  • Experiment you good and plant .im like experiment you

  • hey what song is this again

  • im a christ believer and this video is offensive to me and the christian community. i cant believe the scientits of this world would lie and show obvious CGI to confuse the way ofthe rightbelieve (the strong christian right) shame on you all for teaching lies of the devil

  • @dawnofmonkey i agree

  • @dawnofmonkey yous troawlin

  • What dressing did you use?

I use Rasberry Walnut. It's fantastic.

Make a vid on osmosis for hot wings.

  • OZZY AND DRIX Q:

  • OSMOSIS JONEEEEEEEES SON!

  • what is the name of the music!?!

  • how is the texture and taste?

  • wow so cool!

  • but if you leave it in the water too long.. dont the cells blow up? because theres too much water inside the cells? or is that.. only for small things? D: I dunno help

  • i don't get it...

  • if thats osmosis, wheres drex?!!

  • I give you something to eat!

  • LOLOLOL

  • very good and funny video !!! i have tried it at home

  • Dieses Video ist schlecht!

  • hehe i always do this to my lettuces

  • Mrs.Willard/Flo is AWESOME!!! I absofruitly love the MUSIC for this! It makes me wanna GROOVE!!!

  • Wait but isnn't the cabbage diltuted ans so shouldnt the left over water from the cabbage be moving into the water... becasue from what i see this is just defusion and the cabbage and the water reach equilibrium? can someone explain please.

  • @DevonCousin equilibrium is to reach balance on both sides. In this case, there is more water outside (100% water) the lettuce than inside (probably much lower, like 10% or something). So the water moves into the lettuce to reach equilibrium.

It's like a sponge. If you put a slightly damp sponge into water, will the water move out of the sponge and into the basin of water? No. The water moves into the sponge because there is less water in the sponge.

  • :O Very awesome!

  • Great work thanx, i will use this in my class...

  • thats actually kinda cool

  • cool..

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!!

  • does anyone know the name of the song used?

  • @ptv360 It's from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker: Russian Dance Suite.

  • @ptv360 Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance from the ballet The Nutcracker

  • This is not osmosis it is diffusion

  • @benyamin12345 Wrong. Learn you bio.

  • @benyamin12345

Osmosis is a type of diffusion.

  • Oh yay! cuz u kno we all just want soak our salad in water for 3 hours so it will have black crusty edges! I can run to the store and get "Fully Osmosis'd" Salad in 5 minutes =D By the way, why would video a bowl of water with a piece of salad in it for 3 hours? |= Lol i dont think Osmosis'd is a word, I just randomly came up with it =D

  • @Radcliff2107

they r only doing this video to show science, stupid

  • we watched this in science... but it was too a dffferent song!! it was a funny song and i cant find it!!! :L

  • This video is full of WIN! :D

  • ITS ALIVE :D

  • Do penises copy off osmosis?

  • you can experiment this on yourself as well. take a few pounds of salt and eat it all. the salt will absorb all the water in your body and you will die.

  • damn. i meant to put a thumbs up. but clicked the wrong thumb...

  • lame,weak,bogus

  • @shutemdwn Or drink a few litres of destilled water in a short time. Your cells will explode. Repeat this a few time and you'll die.

  • @shutemdwn hahaha thats a great way of looking at it LOL

  • @shutemdwn omg I just shat myself. Too funny!

  • @shutemdwn LMFAO

IM DYING AT THAT COMMENT XD

  • @shutemdwn or you can drink a lot of distilled water, which will cause your blood cells to absorb too much water and then you will die

  • Great music for this video! Thanks!

  • liquids in high concentration will actively seek areas of low concentration, because the lettuce contains less volumetric water the water that surrounds it moves to equal that concentration.

If you leave a raisin in water for a few days it will turn into a grape again - a very disgusting looking grape but still a grape.

  • unbelievable !

  • That is sooo cool! Our class watched this in science class today! =D We're learning about cell membranes. So boring!

  • this is so AWESOME

  • Bravo! My science students ate it up!

So good I wish you would also do an egg (giant real cell) version:

a)De-shelled egg swelling in hypotonic soln

b)Swollen over-sized egg shrinking in hypertonic soln

  • salad is sexy

  • Ahhh Get It Now :)

  • thank you, now, i understand what osmosis is.

  • it looks the same lol

  • someone please tell me what this music is!!!!!!!

  • Did you eat the lettuce?

  • did you use distilled water?

    just fresh water?....

  • I just normal tap water, but you can use distilled water if you like.

  • haha yeah use dest. water to wash out all the minerals u have stored in your body - thats osmosis :)

  • @khymos You just a word.

  • 3 and a half hours to make my lettuce look fresh?

thatnks for the video, it looks cool but i think i'll just leave that experiment to other people.

  • musik is great! but the problem is that because of osmosis the cells will take up too much water and will destroy the cell with a result that the salad will only look fresher but will taste old

  • not. plant cells contains walls that prevent them from bursting due to osmotic pressure.

therefore it will continue to absorb water until the original (fresh) balance is reached, at which point the lettuce will be firm again. the osmosis will stop then.

  • Absotively correctumondo.

  • thanks.not really

  • OMG I LOOOOOOVE THE MUSIC this really helped me with my project thanks whoever made this :)

  • OMG what is wrong with the music is she sleep talking or something i had to mute it

  • Omg the music is crazy!

  • i still wouldnt want to eat it

  • i'd rather just eat it dry :P Or, just not let it go dry =D

  • Thats very cool.

Although you do realise that in four hours you could have driven to the market and back and gotten a new lettuce ? :)

  • @abstractgourmet but that costs money... see, smart thinking lol

  • Comment removed

  • Also, this is kind of intense music for a lettuce hydration video. I'm still going to have to try it next time I'm bored and see how it taste.. probably like old wet lettuce..

  • @abstractgourmet ya, but you save money and do a cool science experiment this way.
