No its not competition at all i'm just saying that Metallica have had there day and it shows, Dream Theater are still making awesome music today with no signs of slacking at all. Thats what i meant skill wise DT are much better and i prefer most of their music. I saw them twice, once in Newcastle City Hall with Tomera and again in Manchester with Symphony X who were also phenomenal.

i watched perpetchmotel's drum video and he looks to be about 12-14, so i guess i could expect this from someone who hasn't quite matured, although when i was 14 (2 years ago) i was just as mature as i am now.
i love rush also and i do agree that they are the best trio band out there that i can think of, off the top of my head. personally, i like DT more...my opinion.

ok the riffs are really stuff Metallica invented just like Iron Maiden Invented Gallopping, but still, Labrie's voice ain't a bit like Hetfield :S Although Portnoy does backing vocals in this song alot and i don't know if Petrucci has a role in that too.

Well today, I just found out that album that my friend had given me was not ACTUALLY the real dream theaters album!! I went out and bought a REAL copy and its SOO amazing!! SUITS ME RIGHT FOR GETTING A CD FROM A FRIEND

Well today, I just found out that album that my friend had given me was not ACTUALLY the real dream theaters album!! I went out and bought a REAL copy and its SOO amazing!! SUITS ME RIGHT FOR GETTING A CD FROM A FRIEND

HOLY CRAP!!!!! I got this album from a friend and I listened to it and I said "This sucked ass" and he promptly agreed. A few months went on and I said it sucked to all my friends and they said I was on crack..

not really a metal fan but i cant write DT as anything less than super awesome!!! thier musicians are really good....expecially the drummer.....anyone who doesnt think this is good stuff really cant appriciate the technical difficullity of this song

clearly any retard who thinks DT is not a good band is an idiot. I understand that people may not like their sand and i appreciate that but unless you are really into music you cant truly appreciate how technical and difficult this bands music really is.
