@americanTrucker4life is right about the switch to the odometer. it runs on the same wire as the governor, but the odometer changes in the video which makes it hard to believe. all the other ways to do it on a cavy get more complicated. And considering his "No turbo stock internals car," its hard to believe that just add ons would increase acceleration that much. I used to drive the same car. it takes forever to get from 90 to 100

Not too sure about the ones before 2002 but my 03 LS sport could not be removed / programmed. You had to remove the whole system and place an after market one in it. It cost me money but it was worth what I got out of it.

@AmericanTrucker4Life Weather his video is real or not, here's some facts, #1 he never said it was a new GM model Cavalier and u can easily tune the PCM and take the limiters out of the engine, I did it on my car and it hits 130 now. #2 when u put in after market gauges it isn't that hard to have a shop calibrate them to match the car properly, how do u think they do it in the first place? Every speedo and tachometer is calibrated at one point. #3 I agree with u on...just saying.

@AmericanTrucker4Life #1 you cant even see the tach, #2 he could have gotten the governor removed, my cav will go way past 110 easy since i flashed the ecu and removed the limiters
#1 a dealer can remove the governer #2 on the 5 speeds you can put a switch on the main wire from the speed sensor from the tranny to the ECU to cut off the signal. I did this and maxed it out at 245km/h on an old air strip on GPS with an 02 Z24 2.4L... I dont recommend doing this on the street with a cav as the brakes suck at that speed and it also cuts off the odometer.
@AmericanTrucker4Life well 1 you can get the Limiter turned off because they are only there for Tire rating. 2 you can easily get your Speed-o recalibrated cheaply.. and 3 even tho he is gay, he can watch what ever he wants.. lol

Yes they are good times, problem is the corvettes still were slow out of the box, it took quite a bit of work to get them faster, headers are a good start and then the project just kills the wallet usually! Corvettes are slow, must have took alot of work to get the numbers, they are usually a high 12 to mid 13 car depending, and thats factory, the new stuff is adversly better but still not what it should be for the price! @AmericanTrucker4Life first i like to say that this guy does make us ecotec owners look bad and also i have the hp tuners and removing the speed limiter is very easy i get to about 130-135 before the rev limiter kicks in second to everyone else who says these ecotec suck they are actually quite fast stock i beaten neons, preludes, jettas, 240sx and v6 mustangs and it's my daily driver

@ralf72004 well anyone can beat a neon! lol but top speed means nothing in most types of racing, I'm go to assume you "drag race" on the street if so top speed means nothing it's all about how fast you can get there. Tractor Tailer's are capable of 140+mph but do you have any Idea it takes to get there?????

@AmericanTrucker4Life I agree with you all the way except that-yes all new gm cars have speed governors (my 00' cavy z24 does) but they can be reprogrammed/removed. So you can go faster then 110 if you take it to the shop, and let them work their magic.

I know this cause i did it. but other that that ur absolutely right man. the whole very fast cavalier thing.... maybe if it hit 140 id agree but otherwise nah its all stock and slow.

@AmericanTrucker4Life Hey dipshit, your #2 is wrong...putting white face gauges on has nothing to do with the Needle it stays in the factory location so that means if the white face gauge says it's doing 110 and under it says it's doing 120, that means it's doing 120!!, and if you have the know how or know someone that does....you can remove the Rev limiter!!!

@That1CanadianGuy Clearly you have never had any of these gauges, because if you had then you would know the numbers are higher on the white face gauges. Let me explain this a little better so your simple mind can understand. If the REAL speedo underneath says 100 and the white face gauge says 140 your only doing 100! Understand? and yes before anyone else says something about removing the Governor yes I know you can remove them but 99% of people either dont know they can be or don't remove them

@AmericanTrucker4Life Weather his video is real or not, here's some facts, #1 he never said it was a new GM model Cavalier and u can easily tune the PCM and take the limiters out of the engine, I did it on my car and it hits 130 now. #2 when u put in after market gauges it isn't that hard to have a shop calibrate them to match the car properly, how do u think they do it in the first place? Every speedo and tachometer is calibrated at one point. #3 I agree with u on...just saying.

@AmericanTrucker4Life Well still, u can calibrate the gauges after u put them on, and even wrapping it around past the 110 on there he only got around to 125ish, thats possible, the only thing that looks off is the acceleration but who knows, could be turboed or something.

#1 a dealer can remove the governer #2 on the 5 speeds you can put a switch on the main wire from the speed sensor from the tranny to the ECU to cut off the signal. I did this and maxed it out at 245km/h on an old air strip on GPS with an 02 Z24 2.4L... I dont recommend doing this on the street with a cav as the brakes suck at that speed and it also cuts off the odometer.

Yes they are good times, problem is the corvettes still were slow out of the box, it took quite a bit of work to get them faster, headers are a good start and then the project just kills the wallet usually! Tuners are where the market lies nowdays, its crazy to think 4 cylinders are putting down numbers where just a century ago it was left up to engines with twice the cubes!
I have a few months to go with my dakota also, I never said fast but its ok, hard on tires though!

Dodge Dakota, 318 V8 4x4 etended cab, runs honest mid 13's!
Corvettes are slow, must have took alot of work to get the numbers, they are usually a high 12 to mid 13 car depending, and thats factory, the new stuff is adversly better but still not what it should be for the price! My little Dakota is going to get alot of work this summer, its worn out and in need of a rebuild but thats also a 300k drivetrain!
She is still around 325 horse but a little low on oil pressure for my liking!

@julesandjosh dude high 12 to mid 13's are damn good times for stock cars. m honda runs a 13.7 all motor but as of now my turbo build is almost done on it. i got garret t3 turbo jdm intercooler greddy bov everything is on besides piping issues..im sure with some good slicks ill show your truck how a honda(still slower than my corvette) will woop your truck, give me about 2 to 3 months after tuning and a few terack runs ill post my vid up!..and if i had one of the vette you woulda shit yourself!

Wow, the stupidity amuses me greatly, maybe its time to get a new speed sensor becouse the damn car was just entering 3rd gear with an auto tranny and you were doing around 70mph, I will have to try when our 2002 cav gets back home tonight! Speed sensors are an issue with people who try and upgrade dasboards on these gm econoboxes! top speed for that car with the limiters off is still only around 125 and they shure as hell dont get there that fast!
