Saddam was a ruthless dictator who routinely tortured and killed his own people to stay in power but.. there were no weapons of mass destruction and the suggestion that there was may only have been Geo Jr's pretense for finishing what Geo Sr. started. In hindsight, it was a terrible price to pay for a war that accomplished more damage than good.
