  • I can't fucking hear Jonny's awesome guitar!!!

  • I LOVE HIM

  • best song ever...

  • JONNY'S HAIR!

  • @newjerseyjew But Thom notoriously hates Oasis so I doubt he wanted to mimic their sound on this song. I personally don't hear it.

  • I read in an Interview that Thom did back in the 90's that on OK Computer that he just wanted to make 12 songs by bands that he really liked, this song always reminded me of an Oasis ripoff. kinda mimicking Oasis.

  • @newjerseyjew I hear "drive" by REM!

  • @newjerseyjew Mimicking Oasis? Pull the other one!!

  • is this the Neil Young version??

  • On the other hand, how bad ass does Collin sound?

  • Why Jonny guitar don't have VOLUME?

  • I prefer the lyrics Thom sang in this performance to the studio one, and I love Ed's backing vocals.

    @ 1:50

Riot shields. Voodoo economics... bullshit, bullshit

The IMF is taking care of (your) business... bullshit

I hope I can rely on your vote

  • the bass is awesome but johnnys guitar is what makes the song. Not too sure about the having ed sing at the same time.

  • Awesome early version!

  • Johnny's guitar? No, you don't do that, you just don't do that.

  • why is jonny's guitar so ridiculously quiet?

  • Needs more cowbell!

  • Brill!

  • I have this whole concert on my profile in DVD quality :).

  • @AustinBrock ahh, you sure do, AustinBrock... you sure do ^^

  • @AustinBrock AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR THAT

  • woah it's weird to see Ed with such a prominent vocal role! other than paranoid android it's not often that you hear him sing that much

  • Now he sings a lot. And excellently, too.

  • "we are Radiohead" and one day you will tell your grandchildren you were here.

  • @EtcEtcAndEtc Very good comment!

  • god he is just so freakin cool!

  • God i wish they'd left these harmonies in! I love this :)

  • why the hell did they edit jonnys guitar out?!?!

  • 3:22 has got to be the best thom yorke screaming ever

  • I have this concert on my profile in full :).

  • - Hello, We are called Radiohead and we are pleased to meet you on this cold, wet, shitty day.

  • rofl

  • thom yorke*

  • i like how you think radiohead is person. made me laugh for a long time.

  • I like the acoustic in these early versions.

  • Oooooooh, I like this middle eight and the screamy bit ;D

Basically the whole alternate ending to the song here is just awesome.

  • k estraño k jonny antes tokara en volumen bajo alguien sabe xk?

  • ????

  • ed sounded good in that vocal wise, but i wish jonny was louder

  • "this is one of our new songs" haha

  • what album???

  • Ok Computer

  • ya fooool

  • cool version...

  • this is a side of radiohead I have never heard. It's almost like doom country.

  • whats doom country

  • LOL It's a genre I just invented. Just the way they play it, especially the vocal harmony, provides an ominous contrast to the country/bluegrass music.

  • nice doom country. i like

  • XD, yeah i like the folk feeling of this version too

  • i see what you're talking about -- the acoustic, bass, and sing a long

  • It's fascinating to see how they developed it from this to OK Computer. It DOES sound a bit country/bluegrass (well, I'm surprisd) but is more alternative prog-rock on the album and I would think, since? Haven't had the pleasure yet of seeing them live (sob).

  • so good :)

  • the rain suit is fucking priceless

  • Dude, even the faces that Thom makes in this video are priceless. For example -

1:50, 2:50, and when he says "Bullshiiiiit, Bullshiiiiit!!!!"

  • You're hard

  • @icantfindanamethis coldplay saw this and wrote the song yellow :D

  • i love the fact that Thom's wearing a full-body yellow rain suit.

  • Horrible mix. If I was in that crowd I wouldn't not have expected the masterpiece that was thrust on the public only a year later.

  • Nah man, I kinda like this version. It's like a bar band interpretation. And who doesn't love Thom's piercing screams during the end? He's barely ever done those death growls before, and I didn't know he could pull it off!

  • my fav radiohead next to paranoid android

  • Great song but this version kinda blows

  • I agree. Jonny needs to turn it up. And Ed's mic needs to go down a bit. Not the best way to start their show, but when they played Lift, it evened it all out.

  • I love this live version

  • is jonny wearin headphones?

  • Yes, they might be for cold weather or to hear better.

  • The person who mixed this should be shot on the spot. Where the hell is jonnys guitar?

  • You can hear Ed very clear in this version ;D

  • Excellent video (and performance!); appreciation due.

That last second glitch/loop thing just completes it though (the whistle XD ) - it had me in stitches, lol

  • me too hahaha

  • did he say, "this is one of my new songs" at the start?

  • "this is one of our new songs".

And yeah, OK Computer was released in 1997.

  • is there any realeased album or bootleg i can find this live version on? i really neeeeeed it :(

  • Nuevamente, gracias por subirlo! Increible interpretacion, y los gritos de Thom son geniales! Pero me habria gustado ver mas a Jonny.

  • que buen video, te pasaste

  • very happy to see colin's bass turned up here.

  • the harmonies are awesome here...even better than the recorded version

  • At 3:09 Thom speaks in tongues--I think he is possessed or something.

  • Turn up the Jonny! =]

  • radiohead = god

  • Ha ha ha! Quality intro;)

  • a yellow anorak and matching pants...god, only thom would wear that and still look cool. xD

  • The image for this video maked Thom look like Prince Harry.

  • que buena canción

    un saludo

  • Country Western Electioneering?

    Awesome.

  • the image for this video makes thom look autistic. Sweet.

  • Thom reminds me of those yellow traffic cones...

  • so yellow...his voice is so fuckin,brilliant!!!!

  • It sounds allot like R.E.M I think.

I like it but i prefer the OK Computer version.

  • I'm so glad they dropped this version, lol. I know it's not the greatest thing on OK Computer, but it still works greatly. Just as the ending changes, even Thom here looks like he is shaking is head, lol

  • I see you haven't fully acknowledged the awesomeness that is Electioneering. This live version is pretty great.

  • Ah, 3 months ago, how naieve my past self was! I do, of course, like Electioneering a lot, it works really well in the place it is! But again, I only just said it wasn't the greatest thing on that album, which surely is true!

  • haha, that's the best way to welcome a crowd thom.

  • its pretty good here but im glad they depeloped it into what it became. was missing something in places.

  • Yep

  • lol, he looks funny in that yellow raincoat. haha, its all dark and gloomy, and out of nowhere a huge yellow guy XD

    Radiohead rocks :D

  • This is the version that should have been on OK computer.

  • Bullshit. You just say that because it wasn't, if you know what I mean?

  • Sing to me Ed

    Sing your heart out

    Oh Ed

  • its always a treat to hear ED harmonize..

    its quite underrated..

the latest clips of radiohead at 93 east have some nice ed moments

  • They turned down Johnny's guitar :(

    That's the best part.

  • it's the early version

    But fucking good version

  • This song is fucking sweet!!

  • hmm, methinks someone doesn't want to admit they are wrong.... support your claim with a link and i'm sure everyone would get off your back.

  • You guys are all jerkoffs for caring who did a perticular part.

Thom would have a go at you for that. Just enjoy the music of the greatest band around.

  • I agree with codnose. why would you ever have this stupid argument. you don't deserve to be radiohead fans, go buy a fallout boy Cd or something.

  • my favourite radiohead song, this is just amazing

  • Oh! *reaches*

Why not me? *pats self on chest*

    lol

  • this is one of the mosts powerfulls radiohead`s song, amazing.

  • I very like this song!

  • is it me or can you never hear a damn thing ed's playing? its harsh.

  • i know man, you can 't hear him at all, it's sad. especially as his part on this track is fantastic

  • I think the sound was just kind of bad on this recording. You can't hear anything of Jonny's either.

  • Man, Ed's a really good, really underrated singer. I wonder why he doesn't do backing vocals on the new albums...

  • newsflash: Ed does do backing vocals on the new albums. who do you think sings those 'Aaaaaaa! Aaaaaa!' in Arpeggi? certainly not Thom.

  • wrong

  • if you think that's Thom's backing vocals on Arpeggi, you might wanna book your trip to an ear doctor now, keanordjenkis.

  • Nope. I wont. And still, you're wrong.

  • That's definitely Ed in Arpeggi (studio version). Even given the fact that Thom has done all of the vocals (lead/harmony) on studio recordings since Pablo Honey, it is still very obvious that that's Ed on Arpeggi. It's a different voice

  • Hey jerk off, I've been a Radiohead fan much longer than you have. Ed's vocals are on Arpeggi. It is Ed's fucking voice. You're an idiot.

  • Anybody with ears can tell it's Ed. . . honestly.

Other than that, I refuse to get into this argument, since either way I'm safe with my knowledge of who it is.

  • Or eyes, since you see him singing.

  • I agree with some of earlier comments, in that it does not have that almost demonic edge to it.

  • geez, they definitely had to work some bugs out for the album version. album version is waaaaaay better.

  • never heard this live before, i fucking love this song but thoms guitar sound almost makes it sound slightly rocky country lol

  • damnit i just cant stop watching this video....its so damn good!

  • i always imagined thom yorke singin this song really passionatley with both his hands on the microphone pulling real cool faces and screaming

  • man, i love this song

  • I love this song but in my opinion doesn´t work at list in this alive

  • is it just me or does anyone else give it 5 stars every single time they watch this video?

  • it's just you.

  • very funny

  • brilliant song. kinda reminds me of something the Beatles would write.

  • Why oh WHY is Johnny's guitar so low...

  • ermm...definitely not true.

it has more energy than anything on Ok Computer though..

  • than anything *else* on OK Computer is what i meant of course

  • the album version is way more high energy

  • gotta love that yellow raincoat

  • i like the screamy part near the end

  • ha this is great! its sounds like a country song! in the verse anyway. very cool

  • I think that this did the song justice. Thom is of course on point vocally. As for the guitar, you have to know what to listen for

  • look at that ass wiggling action. mmmmm :D

  • yet again, the soundman forgets that maybe the rest of the band should be as loud as the lead singer.

  • i want thoms' rain gear for oxegen next week, t'would be savage cabbage

  • Electioneering's studio version is far better than this.

  • duh, of course there's a lot more that you can do in the studio as opposed to a live performance, but a live performance has its own strengths. it's a different kind of energy. i absolutely love this. "bullshiieeeeet!! bullshiieeeeeet!! aaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!"

angry...frantic...it's great (the mix is a bit off though, but that's not the band's fault, the performance is fucken awesome)

  • I think it would have been better if Thom played electric guitar instead. One of the things I like about the original song is that it sounds like three electric guitars.

  • im on nicotin, valium, vicadin, marijuana, ecstasy and alkohol...co co co co co co cocaaain

  • That's from Rated R ''Feel Good Hit Of The Summer''. Not ''No One Knows''.

  • that song wins for dumbest piece of shit ever written

  • Don't evaluate Radiohead with this performance. Look up another version of Electioneering. This version is lacking big time.

  • you're lacking big time

  • more like your comment wins for the dumbest piece of shit ever written. have you actually payed attention to the lyrics? it's a very smart political song."riot shields, voodoo economics, it's just business, I trust I can rely on your vote"? in what universe is that dumb? and the harmonies echoing the lyrics "i go forwards, you go backwards, somewhere we will meet" are very artfully done.

  • but whatever, dude, surely ok computer is considered one of the greatest albums of all time by music fans and critics alike because it's made of the dumbest shit ever written. yeah, that makes sense.

  • sudajmahi, uh oh, i just realized that you were referring to Feel Good Hit of the Summer by Queens of the Stone Age as the dumbest piece of shit ever written, not Electioneering. i was misled by Radiohead420DJ's comment. sorry about the confusion. please accept my sincere apologies.

  • lmao. i bet you wish your opinions were vaild.

  • Nice version for the lyrics..."riot shields, voodoo economic, bulsshit bullshiit! the imf taking care of your business bullshit bulshit" great vid thanx a lot

  • I think I speak for everyone here when i say...I think we need more cowbell.

  • that song is very similar to "no oone knows" from the queens of the stone age...but its older, so the queens maybe have ripped it..

  • Dude this doesn't sound anything like No One Knows from QOTSA. Are you stoned? If so, I want an ounce of what you're on.

  • you cant hear jonny. thats the best part...

  • there's no music video for Electioneering, as far as i know

  • Nice! this was back when they first wrote it, so of course thats why it sounds more poppy then on OK Computer, love the ending "Turn it on, Turn it on" ...

  • which dickhead was the soundguy here lol

  • cool innit/?

  • This version is class, but would be much better if Jonny's guitar was louder.

  • I don't like how Johnny's guitar is so low volume-wise. It takes a lot away from this song. I thought this version sounded very...I get mixed feelings about it, it sounds like some bar band but then it sounds really good. Johnny's guitar needs to be way louder. Btw love the costume Thom.

  • The thing is, this was probably a prototype of the song. In actuality, the song has many different dynamics, instrumentation, intro, etc. During the recording sessions for OK Computer, Radiohead probably completed the song into what it was on the album. I like this version, but you can tell how low Jonny's guitar is in this mix, and the bass is unusually high compared to everything else. I guess it's not a problem, it just makes for a different interpretation of the song. It's cool, nonetheless.

  • This song is from OK Computer, which came out in 97, so they were most likey trying the song out. The intro was probably fine tuned in the studio!

  • the acoustic ruins this whole song for me. I love the intro on OKC

  • at 1:36 ed looks like he screwed up

  • nah. i think he's just getting into the groove.
