This is my second time seeing Phantom, first in Vancouver about 15 years ago, 2nd time a week ago at the Venetian in Las Vegas, and I have to say, So Awesome!!!! It was so intense, I had to fight tears the whole time, the singers, the orchestra, the set changes, were just amazing, truly beautiful, if you have a chance to see it before it finishes in September, do it! You won't be sorry!

@MrSpideybcc the hotel cant afford it rumor has it, The Venetian and The Palazzo are basically closing down all its shows (Jersey Boys and Blue Man Group) if you ask me i say get rid of the other shows so you don't have so much to work with and keep Phantom since the Theatre is specifically built for Phantom
this was the greatest thing i have ever seen the chandelier was the coolest thing ever holy god words cant describe the feeling you got when watching this chandelier was being pieced together.....AMAZING
Oh my god....I saw the show last night and my jaw was literally agape as I saw the chandelier being pieced together!!!! There are no words to describe the sheer awesomeness! It looked sooooo cool with the light affects and the pieces flying around in the air like that...I have to say much cooler than on Broadway or London where the chandelier simply flies slowly to the ceiling to be mounted.
I saw it one month ago. What should I say? That was typical American. Disney's Phantom of the Opera. Big bigger biggest. Most spectacular Phantom of the World. No, I definitely prefer the original European version! Less spectacle, but more quality and charme. But thx anyway for posting :-)
when i saw this... me and my mom literally got the best seats in the house. they were in the middle of the golden circle literally as in middle of the row on the middle of the section. and that was exactly under the chandelier. when the overture hit, i almost died and when it fell, i literally almost died. best memory of my life. this was the first time i saw the show and have loved it ever since. GO PHANTOM, AND LOVE NEVER DIES!!!!!
@PhantomPhan1332 IKR it amazing idcif itz in vegas i will walk there justt to see it omg itz so friggen amazing i luv the music nd the acting nd the pple nd omg jst the movie <3
I saw this is Vegas a dew nights ago and, my god, it truly was spectacular. When the chandelier begins to move I was positively in awe.
I hear a lot of people saying that this show pales in comparison to the original Broadway—and maybe it does—but I have never seen the Broadway show (only the film) and I thought it was positively fantastic. It's an expensive show, but it's worth every penny!
I saw the show at the Veneitian in Vegas last Thursday night, not a big fan of operas I was blown away, This is a must see in Vegas, its worth every penny! The music was Awesome, the theatrics were great, and it even had some humor in the show, A+++ from me! Can't wait to go see it again!

see pieces of show is to like to see it in real and i think this kind of video promoted the show actualy and this is exactly how i went to see so many shows from what i found on youtube...
The Chandelier Crash in Vegas is different than any any of the current shows or the Movie. The Chandelier comes straight down and the lights go out with it about 15 feet above the heads of the audience (I know I have sat right under it) and the there is the sound of the chandelier crashing and the auditorium rumbles. and it comes down pretty fast. Almost at free fall but it is under the control of the computer the whole time.
AMAZING!!!! just got back from Vegas and Phantom was one of the shows that we saw truly an unforgettable experience I wish I could get the whole thing they should make a whole video of it and sell it to the people who can go to Vegas, is something that everybody has to see!! thanks for uploading it.
I have seen this show on broadway many times, II understand that the vegas show is more modern...seeing this video of the cnadelier in multiple pieces amazes me...anyone see it on broadway and then vagas can you tell me how much of a differnce it is
Love PHANTOM? Don't want to a see a nonsensical sequel in which Raoul becomes a drunkard, Meg becomes a murderer, Christine becomes a slut and the Phantom becomes a composer of trashy vaudeville?
You're not alone.

I love this play! Everytime my family goes to Las Vegas I beg them to let me see Phantom again. I still can't get over how amazing the chandelier sequence is. The show is amazing itself and I think that no matter how many times you see the show you still have the same expierience as when you first saw it. Thanks for posting!
I went to see Phantom in Las Vegas for the second time for FREE. The awesome part was I sat in Side Orchestra the first time and this time was upgraded to Golden Circle and sat below the Chandelier. I was suprised when the chandelier fell really fast. I was so excited for the overture. Really great show!!! Want to see it again!
@titanicfinatic Actually, my great-uncle Stan works at the Venetian. One of the people who works at the Venetian's sister hotel, the Palazzo, gave him free tickets to any show in Venetian or Palazzo on a blackout date. So, yeah. But, if you have your parents or grandparents sign up for this exclusive membership (for free ;) ) called the Grazie, you MIGHT come by a Phantom ticket offer. ;)
Oh and remember when the guy comes out of the bottom of it while it's hanging in midair?! Sorry, i geek out over this show a LOT. Favorite part of the show besides Angel Of Music, even though this nearly made me wet my pants the first time I saw it :P
It is very scary when the chandelier falls. The Chandelier is bigger and the phantom hangs from it using only one arm during II muto. He yells : Bring down the chandelier when christine unmasks him after he blows his cover in Don Juan Triumphant. I dont understand who the phantom yells at when he yells :Bring down the chandelier! he cant make it crash coz hes on the stage. But then again the phantom is a type of magician. But if any1 may know who he yelled at can u let me know. Thanks!
I'd never seen Phantom live before I attended a showing at the Venetian for Spring break...gonna go again, taking Mom for her 50th, she loved it as did I :) Vegas did a quite smashing job with this production! Bravo! *claps*
did i enjoy it?!?! more like was a fidgety little kid waiting for the overture to start and smiling from ear to ear the whole time...minus crying at the end of course :P
@broadwayangel25 haha thats how i was when i went to go see this show....i got front row seats and i was too excited and fidgety from the overture to music of the night
My goodness. O_O I may be going to see this over Spring Break, due to the fact that the touring cast doesn't come to California anymore. It looks spectacular.
My friends and I wanted to see this when we were in Las Vegas, but now they have this law saying that kids under 18 can't go into casinos after 7 or something without an adult :( I was depressed for hours!!!! And then at around 8 I was like omg they are probably playing the overture now! *cries*
When I saw the show, they didn't raise the chandelier like that. Could anyone tell me why they don't do it like this video anymore? The curtains and the lights were what I saw, but it was amazing anyway. My heart was beating fast during the overture and I was like "WOW!!" It's my first musical ever!
The introduction to this Chandelier is much more elaborate than what Broadway performed, but one thing I missed from this model is the harp-like decor lined along the tiers (the figurines that resemble hair picks).
Yes, you are right. I was looking at the wrong portion of the Chandelier. In New York, they were placed along the rim of the middle tier, but now that you point them out, they are as bright as day. Thank you.
The Vegas chandelier was one of the only things I liked better than the original version. Truly spectacular. And I was almost underneath it when it dropped! Amazing!
Now, I have heard threw different arts and theatrical sources that the chandelier does drop very rapidly to evoke real authentic screams from the audience. How did you react when you saw this happen and did you see what happened to the chandelier in the next scene. Did it rise up again or was it moved the side in pieces?
Let's see... This was two years ago, so let me search my memory: Once it fell, the theater went dark for a few minutes. All you could see were a few lights and mayhem from the stage. If I remember correctly, they raise the chandelier up and tuck it away somewhere in the ceiling. I'm not sure. Because it's artistically dark, no one sees what happens to the chandelier. So awesome.
I saw this recently, about a couple of weeks ago. Just like you did, I didn't want to see this show at first because I had wanted to see Blue man show instead. However, the show was fantastic, and I never regret watching this show.
Going to see this show next month FOR SURE already, but I don't know the exact date. I'm seeing it on a Wednesday waith my friends and family. What a Spectacular! Love the chandelier!
I want to see the vegas show soooo bad! I love the chandelier. When I saw Phantom on tour, it was good, but the chandelier was SO slow I couldn't believe how slow it "fell" It was pretty pathetic lol.
no you are very right my friend. Indeed, the version in Las Vegas is rather based on the movie (2004). Then the music the dialogues, etc are from the movie. So don't be amazed if the msic sounds different from the original version
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think it is sad that you people cant follow the rules... Maybe just maybe you guys should just go see the show for yourselves and not online in little bits and pieces. I have seen the show multiple times and this doesnt even begin to show the best parts. This is so stupid that you guys have to illegally videotape a show. It would be so easy to get caught... if you tape something illegally then just keep it to yourself.
Look its just a personal opinion sorry you cant respect that.... I work for the Venetian now, which is where Phantom is performed every night, so I get the pleasure of catching people illegally recording this show. Sorry you cant grow up and be more mature than cussing at me.
Sorry you cant understand this is the way some people get to see ANYTHING from Broadway shows. I can afford to go see shows, but if you look at comments on other "illegal" video recording, sooo many people are happy they can see it on youtube, because someone just cant afford to blow away money on flying to vegas, and spending some crazy amount of money to see Phantom. Its not that easy for some to just "go to the show"
@BroadwayKidNamedJosh Broadway show tickets are much cheaper in the Fall. I went last fall to see Phantom and my ticket cost me $35 for the front of the balcony seats, amazing view of the whole stage and the off-stage action
I saw the vegas show in the summer. Before the shopw I was confused until I saw the pieces being pulled together. It was great. I wasn't right under it, but I was close.
well the chandelier in other vids are traveling shows,- so they are limited to sertant efects, But the vegas show was crated perposly for the phantom of the opera, so it wil stay permenatly.
and they chose some of the best actors in the U.S. and the chandelier drop is much faster and it nearly faalls on you lol
@NPrz95 It's pretty much the same, except here, the chandelier is ACTUALLY in pieces like the auctioner says, and they all join together as seen in this video. Also, instead of the chandelier crashing at the end of Act 1, it crashes at the end of The Point of No Return, just like in the movie. There are many other differences, but I don't know them...
I just moved to Vegas about 6 months ago. My wife and I went with her parents to the show and it was great! Since the show is only an hour and a half without an intermission, it seems rushed at the end. I want to go to New York and see it there. Much longer i have heard. Love how the chandelier goes up at the start of the show and then drops at the end. Really cool!
@hullingermichael Could you explain to me how exactly the chandelier crashes? Is it just like the 2004 film, where it swings on the stage on a zip line, or does is it crash like the London show? Also, do they reset it after it has crashed?
i just saw phantom in los angeles for the first time, and it was awesome, but in no way does it compare to vegas. i saw the vegas one twice and its the most amazing show ever!!! i can't wait to go back
THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING OPENING CHANDELIER SEQUENCE IVE EVER SEEN
i got to see this in person and its even more amazing )if you ca imagine that)
my family was lucky and got tickets literally right below the tip of the chandelier. When it dropped, me and the other guy sitting next to me who were directly underneath were like, WOW
@taxbabyapril Yeah! Same here! I knew what to expect when it "fell", but the people next to me screamed like Hell. Such an awesome beginning sequence! I love Phantom of the Opera!

no you are very right my friend. Indeed, the version in Las Vegas is rather based on the movie (2004). Then the music the dialogues, etc are from the movie. So don't be amazed if the msic sounds different from the original version

YES!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I think it is sad that you people cant follow the rules...

Sorry you cant grow up and be more mature than cussing at me.
wolfpanther88 2 years ago
Sorry you cant understand this is the way some people get to see ANYTHING from Broadway shows. I can afford to go see shows, but if you look at comments on other "illegal" video recording, sooo many people are happy they can see it on youtube, because someone just cant afford to blow away money on flying to vegas, and spending some crazy amount of money to see Phantom. Its not that easy for some to just "go to the show"
money for ticket + bad economy= no good. :/
BroadwayKidNamedJosh 2 years ago 35
That doesn't make it legal, does it?
import26 2 years ago
If you don't like it, don't watch the video. It's that simple. If you have such a problem, do something about it. Don't sit and whine on youtube.

@BroadwayKidNamedJosh Broadway show tickets are much cheaper in the Fall. I went last fall to see Phantom and my ticket cost me $35 for the front of the balcony seats, amazing view of the whole stage and the off-stage action

so much attitude from an usher, i bet when you are not catching people you are selling ice creams

How do they cover the chandilier?
clevm002 2 years ago
They just have some cloth over it that gets ripped off at the beginning like right before this viedo starts...

I saw the vegas show in the summer. Before the shopw I was confused until I saw the pieces being pulled together. It was great. I wasn't right under it, but I was close.

q: is the show different in Las Vegas? I am new to phantom, this was alot better than the last chandiler vid was!
NPrz95 3 years ago
Well it's like the original almost except they cutted several bits of the show. However, it makes up for the special effects and music.
GuyverFan95 3 years ago
well the chandelier in other vids are traveling shows,- so they are limited to sertant efects, But the vegas show was crated perposly for the phantom of the opera, so it wil stay permenatly.
and they chose some of the best actors in the U.S. and the chandelier drop is much faster and it nearly faalls on you lol
thecopykidofthestarz 3 years ago
thats really cool! That must me scary to see it fall!
NPrz95 3 years ago
yes it is and it just cuts to black when it reaches most its way down!
thecopykidofthestarz 3 years ago
@NPrz95 It's pretty much the same, except here, the chandelier is ACTUALLY in pieces like the auctioner says, and they all join together as seen in this video. Also, instead of the chandelier crashing at the end of Act 1, it crashes at the end of The Point of No Return, just like in the movie. There are many other differences, but I don't know them...

how exciting was the sound system during the overture? It's hard to tell from the video-I've heard mixed things about the sound.

Really cool!
hullingermichael 3 years ago
@hullingermichael Could you explain to me how exactly the chandelier crashes? Is it just like the 2004 film, where it swings on the stage on a zip line, or does is it crash like the London show? Also, do they reset it after it has crashed?

Do you have the full show??? I'll trade you!
