  • Yes, you are correct. This was land that was put too much pressure on by machinery, and then with the pressures from the water behind it, it just gave way. On a good note, the earth, the land is reclaiming it's integrity here. The earth will always have the final say.

  • This was an abandoned tin mine in Indonesia, it was excavated too close to the ocean and after several years of mining the leaks got too bad to stop.

  • I wish I could understand what they were saying, but I have an idea that they were debating whether or not to keep filming or run for their lives.

  • Mother nature is pretty pissed!

  • Chuck Norris stomping his foot in anger = that

  • Woah that was scary, especially at 1:48 it feels like the whole world is falling apart

  • that's what happens when you mine and cut trees.. mine golds and take earth's destruction at the end..

  • "...sliding is a strange and sickening thing for land to do." (Douglas Adams) It is mind-twisting when solid ground suddenly becomes a liquid .

  • This place is now a beautiful cove that is 1/2 mile wide.

  • chuck norris do that with the mind

  • sweet video

  • Versatile piece of real estate that. Out of the mining business and into the marina business in 10 minutes flat.

  • If they keep drilling for oil and Mining for coal and ore and etc ,there won't be muh of earth left.

  • We just saw a landslide up in Nagano.

    Damaged a cabin very bad.

  • The end of the earth

  • Just goes to show how powerful mother natures force is. Our human race must take care to preserve our world!

  • @Roadkill558 mother nature has nothing to do with it. the mine was build by humans!

  • Sure AidenV, after all this little event is not an OMG moment is it ?

  • That was very wierd!! It looks like a disaster movie!! LOL

  • Eternal flooding! Run!

  • yay new lake front for a housing development. jk

  • that would have been amazing to see in real life.

  • This incident took place in Pantai Remis, Perak, Malaysia. I've been searching for this. Thanks for posting!

  • Well, you got an amazing waterfall out of it.

  • impressive

  • Is that a Lake or The Ocean pouring in at the end of the video? How far away was the person filming this?

  • @LambuvGod I'm no expert, but I think that was the dam to a tailing's pond. The water they pump from the mine has to go somewhere that is contained. It could be the dam failed and that's just water and sludge removed from the pit.

  • @Zincon48 I saw a show called Gone in Seconds.....and they did a segment on this clip and the water pouring, according to them is the Indian Ocean believe it or not......last about 10 seconds of the show, has a satellite picture of the mine before and after photos....very impressive.....

  • @LambuvGod Really? Oh, dang. When you look at the video, you actually can see the body of water there is pretty big.

Mine operator must have been pretty angry and disappointed when his entire mine was filled with Indian Ocean.

  • @Zincon48 Yea...caught the end of the show a couple of days ago and this clip was featured......gnarlyest land slide in my opinion ever caught on tape......the mine owner knew ahead of time and called his friend to videotape it.....pretty cool footage

  • @LambuvGod NOT Gone in Seconds....but....DESTROYED IN SECONDS....Sorry my bad.......

  • @LambuvGod 500 meter away

  • @yeerang Are you the one who shot this video??? If so AWESOME JOB!!!!!

  • @yeerang and first question?

  • This is NOT a landslide. This is a open pit mine on the edge of a water body that failed and collapsed. This is a mining failure. An engineering failure. I'm glad it was video taped. Interesting. Where is it located exactly?

  • @DAILEYericCaryUSA see the tittle of this video u dumbass

  • @fuckurmother6969 ...

u r the god of trolls. I starve trolls. b gon

  • @DAILEYericCaryUSA

yea ne agree, indeed it's a silly mining technique, dig a very large open pit where a very large body of water sit just meters away with their might how could these natural soil that now become the wall could sustain the pressure, water seepage etc etc..

I call it an open grave! Anyway it was the Chinese in Perak, Malaysia.

  • @DAILEYericCaryUSA Yup. The engineers responsible for this faux pas really should have seen this coming. This is sloppy-ass science.

  • Amazing and awesome in the true sense.

  • im sure someone has said it at somepoint, but 2012 tsunami? lol probly dosnt help that i just saw the movie as well LOL

  • What does this area look like now?

  • @Amal757 Wet!

  • Truely amazing!

  • That would be nice to go over the edge on a body board at the end :)

  • amazing never seen something about

  • WOW!

  • It's amazing the rock flowing like water. The water only appears ~1:50.

Google "rock avalanche fluidization" if you don't belive me

  • gruesome! this probably what will look like when the world ends

  • Sorry, NatGeo does have documentary about landslides.

  • how would you know you are safe from you are standing where this video was shot?

  • Amazin!!! I have never seen such a thing. I didnt even think a video of a landslide waiting to happen existed!!! Wonder why the Discovery Channel, National Geographic or BBC World make a documentary about landslide desasters. Just incredible what this video depicts!

  • incredible footage. pity about the poor camera-work. but I understand that you were in a hurry.

  • looks like the end of the world

  • I wonder if they thought to warn beach roamers or people in boats knowing what was about to happen. Anybody in a boat nearby would have been swept in. In fact, I'd like to know what that is at 2:34 that we see all the way to he right going over the edge.

  • no it didnt

  • Holy Cow, that's - truly - a once in a lifetime thing to see. That last footage... I'd be looking behind me to see where I'd be running to!

  • Comment removed

  • I think we can find that out for you. What languages can you read? Then I can translate the description of the video into your language...

  • English please!

  • wow props to the guys recording, personally if something like was to happens i would be the first to DIP outta there

  • WOW!!!

  • holy shit

  • Roland Emmerich , eat your heart out !

  • it looks like a Niagara waterfall :O

  • ohhhh dam...... mad monkeys playing with nature fainally got very good results. What a fool guys.......

  • Did a bit of searching... Look up "Pantai Remis landslide" in Wikipedia for more info and map links.

  • yeah, the visual effects in 2012 were wack.

  • kejadian berlaku di pantai remis perak..

sekarang terbentuk sebuah lagun yg sgt indah..

  • Good video, well done.

  • just like in that movie 2012 :)

  • Here's the cove that was formed. Pretty awesome, they should do this more often! I'd buy tickets

  • oh dear...

  • This is 1 of the most amazing natural (or man made) disasters ever caught on tape. This video should have millions of views its been on here for so long.

  • At 2:33-2:35 whys does it look like there are kayakers beeing sucked in?

  • wish i could have been there to watch it

  • This is amazing. Where is the exact location of this occurence? I want to check the site in Google Earth. Probably a new lagoon is formed after the event.

  • The guy filming this is waaay too close for comfort in my opinion :-O

  • Ooooooh indeed!

  • Holy Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • actually extracting minerals is a huge problem, unless you don't believe environmental degradation is a issue...

  • No, "mother nature" is NOT punishing us for our greed! There's nothing wrong with extracting minerals from the earth, and I don't think many of you would like living in the poverty of a primitive society where they didn't do that. Incredible video, though. Thanks!

  • condorridge: there IS something wrong with damaging the biosphere in order to do so. the fact is, mine owners need to be forced to figure out ways to extract minerals without harming the planet. There ARE ways of doing so profitably.

  • Absolutely amazing video. One of the best on YouTube. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Seaside? Was this mine below sea level?? Is that the ocean coming in??

  • Sure this isn't an illicit clip from 2012?

  • haha, pretty sure, lol looks like it though...Its in the indian ocean, and at he end of the video its the very ocean breaking the quary walls, no injuries amazingly!

  • hi

good video clip, if I want to make use of this footage for TV broadcast program, what should I do? I saw this video in a program by TV station in US

  • Holy SHIT!

  • thank you for posting this, yeerang

  • mother nature's wrath, punishing us over our greed.

  • Amazing footage and disaster. Yeerang, did you stop filming to save your life? One of the best vids on Youtube......

  • NOT, if I quit , the video would not be come out on you tube

  • Did they just make a river?

  • the element tin is used for tin cans... that's why it's called "tin" cans

  • No, "tin cans" that you currently buy are all made out of aluminum or steel.

  • That's actually an old wives tale. There never was such a thing as a pure tin can. It has always been tin coated steel. Modern cans are thinner and lighter but they are still tin coated steel.

  • Great video, not sure how this is a ruined environment.....just new beachfront property. Hurricanes do this every year........but I would never hire the idiot who excavated so near to the ocean without adequate shoring.
