  • I'm guessing that the story on the cave wall was Manny's story. He used to have a family until the hunters killed his wife and baby :(

  • at 2:35 too sad :'(

  • This song is about tolerance and love. This should teach people, how not to act vengeful and help them understand that you can not blame everyone for a few's mistakes. If you have any chance to help, well that's your call..., but no one deserves suffering. That makes you more human.

  • oww! i like since 1:06 when is Manny touching the picture of his baby... cute scene >.<

  • 3:17.. holy fucking mother of god

  • starting from 2:30 ... really heart touching ... takes u through a journey of mistery

  • I wish i could play the piano.

  • from 2:30 till end .....just sat still....and felt it within me....

  • Okay, so I know that the paintings tell Manfred's past (or at least I think that's what it is), but I'm still unsure as to whether he was the father or the baby in the pictures. Can someone explain?

  • @Vampirepigslayrr he is the baby and the paintings show what humans did to his parents, however, he's struck because he sees a family, something he's always secretly wanted

  • @magicMOBILEgenie No, he was the father. All the focus of that scene is on him and what he has, if you look carefully you'll see that most of his main interactions on the cave walls seperate him (in focus, at least) from his family.

  • @magicMOBILEgenie

Manny was the father. Humans killed his wife and child. That is why he touches the picture of baby mammoth - it reminded him his lost son. And then he compared human baby with the picture and found that the baby also kind of resembles his son - then he hugs the baby with trunk.

In 2nd part he also says that his family is the reason why he is reluctant to take Ellie his mate.

  • @Vampirepigslayrr He was the father. All the focus of that scene is on him.

  • this song makes me cry so many tears. and i am a guy. that is how i know i am a human fucking being.

  • The music is so sad & beautiful! I cant stop crying! :`(

  • I have tears in my eyes :( Beautiful :)

  • What makes these movies so wonderful and magical is it's ability to touch you emotionally. Generally speaking we are able to enjoy and relate to a movie if it touches us emotionally like this movie did and still does.

  • I really wanna know the piano work at 00:57 - 02:30 !!!!!

  • 3:12 - 3:46 the most beautiful and expresie part of this work... i am crying... :´(

  • 1:05 beautiful...

  • 1 person is devoid of a soul.

  • Music is at it's best when it has no lyric, and you get to listen to many instruments play in accordance with each other.

  • What is the name of the music from 1:05 to 1:56 i love and i just can't seem to Find it anywhere but on this Vidio. Please Reply.

  • @lamintons This whole track is called Checking Out the Cave, including the part from 1:05 to 1:56.

  • The piano music made me have a flashback of my mom, who has passed away when I was very young... in the flashback I was little and I told her, "Mommy, I love you...When I grow up, I want to be with you forever...", then it flashed to the day she died, my grandma and my uncle walked in, and I asked "How's mom?", and my uncle said "Sammy, you're momma's gone..."

  • 3:25 - 3:30 :')

  • the paino from 1:06 to 1:54 made me cry

  • That moment... Was my favorite among the three movies reunited.

I just don't understand why they've dropped this drama, this... sadness, that was yet so well put in the first one, to make out of the second and third one empty comedies instead. I mean, the sequels were funny, no doubt, but nothing could even compare with the emotions felt in the first one. How could they drop the best aspect of these films and leave it forgotten? It's plain sad...

  • @elitadream

Well if you think about it, the little "herd" is set on looking on the bright side in hopes there's some sunshine in the future, you know? I mean, I don't think people would make it through if it was sad all through each movie. And there's been sad moments in the other movies. What about Ellie's story? I guess there wasn't much sadness in the third one...but that's okay. What's amazing is that they haven't screwed up any of the movies so far. :D

  • @elitadream Yeah, man.Family movies nowadays aren't even family movies.Their KIDS movies.Nowadays it's all about funny jokes every 5 seconds and not emotion.

  • i really want a video to watch where i can learn to play this! i cant find a how to video anywhere. please help

  • @bmjake

It's really easy to plink out on the piano.

  • "Look, the tigers are just playing tag with the antelope...with there teeth."

"Come on Sid, lets play tag. You're it!"

  • i like the way the theme shifts from courius to sad

  • This music is so sad but beautiful... T.T

  • The first movie will always be the best <3 I still cry at this scene, and I'm 18! Great film, great music :)

  • i love this piece...makes me wanna cry...it's so emotional!

  • I like the soundtrack of The cave Paintings. Its Sad..

  • This was very sad... =( the origins of Manny....

  • I LOVE this song. Especially the piano part that starts at 1.06. Do you know if there are music sheets for this song, and where i can find them? :-s

It's amaizing and i would really want to learn how to play it on piano :)

  • The cave part and the music makes me cry...It´s sooo sad :'(

  • I hate how the third movie ruined this part. Bcuz they made it seem like he was a new dad and didn't know wat he was doing, even Ray Ramano said he was acting like a new dad. I always thought he'd be on top of things and secure but nope...completely disregarded this scene as though it never happened. What about this "reading deeper" scene wasn't good enough to look back on and learn from? Oh, that's right, they wanted it to be ca comedy. WTF?

  • @TheCouragousGirl :

[Those who haven't seen the third movie stop reading. Minor Spoiler warning.]

Perhaps they didn't want to make it a comedy, yet undeniably they made Manny act in a strange way in the beginning, making him a bit ... clownish, perhaps?

On the contrary, though, later in the movie he can be seen being over-protective of Ellie. For example, remember the scenes Entry to Lost World, Flower of Death and the scene before Scrat and Scarette's Tango.

  • @TheCouragousGirl He WAS protective of Ellie...he was worrying about her almost the entire movie...

  • aww the cave part is sad :'( specially with that piano music on! :'(

  • I adore the little melody at 1:06

  • Diego is sexy on the cover

  • i cried late at this part, the music is just that powerful with emotions.

  • i would love to live in the ice age period 20000 years back then, inside a primitive cave... it would be cool

  • The 'cave paintings' scene is probably my favourite. The emotion captured as Manny's story unfolds is beautiful, no dialogue and it's still full of character development.

An instance of music and animation fitting one another to perfection. :)

  • @LostCharm I thought the cave paintings was sad. I watched it and about cried.

  • so lovely

its so crazy how a comedy can turn into sadness so fast, really sets me off balance

  • I love this part, it's so sad and beautiful.

    Makes me almost cry.

  • one of my favorite parts in the whole movie!!!! And the song is just touching! :)

  • This song is SO beautiful ;)

  • This part is sooo sad

You have to really look closely to understand what happened to Manny's family.

    Ugh.

This song makes me cry like a baby everytime

  • I had to watch the movie a few times before I finally got the meaning of what Manny was imagining on the wall.

  • SERIOUSLY? o_O

  • This is what makes Ice Age triology look great=not just funny, but touching movies.

  • best and saddest part of the film.. the music is so beautiful :(

  • this song always makes me cry!!! it's so amazing! =)

  • @frankomay how can it be gay? Did you even watched the movie?

  • im sory, i dont even remember what i commented, ice age is one of the funniest movies i have seen, this music is the part that the mammoth remembers his parents and how humans killed them right?? well, that part isn't funny at all

  • @frankomay you said "gay"

  • are you gay? do you feel attacked?

  • @frankomay Gay? Actually no. Attacked? WTF no. No one's attacking me.

  • @frankomay Its in all reailty, his mate and child :( I found the sight, but yes its a sad part :(

  • @Zipzap1313

really i thought Manny was the kid

  • You can really hear the similarities between this and Anastasia.

  • the most moving part of the movie, with the perfect soundtrack to match.

  • This part is very sad !! T__T

  • this track always makes me cry it reminds me when i first went away without my parents really quite emotianal

  • this part was so upsetting, this movie has a fantastic soundtrack, it was so emotive

  • I sought out the soundtrack just for this song.

  • hey you. Do you have this sountrack? If you have, could you send it do me? I can't find it any place...

  • look for it on youtube.

  • 1:30 - 1:55 One one the most sadest parts i've ever herd in a movie...

2:55 - .... i'm feeling the music way inside myself, like it's in my blood.

  • mir kommen auch grad die tränen...

  • Ich kann es mir nicht anhören ohne zu weinen.

    :(

  • aww, i love this track, especially the piano part i almost cried in the movie. *trying to play that part* its sad, because they did that to Elephants in Africa... so yeah.

  • The most saddest I've ever heard.

    I think I'm gonna cry

  • awesome.... little part (2:55 - 3:30) is very very beautiful

  • P.S Brings back memories of when i was young the sad part lol!

  • thankyou!

  • Woah, for part of the song, it sounded a bit like the Shawshank Redemption, and I'm not sure why. It's around the piano sad part, before the drums come in. Well, David and Thomas Newman are brothers, so go figure! :) I do find a few similarities between their works, although David does mainly comedies. Great score right here.

  • The part that comes up at 1:06 gets me all teary every time I hear it. The scene that comes up when that music plays also makes me cry. That was the first time I ever cried for an emotional part in a movie, and I was a little young at the time, like, around 10 or 11 years old, maybe, and I didn't understand why I was crying like that.

  • i would like some help: there is a song before this one in the cave, its not with the baby who slides on a ice slide.

you hear it just when they enter the cave( cave collapsis, sid hit a pice of ice) and then, with the evolution of sid, that song (symphony) i search, does anyone know it?

  • its called "walking through".

its been uploaded on youtube by the same person that uploaded this song. :D

  • thank very much, i was searching that song for mounths

  • @Artic3buster It's the one on the right --> called 'Walking through'. :)
