Celebrities who go against the system get set up all the time. Heath ledger, christian slater, mel gibson, britney, m jackson, lindsay lohan, Jim carrey, 2pac, winehouse etc.. Its unnatural that he would pick a prostitute on the street that would likely have HIV, they have upper class prostitutes in hollywood, he's too smart I feel he was set up, yah he confirmed the issue but really because he knew there was no end to it. He's brave coming out like this he could loose his job, or even life
If it's wasn't in human nature to experiment in terms of relationships and sex life then no one would have affairs and everything would be perfect, its a stronger force than just will power its embedded in our minds as a sort of natural vice. What isn't in human nature is evil little tabloid journalists living on every ounce of a mans private life thinking that the public care. WE DON'T you're just making yourselves and the tabloids buying your cheap information look pathetic.
Incorrect, tabloid journalists 'living on every ounce of a man's private life' stems from the need of these people to hold onto their jobs, to advance their careers, and to continue to put food on the table. Therefore, their behaviour stems from the hardwired primordial human predilection with self-interest and perservation: survival.
So what they do is also a natural consequence of the collective human character, a force that is just as strong (if not stronger) than the desire to explore one's sexual/relationship options.
People sticking their nose in your private business when you're a celebrity and famous, it goes with the territory. People don't just want to know about your films (or whatever it is you do that made you famous), they want to know everything from who you're sleeping with to what you had for breakfast. People want to know these things and they will apparently pay money to read about it. Curiousity, after all, is another natural and powerful impulse in human nature.
So really, you can't blame people for seizing on the oportunity to satisfy that demand while making a buck at the same time. If you're in the public eye, living the high-life, enjoying the adoration of millions of people, and making tons of money in the process, that's the trade off. You lose privacy. It's a dog eat dog world out there, get used to it.
@usernimm You seem to think that being a nosey journalist is the only way to make a high buck. Implying that YOU are a nosey journalist. Either that or you're defending the assholes for no reason. It is possible to make money without irritating others to the extremes of suicide or restraining orders. I think you need to read some legal documents concerning the general rights to privacy which everyone has. Being famous doesn't make you a public display 24/7, everyone has rights believe it or not.
I never said being a 'nosy journalist' is the only way to make a living. I said that it is human nature for people to take an inordinate amount of interest in the lives of those in the public eye, and therefore there will be people who will attempt to profit from that public curiousity. No, I'm not a journalist, but that is the way humans are, and the way it is.
Being famous DOES put you on public display 24/7, I'm afraid. You become a commodity and everyone deals with you from the point of view of their own interests. Grow up and get over it, and if you're famous, try being a bit more discreet than picking up prostitutes in the street.
Is anyone could write me the "lyrics" of what he said please? Cause I'm french and I don't really understand what he says, but I'm sure that I would understand it if it were written. (Sorry for my very bad english..) thanks
Just imagine the money certain people spend to dig dirt up on people that are of no interest to anyone. If there is one thing we know how to do...it's waste money on stupid shit.
I care far less,if at all, what Hugh Grant gets up to in his private life & rather more about whether he's going to be value for money in a film! Having been caught with a prostitute's head in his lap is really no concern of mine, nor should it be any business of anyone else's,except save the woman he was with at the time.So I'd have to agree with what he says here.We have no right to every intimate detail of his private life.
Very wise man, give him a break/leave him alone you bastard tabloid

And yet it's the moral relativism that Grant and many other celebrities convey that has done so much to allow this gutter press to stoop so low.
