Larry Cordle, the man who wrote this song...Ricky Skaggs made a name for himself with it, actually a HUGE hit for Ricky. IMHO if not for this guy, Ricky Skaggs would still be picking without the fame and fortune. This guy also wrote the HUGE hit " Murder on Music Row" made famous by George Strait and Alan Jackson...Ricky Skaggs was quoted as saying to Larry (they were neighbors when they were young) "son, I'm gonna record your songs if I make it big someday".
