Does anyone know the old Silly Wizard battle song where the lyrics "Come through the heather, around ye gather, you are to welcome him early...." or something like that?
I will always appreciate the tutorial on this song that you and Manus provided at Penn Cafe in Pittsburgh as we shifted your gear. t was hot night in more ways than one.
Andy spent his summers in Ireland growing up. I don't hear any thing different in his singing voice than we sings anything else. Obviously, an Irish song is going to lay out differently than a song by Burns or one from Andy's own pen.
I think I got him mixed up with another Andy Stewart.
Seems this one is still singing and drinking. But he sure looks awful here. Might get someone to pick his clothes out and make friends with the Lighting Director. He looks like a killer from a Slasher film here who just woke up from the back of the van.
Andy has an amazing voice, doing equally well with humorous tunes or emotional ballads. While the sound quality of this video doesn't do justice to his voice, it's great to see him (& Gerry) in a live performance. Thanks for posting this!!

It's a grand party every time...

You seem to be looking for "News from Moidart". You can find a (slightly pathetic) version by the Corries on YouTube.

He doesn't speak like that, he is copying the Irish, he's from Blairgowrie.
