  • Definitely need to bring this back.

  • From what I heard he show and the book has absolutely nothing in common like Bob for instance he is a skull in the book. On the show he's a person. Or Murphy for that matter, she is supposed to have blonde hair. I don't know if the show is any good but I do know that I like the books.

  • i love this show!!!!!

  • I love Bob. Terrence Mann was so great in this.

  • how's your salami?

i about shot ice cream out my nose at that line

  • "Oh, no, nothing weird happened at all. Nothing! It happened exactly as I said it, just a knock on the head, and nothing interesting at all about it, no sirree. Also, the whole 'wizard' thing is bull. Really! I just put that on my door for kicks."

He has worse cover stories than the SGC. That is pathetically bad lying there.

  • " I got a giant submarine sandwich.'

    " Okay. "

  • if you would read the books you wouldnt need to ask those questions

  • I know. How many of the books have you read?

  • He's a bachelor. Why does he have lit candles all over his house? :/

  • according to the books, magic affect electronics, usually by shorting out or exploding lightbulbs- thus candles for light

  • I understand that part, but do you noticed that he came near the computer with no problems. I think that in this version of the dresden files, it is for ritual purposes.

  • He disrupts electricity/technology with his powers. The less advanced the better.

  • ghost make you see funny things. like drugs without the side effects

  • So seeing things isn't a side effect now?

  • How did he stop the bullets? I'm confused.

  • The braclet aparently deflects physical attacks as well as magical.

  • I'm guessing when he touched the bracelet, he made it so that the bullets were attracted to it.

  • Best show ever! Don't know why they cancel'd it...

  • I can watch all the other episodes but this one... after the first commercial the ball just spins and spins... has this happened to anyone else? What can I do?

  • Try refreshing the page.

  • You know I have to admit. I either didn't hear about this or did but passed it over. So I am catching up on episodes. On #2 now. I can't see why this didn't go further than 1 season.!?!? I'll catch up on books later but I really like this. Not over the top but still out there some w/effects and what not. Is there anything playing NOW that is similar.?

  • Closest thing might be Supernatural...

  • @mynyun Nic Cage was executive producer on this show. His character in the new Sorcerer's Apprentice movie is based off Harry Dresden. That's pretty much all we have for now. I'd sell my soul for this show to come back with new episodes and, of course, that ghost version of Bob. I like him a lot more than the skull.

  • bob is the best

  • Where is Dresden's staff?

  • It's the Hockey stick. They don't show it till a later episode.

  • man that grandma is horney

  • i guess the changes were neccesary for tv,

it would have been alot better if it was a bunch of short movies!

and book dresden was so much cooler tho =(

  • so far the best part about the show is the theme song. it better get more like the book or i will be sorely disappointed.

  • The Dresden in this show might as well be someone else entirely.

  • I have to disagree. I think he's very accurate to Dresden. He's powerful, clever, tall, snarky... Seems like Harry to me.

  • These episodes have more scenes than what aired on SciFi! I am impressed!

  • I feel Dresden was very true to character on here.

  • Body jumper? OOOOHHHH SSNAAP. Didn't see that coming....

  • wtf? harry dresdan fainting to bullets the guy battled gruffs harpies fallen and deflected bullets galore....no forzare! no anything? this show is good but it destroys him

  • they had to make it suspenseful, like he had died, but he hadn't really. but i agree, they could have done Dresden a lot better

  • I don't believe Dresden fainted because he saw bullets here. Later in the series he faces off a dragon with wit the episode Things that Go Bump. This is very true to Harry. Dresden panics in the books too. Dresden isn't perfect. He has moments of fear, here and in the books but he saves the day and that's what's important. This did not destroy Harry Dresden. It was very true to him in m opinion.

  • I still say James Marsters would have made the perfect Harry.

  • You should listen to the audio books, they have him reading, and yes, he is Harry.

  • I have read every Dresden File book. Where is Harry? His wit, his humor, his dry idealism, his magic? This is just a cop show. Harry is better than this. Read Jim Butcher's books. Find out who Harry really is.

  • I like the books and the show. I think the humor is pretty much the same. He's very idealistic here and he's got quite a few great powers on the show. Tracking spells, escape potions, voodoo dolls, protection against voodoo dolls, changing window signs, setting fires with a thought, summoning ghosts and demons, it seems pretty true to Harry Dresden if you ask me.

  • I think it's wrong to assume people who like the show are unfamiliar with the books. Why can't people like both? He certainly seems like Harry Dresden to me. Right down to the height. Paul Blackthorne became Harry Dresden.

  • i just wish they kept the blue beetle and his duster for the show. i mean, they're little details, but they're part of what make harry himself.

  • Beetles are cramped. The actor playing Harry is over six feet tall. The jeep lacks complex technology too so it serves the same purpose without hurting Paul Blackthorne. Dusters are hard to move around in. Some changes were necessary.

  • oh, thats so sad. I miss the almighty Blue Beetle

  • he became Harry Dresden. He didn't become Wizard Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, Warden of the White Council, friend of the Knights of the Cross, starter of the war between the council and the Red Court of Vampires, t-rex riding, kick ass, sarcastic, hilarious private detective. oh and by the way, none of that's in the show

  • i just started watchin this today and i'm hooked

  • This show gets more fans by the day. Lionsgate has the rights to it until 2012. I wish they would do something with it while they can.

  • yeah. it is an amazing book series, and they did a fantastic job with the show, even with the slight changes they made with it.

  • I agree, Vagrantknight. I love this show. I actually think they improved certain things for the show, particularly with the character of Bob.

  • Ah yeah..... I love this show.

  • I love The Dresden Files too.

  • if anybody can tell me why they cancelled this show you would be the best person EVA

  • I don't think anyone really knows why this show was not renewed.

  • Because Sci-Fi had to make room for more interminable 'Ghost hunter' silliness :p

  • It's sad that they spend so much money on Ghosthunters but won't keep The Dresden Files going. The Ghosthunters, in my opinion, is a mockery of real parapsychology and paranormal research.

  • yup ghost huntard is crap compared to dresden files..

  • 15:26 Leave Miller alone! Leave him alone!

  • Yes, that was a well delivered line. Valarie Cruz (Murphy) was great in this. She got nominated for an ALMA for her portrayal of Murphy in The Dresden Files.

  • I can't figure it out. No one has been given a straight answer as to why the show was not renewed. A lot of people mistakenly think it had low ratings but really it was the third highest rated show on the Scifi Channel during it's original run.

  • Second Highest

  • This ghostly episode would come back to haunt Harry later in the season. God, I miss this show. I would give anything to see this show come back.

  • is there only the one season?

  • Unfortunately yes. There's no real explanation why The Scifi Channel did not continue this. It was the third highest rated show over all for the channel in 2007. I remember thinking 'Surely they won't cancel the only wizard show on television just before the seventh Harry Potter book comes out.' But I was wrong. And at the time this was the only wizard based show. This was over a year before Legend of the Seeker started and that Disney channel one wasn't out yet either. I miss this show.
