The movie was ALMOST great. McAvoy was fantastic, as was Fassbender, and the story is wonderful and deeply engaging. The periphery characters were somewhat flat and the young actors didn't bring much to them, especially in contrast to these two incredible leads. Fortunately, they and Bacon carry the film. The depth of character and chemistry brought by McAvoy and Fassbender elevates the film far beyond the "comic movie" genre.

Some of the stuff in the movie was a bit inconsistent... I rewatched X2 and X3, and in X2 the Beast was on TV as human form talking about the mutant situation. In the beginning of X3 it shows Charles and Erik going to Jean's house and Charles is walking so...

See, well, if you think about it. This took place before X-Men was even created, so Scott Summers wouldn't really be in it yet. Since 'Summers' is a common last name...well... there you go! And since Charles and Erik split up AT THE VERY END (I don't think that's a spoiler to anyone is it? It's kind of obvious that it happens) Mystique wouldn't have been able to do it with Azazel yet and create Nightcrawler. Therefore, it makes sense.

This guy was fking awesome as a young Xavier as was magneto, I collected comics when I was young so I understand peoples concern about continuity but we have to accept Marvel has had 40+ years to tell these stories, these guys have 2 hours .... plus Emma Frost and Beast's intro are spot on in line with the comic especially Emma's being a member of the Hellfire club, her cameo in Wolverine was BS.

yes, the alex summers thing is wierd, but if you read the first issue, prof x was already in a wheel chair and magneto was their enemy. this movie is taking place even farther before that. the only difference i see is that beast didnt become blue until later, but that's alright with me. this movie is gonna be awesome. hope they mention nightcrawler!

The movie-verse and the comic books are two separate worlds. Marvel movies are always based on the comics, yes, but they always emphasize that the movies have to have their OWN identity. Not everything in the movies will be consistent with the comics.
