i decided to research this myself. my results:

-howstuffworks says "one way mirrors are commonly used in police interrogation rooms"

-about.com says about a difference from a 2 way mirror and an ordinary mirror

-Wikipedia says they're the same thing (aka 2 way mirror, 1 way mirror, and 1 way glass are all the same thing w/ different names)

so as long as u don't call it an "ordinary mirror" it goes by both names.
