it fully deployed?

  • You die. There is no backup like some skydivers use. No reserve either. The chute will open in as little as 40 ft. You better make sure you give it waay more time than that.

  • Ha ha ha! That's pretty funny! Hannes actually wasn't on this trip with us but I wish he was!

Now I wanna see an Air Race video claiming that I am the one flying those planes!

  • heh, anyone can be anyone online I suppose. Keep living the life shane. mad props

  • man i knew we had mountains but i didn't know we had mountains like that

  • wow thats mad high! do they jump with skydiving rigs or still use base rigs when jumping this high?

  • Although I am not 100% sure, I reckon they used base rigs. At 0:44 I don't really see an upper and lower flap (main and reserve), but just one. Phil

  • What song is those???? =O

  • awesome

  • realy realy cool how high is the cliff in meter ?????

  • fantastic...

  • really good camera work
