love Frank, a Huge Sinatra fan I am.

HOWEVER. Wondering if you guys have ever heard the Ella Fitzgerald, or The Cab Calloway versions. The latter being a but old school agreed.

I had only heard these two versions of the song, and Frankly(forgive the pun) I find this version hard to love like I did the others.

Do we just love what we hear first? If anyone can be bothered, or already knows how they feel about Cab and Ella versions, maybe they can share their thoughts?

@TonusAMaximus Ella does a great version of this although the lyrics lose something when converted to a "women's song." Calloway, OTOH, while listenable lacks the blues feel of either Frank or Ella; Cab's just a little too cheerful.

@AllBobsAllTheTime Cab's just being Cab. I personally like his version the best. It's kinda like, "Damn. I got kicked out on my rear again. Oh well. Whatcha' going to do?" Frank's version is way too slow and somber, although I do like Ella's take.

Beautiful video, so expressive, with all those images figuring out blue nights, blue landscapes, blue states of mind and so on. And a great natural powerful voice. It's incredible how some songs allow us to see something directly. I seemed to walk along the streets of a big city, on hearing the wind instruments.

Thanks, 'SUN'. I recently discovered that Nelson Riddle did NOT conduct this track; he was on tour with Nat 'King' Cole at the time Frank recorded the majority of the album, so Felix Slatkin filled in, using Riddle's arrangments...
