  • Great pics of 'the Morrisons'.

  • Bliss? Ecstasy? Ethereal? Totally indescribable, just listen.

  • Really beautifully distilled Morrison tune.

  • I love this song. It seems to me we get kinda of caught up in the rock side of the doors, the crazy side, perverted side, or drug side, whatever. The darker side. But this brings a whole new feeling. Of just pure love, man.

  • This song remembers me the meaning of life

  • was there anybody in?

  • one of my favorites. always.

  • This song is beautiful I love u Jim (:

I love you babe always & forever me & you tilll eternity till after life

Whenever I listen to this song,I think of my girl and I, holding hands and walking down Venice Beach!! Madly in love with each other This is ART AND BEAUTY IN IT'S PUREST FORM!!! MY FAV SONG BY THE DOORS!!! Other great art Unhappy girl, Your lost little girl, Winter time love, Blue Sunday, The spy, When the musics over, The crystal ship, and of course!!

  • que buena version!!!

  • This is on the CD of their first album as an extra. Nothing new here.

  • This is FANTASTIC!

  • rare pics. thanks.

  • at the london fog, on stage with van morrison. top !

  • I really love this song.Jim's vocals are so good on this one.

  • THIS IS MUSIC!

  • he is a shaman

  • The middle part reminds me of "Us and them" by Pink Floyd. It's curious!

  • @stefanobudicin Same key (D major) and obviously similar atmosphere.

  • Surely a musical treasure.

  • I love the doors Morrison will always be the one. This song can make me cry...

  • Btw, Indian Summer was about Mary Werbelow, Jim's first love ...not Pam.

  • This is beautiful....

  • Beautiful...

  • The voice of Jim trembles a lot, doesn't it??

  • "I love you the best, better then all the rest." Honest and true yet sad. Great lyrics!

  • Nice music,i listen almost 20 years to the doors time to time,

i never forget jim morisson and the doors.

His music and his soul will never die!

  • there's nothing like listening to this song and taking an Arizona siesta

  • this is soo beautiful, poetic, sweet. I adore this song always luvd and bn a favourite!! so gd to hear the original!!

  • I love how Jim does not sing "Indian summer" after "that I meet" like in the "Morrison hotel" version in the first chorus; you just listen to that beautiful sound the organ makes at the moment and it's so sad and poetic.

  • Far out this recording.Best Doors song I know

    tnx

  • This song was used in my wedding

  • @williamiwu Wow! must have been a very special moment, listening to this while watching your wife walk down to this song!! Awesome!

  • fantastic

  • I've never seen the photos of the famous "jim+van W/doors 'n them" last nite gig at the whisky... and you have 3 on the vid. Anyway I don't believe there's no recording of that moment. Just someone is waiting to pick it from a top hat and sell it for a huge amount. I bet 2016 will be the release year....

  • weird hearing his voice here and then compared to the changeling or LA woman

  • This is good stuff! yes the song is originally from 1966 and was suppose to be on the first album. it got shelved and was put on the 1970 Morrison Hotel.

  • @TheRobCicero - Cool, I never knew that. Its amazing that you can continue to learn new things about a band almost 45 years later! Then again, not all bands were The Doors.

  • oh wow! thanks for this video!

  • for my daughter:...may you always keep your artistic insight, never let the world blind you

  • yeah,,, you can hear people talking in the studio,,,,crazy,,,

  • hey uncaringgenius fyi, this is the only recording of this version. this was realeased on the newest box set of all their LPs, track 14 on the first alblum. Its off a demo in 1966 hence the sound. It was supposed to go on the first LP , but never made it

  • such a great song i only wish there would be an extended version.. but as always The Doors are the best Thank you Jim, Ray , Robbie, and John

  • I don't think I've heard the Morrison Hotel version, but I can personally say that I'll probably end up liking this version better. BTW this sounds like shit. Sounds like you recorded it from a bottle floating in the ocean.

  • such a dense vibe in what seemingly are simple lyrics. like frost, morrison knew how to evoke & feel up a landscape converting plain to something much deeper. whats so powerful about this is it was done at a time when morrison first found his inner eye converging w/ his voice. its as pure & uncontrived in honesty as he would ever get it. you can hear the arthur lee love influence also. but again, give jim his due, this is diamond in tone. alchemy of tribal, folk, cali cool nights by a fire.

  • This is so trippy that I just fell down.

  • Pretty poor quality, but hey! It has its charm, this ain't any fucking remaster :D

  • it looks more like a demo

  • is this a live recording??

  • the drums and the bass sounds like " the end "

  • AWESOME!!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!

  • i love this doors song absolutely amazing.......

  • lol sounds like the same version. just an older recording.

  • magnifica

  • The version you hear on morrison hotel was recorded during the 1st album sessions. I never heard this outtake before, i assume its a rehearsal during the same time they recorded the version we all know? Where did you find this?!

I never saw pictures of the 2 morrison's legendary gig at the whiskey before...

    Thanks man

  • my wife walked down the aisle to this beautiful doors song.

  • @sunkcontrol

    what a beautiful idea

  • @natyroberts84 i thought so,she walked back up 2 barcalona, being a liverpoll fan im well happy with that.

  • @sunkcontrol Thats pretty cool man! Im getting married soon and our "wedding walk" song is going to be "Not To Touch The Earth". By the way, do you still love your wife "better than all the rest"? wink wink.

  • @HateDisease now that did make me smile, say notthing lol.btw have a nice big day.

  • @HateDisease You're going to have the strangest wedding walk in history. Every cousin, niece an nephew will forever think you are both smoking hydrocryptochronic and that you're kooks besides. Please do not produce children.

  • @ajdicks Hahahahah! I agree.

  • yeah, it doesn't sound much diff. sounds like a bunch o niggas needs to sync around the moneymaker...

  • ahhh i love this song :)

  • THanks for posting this. Great love song by Jim, great guitar work by Robbie. Who plays bass on it? Ray with the vox?

  • Yea it's Ray..

  • trippy :)

  • nice song the doors forever

  • my husband sang me this song ^_^

    I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

  • I adore the drum pattern that John came up with for "Indian summer".

And Robbie's dreamy guitar line and Ray's hypnotic riff and Jim's soft voice and simple yet honest lyrics...

By the way,is it just me or can we actually hear people talking in the studio?LOL

  • you're perfectly right there were people in there

  • @celebrant9 awesomeness

  • like this version. the guitar is different. when was it released?

  • there's a cleaned up version (no distortion) tacked on the remastred 1st LP on compact disc...love how it has the same vibe as The End...probably the same session.

  • Q BUENA CANCIONNN!!

  • the doors will never die long lives jim

  • just by listening to this song you can tell jim was truely in love with pam

  • thanks for uploading this one, it's very pretty and magical....

  • so simple, but it had such a beautiful, mystic vibe to it. Just purely magical

  • RIP Jim and Pam! Love you both!!!

  • Such a simple song... But it's amazing!!

  • my fav band of all time. im pretty stoned and this song floats around my heart with a beautiful embrace. forever the doors.

  • @thatmetalguy85 Marijuana and this type music flows well together. I wonder if that means anything

  • @thatmetalguy85 That just happened to me. What a feeling!

  • So they redid the entire thing for Morrison Hotel? I remember reading John Densmore's autobiography where he claimed that they'd run out of songs, so after listening to their first demo they realized this sounded good enough for inclusion. Other people have claimed they kept the original '66 backing track but Jim redid the vocals in '69. Apparently neither of those is true, unless there's another early version.

  • this is the greatest psychedelic ever written jim morrison is in my heart till i die

  • una bellissima e dolce canzone d'amore

  • why do people that can see the other side ..die soo young

  • I like it. This version is good. I like it. Yum. Ooh. Um.. Yum.

  • my girlfriend like this tune and i like this tune

  • te iubesc geoff..mi-esti nisipul vamii..si jointul fericirii..

the life of the doors and jim morrison

  • como mola la cancion VIVA THE DOORS

  • Una delle mie canzoni preferite dei Doors... Tanti auguri Jim, dovunque tu sia... <3

  • Wow,shamanking022,thanks so much for posting this!!!

Where the hell did you find it though??!!?

It's one of my favourites by my favourite group in the whole world.

I think it's actually the first song they recorded as "The Doors",right?

Morrison's voice surely sounds immature...Anyway,great song!

  • Thanks whoever posted - I didn't realize it was pre-'67

  • and where did u get the pics from that performsnce in which other guys were singing?

    spectacular!

  • man that other guy is van morrison..

  • Beautiful, thank you!

  • man this is so insanely relaxing.

  • is everybody in!! XO

  • @AdoradorDelNeon jaja! buen mensaje

  • The ceremony is about to begin.

Coincido totalmente...

  • Ah, beautiful...

  • i love you the beeeest t.t

  • oh, how nice :)

  • i love the doors<3

    jim morrison

  • :))))))))))))))

  • jamas la habia escuchado

  • This version unlike Morrison Hotel, has a strong drummer, and (mayb its the production) but this sounds far more natural (hear the instruments overlap). Plus the background voices and Jim dosn't try so hard to croon. Lovely bit

  • well stated analysis.

  • Gracias!!!! que maravilla!

  • Sublime beauty.

  • very nice

    thanks

  • I actually do love Jim the best!

  • jim is better than all the rest

  • of course, he is the best, rest are jerks.

  • I personally know one of them, and he's no jerk.

  • Hey man awesome pics btw...no disrespect or anything but how is this one different from the morrison hotel?

  • listen to how jim sings it here and then listen to the morrison hotel version.... and the music is slightly different. So listen carefully to both

  • such great pictures i really like this song it makes my heart want to cave in on itself and thats what i love about the doors so much because it makes you feel like your just gone from what ever emontion you might be felling at that point

  • i love this song.. is for you my sweet girl i love you ....peace from argentina !

  • Thank you, Jim, for chilling the fuck out and letting your voice be the magnificent mellow instrument that it could be.

  • This is my favorite version of the song.

  • love with all my heart

  • i dedicated this song to my girl

  • Great song choice man!

  • @esteban578 your girl sleeps on my bed

  • wow, amazing song

  • It's true today as it was in 69 song so awesome.

  • lousy "studio" values, but the final version is shiverlngly beautiful in its simplicity.

  • TERRIBLE VERSIO ALTO TEMA .saludos de argentina pais rockero.

  • This is the most beautiful version of them all.

  • This version is a little bit rough but sounds really rich.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • the thing about this song is that it atualy sounds as if its from a classic bollywood movie dont believe me?see for your self lols
