Yes the bible was written by men, men who were divinely inspired by God. The bible doesn't contain mistakes, it just contains guidelines that people who think humans know more than God despise. I don't have a personal battle with homosexuality, but there's tons of other things the bible forbids us from that my flesh battles with on a daily basis, I have to fight against those urges, not try to make myself believe the bible is wrong about them or try to justify my sin.
There have been plenty of self proclaimed gay men, who have realized they needed to cut the lust of the flesh, and have successfully when they realized it was NOT normal. This will never be discovered unless a true daily conversation with the Lord, takes place. No, Not just a religious encounter. There have been plenty of self proclaimed gay men, who have realized they needed to cut the lust of the flesh, and have successfully when they realized it was NOT normal. This will never be discovered unless a true daily conversation with the Lord, takes place. No, Not just a religious encounter. Oh, and before the forces of Faith converge, I should say, I don't really like Davis much. Not because he's gay, but because in watching that season of the Real World, I found him to be a shallow shit disturber!
He provoked fights, he inferred that he's better than other gays because he doesn't go out to the gay clubs, he seemed to have a fling with another guy, and seemed to discard him after they were done...and then seemed to lie about it until he had no choice but to admit it!

Of course the reality is that more modern Christian theologians have cleaned up the damnations in the Bible because if they continued to embrace everything Leviticus said, CHRISTIANITY WOULD BECOME A DEFUNCT, DYING RELIGION!!!

people use the old testament to justify alot of different dogmas.. they never really understand the point of the story.. Sodom & gomorrah were not destroyed for homosexuality.. it was their greed, lack of charity to others and assorted other spiritual sins.. they wanting to rape the "holy men" that came to Lot's home was an act of violence against those they saw as judgeing them, condemning them for their lifestyle..it had nothing to do with the whole city being "gay"

and the point i wanted to bring up is, "judge not lest you be judged" doesn't apply to peer accountability in the christ body. otherwise, nothing could be called sin and nobody would grow in their relationship with God. if someones an alcoholic, "don't judge me" hooker: "don't judge me" we can call out sin for what it is. but DON'T say "your terrible" bc every1 sins.

Actually, it doesn't say "practice homosexuality". The original Greek says "arsenkoitai" and no one knows what that word truly means. Also, I hope you're not divorced because Jesus actually discusses that and says that anyone who gets a divorce and remarries is committing adultery... Did god marry A&E? ...and if he didn't, does that mean they were sinners even before eating the forbidden fruit? ...and if the fruit made them want to cover their bodies, does that mean God intended us to go around naked all the time? How sad that people take this literally. It is a STORY meant to convey some thousands year old morality and explain things for which science at the time was incapable.

If what you say is true...then the Leviticus scripture would state "All mankind should not lay with mankind..." Meaning...no man or woman should lay with a man or a woman. When the word "Man" in the Bible is used it is towards all mankind. So, when they say man shall not lied down, or man should not be alone, or man should not covet thy neighbor's wife... it means to all mankind/humanity not to do it, not only about the gender male, but whole mankind.
