  • Thanks! :D Great cover.

  • dont worry i think you were great , check me out at llindsey1965

  • That was way cool....Thank you very much...I was having a little trouble with the C# to F# transition...but not anymore :)...Thank you for taking the time to post this

    Robert "Nicky" Cruz

  • @Apocryphilia Hi Nicky, I'm really glad you learned something from me... I dont think it's 'the original' way to play it exactly but it sounded close enough. I hope you have fun!! :) I also have a collab video I made of this same song on another channel. It is featured as the main video on my channel, you'll like it .

  • Good job. Try playing with your index and middle finger, instead of your thumb, All the pros do. Just sayin....

  • @Maginel73 everyone's different.. some players just use 1, 2 or even more fingers... some even use pics. I need to work on the fingering for the fretboard more first to get better at this

  • Great

    very good

  • nice you are amazeing send me the tab please

  • @spiderstributefall aw thank you! I would gladly send you tab but I played this one by ear.. I probably don't even play it the right way... but it's allI could figure out hehe. There is a better version on my channel - it's the featured video there on the top (a collab I did of the same song) and it is more close up so I don't know, maybe you can see better what I was doing. :)

  • hi i glad i find this cover.this my homework to my band.thanks a lot you save me.

  • I'm really glad!!! There is an even better version of this on my friend's channel... we did a collab -I have it as my main video on my channel if you wanna check it out! :)

  • you'll do great with this song! :)

  • So relaxing........ : ) Nice.

  • aww thank you.. I'm very happy it was relaxing for you. Playing music, especially lovely songs like this one relaxes me, too! I really love your username, btw! :)

  • Dude... Great job miss! u make it seem so easy!

  • Hi Pandabass :) Thanks a lot! This one is fairly easy it's just the timing but you'd do it really well I'm sure!! :)

  • nice job! really good.

  • thank you, osomarino7!! I'm glad you liked it!

  • Awesome. I liKed it , sounds cool

  • Thanks very much!! It's really one of the best instrumentals ever I think, and so fun to play

  • Are you kidding me!!

    Playing bass to sleepwalk?!!

And doing a grand job at that!!

    Fantastic..I'm stunned...you are great..thanks...

Who cares about the bad economy, as long as we can produce this talent!!

The downturn can't last much longer if she represents.

  • aww Thank you!! I'm glad you liked it and thought I did a good job - that is really lovely and nice of you to say! I have so much fun with music it brings me a lot of joy and I suppose I always hope that by reminding people of some really nice songs that they will think.. oh yeah I remember that song and smile :)

  • i wish i was this good i have a bass and guitar but im better at guitar bass is cooler

  • ohh thank you, Well you can do it... Something like this is really simple too. I bet you're better at bass than you think :)

I think bass is cool too

  • Wish you could play bass on it for me instead of me having to rely on midi sampling it would give it that needed punch, i'll have to try and tweet the controls somehow when I get round to recording it

  • lol aww thanks, well it would be cool to to collab with you. I'd have to record it listening with headphones or something.

  • If I sent you the backing track in WAv format without the lead guitar bit would that be ok or would you need the lead to follow the bass to record it to wav and send it me back to put lead on then I would credit you on the video at the end if this is possible at your end I've done this b4 its good fun

  • that would be great, I'd enjoy that too.. ok ill send you an email

  • Aye me too I read tab its easier and read the music for the timing that works for me I havent memorised the notes above and below the stave yet but am getting there slowly

  • Oh yeah it is easier for sure. Well that's good that you're learning the notes too!

  • Great tune this I am doing a cover version too of this when I have rehearsed it enough. Do you play by ear? or read music.

  • Hi John, thank you! I would love to hear you cover this beautiful song!! I play by ear sometimes and the rest of the time for bass I read tabs... I can't read music though, wish I could! :)

  • love it

  • thank you so much!! :)

  • Cool!

  • thank you! I think this is like the coolest instrumental ever

  • ***** I like that one, too.. Good taste, too.

  • Kewl Michelle! - DanWillldo85's version on guitar would be great mixed with your bass. I think you could do a Suzie Quattro thing. Like the tone on that Hofner and the player rocks. Hey...that's you!!!

    Dave

  • you know, I've lost count of how many times I've watched this!!

  • Really nice!!! And your Bass-playing, too ;-)

  • That was great Michelle! Your bass playing is sounding great and you picked a terrific classic instrumental with this song! Well done, I enjoyed it very much... FrAnK (★★★★★)

  • Beautiful Michelle, this song really opens a window deep in my heart for Ritchie Valens. When i was growing up and i saw La Bamba for the first time it had such a profound effect on me, really, really broke my heart and it remains my favourite film to this day. All of my friends in turn watched it and everyone felt such a sense of loss and maybe even a connection with the teenage Ritchie. Anyway, thanks for posting this wonderful song and allowing me to capture the sentiments of my youth.

  • where have you been love your music keep it up doll

  • My 50's sis is rockin' again!! This is my all time favorite instrumental!! fantastic job AS USUAL!!! you have immpecable taste in music and I admire all your talents!! I agree with the others it reminds me of La Bamba...great movie!! Thanks for posting sis.. Love ya!! your 50s sis!!!

  • Wow, you listen to Santo and Johnny? :)

BTW your bass is out of tune here with the recording... but good job anyway ;)

  • A classic indeed. I agree with retrobrunettebeauty. I can hear Ritchie's Mom crying out. :0) dB

  • aw michelle!!! cuuute! this song always reminds me of la bamba!

    *riiiiicccchiiie!*

  • If I played bass I'd have learnt this on first as it was made for bass. It's brilliant I love it. Good luck for the move in April...how exciting.

  • Oh yeah I have been wanting to learn this for a while but I could never find tabs and then I hadn't ever tried it by ear till the other day... and I see now that I made mistakes but it was close enough to be fun to play! :) Ohhh yes - it's very exciting for me... I've got my own little paradise finally wee hoo! :) Thanks Chris!

  • :) Thank you, Ed! lol about your bass... well, did you forget to adjust the amp levels or were you just trying to play chords on it? haha ;)

  • Complete awesome- one of my first songs I liked as a kid

  • thank you so much, Richy! Wow was it really? What a great memory to have heard it when it was new!

  • Yea, I was just a toe headed kid but my big brother and sister listened to this, Elvis, The Ventures, Hank Sr, Buddy Holly- you'd have loved it-had a tree house too-girls welcome......

  • Always loved that song, first hearing it in the film La Bamba. So sad. Nice bass playing!

  • Yes, it has a bittersweet feeling to it... having the connection to the tragedy when we lost those great musicians. That is a great movie, btw! Thanks a lot!

    rutlegirl...

Your delightful series of malt shop memories continues with this dreamy accompaniment to Santo and Johnny's beloved pedal stells classic. Gotta play this one on the old juke box now that you've inspired me with this breathtaking showcase. many thanks for sharing this delightful floorshow with us!

    Peace,

    Stewball (drinkin' soda pop)

  • Stewball, you must have the coolest jukebox around with all the beautiful songs you have in it :) It made my day knowing that you played this because of my video :)

    Many thanks my friend
