Im more likley to get depressed by The Smashing Pumkins Adore album than any of Mansions music and theres no mention of suicide on that album. Its the tone of the music, but Im still not going to kill myself over an artist.

I think the issue here is that we can all discern what is right and what is wrong. If a parent went the wrong way with their children, it's a shame. But there are kids who are raised well and still turn out to be bad, that's just a fact. I don't like Michael Moore, and that is my right to say that, just as it is anyone's right to say they like him. I like Manson, I find him intelligent, witty and a good musician. Shock rock my friends, it's like the 70's with Kiss.

Having never seen this Michael Moore movie, because I am not a fan of his or really even like him altogether, Marilyn's response was so awesome and clear. Without any hesitation, he handled the questions with grace and understanding. I think he showed the people who were against him such as the "Religious Right" that to blame HIM was simply ignorant; just as ignorant as their child rearing. I am a fan, Marilyn, and you are awesome! (I am a mom of TWO teens and a toddler AND I believe in NRA).

That was kind of the point though, wasn't it? Michael Moore wanted to show everyone what a reasonable guy Manson is. Sometimes I wonder if Moore gives people time to think about questions off screen. Not to say his answer wasn't awesome, it was. I am a fan of some of Manson's work, and I think the religious right is totally off base blaming him for the shooting, but I don't think he's as sane as the filmmaker wanted him to be - I mean, he sexually assaulted a security guard.

Manson has always been very outrageous on stage -it's what he does. He is more "sane" than you think, watch a couple of other inetrview clips and you will see that. In fact, I think he's among the few sane things that are left in a world that's growing more and more insane by the minute. As for the "sexually assaulting" a security guard; he allegedly gyrated against the guy who then probably saw a great opportunity to make some quick cash by suing.

First of all: neither of them listened to Manson. They liked Rammstein, KMFDM, The Prodigy etc.
Second of all: why is everybody talking so much about music, videogames, movies etc in this case? They were to kids who had had a horrible childhood, and the rumours says that they were both, to put it this way, unpopular at school. That, I think, is the main source that has fucked up their heads, I don't think rather videogames or Marilyn Manson had any big influence on what they did.

They're probably not, but if they are, the question to ask ourselves is, why is it that there's a market for this music? Why is it that kids are so influenciable by this kind of music? You can't blame the music industry for that. People tend to focus on what stands out, not on the real problem.
