Kandinsky was so open - minded that in his later years he used to hire Warner Bros. cartoons and have them projected (16mm) on a portable screen he rigged up.
He thought american cartoon music was wonderfully dinamic, and that it, and not only the cartoons were a great hommage to American confidence.
i remember going to the museum with my class when i was about 7. watching this video reminds me of how insanely fantastic i thought his paintings were... i tried to copy him haha i hope i can find those "paintings" somewhere in my basement!
@royalsteven oh, his intensive work and development and his last projects and compositions I love the most. Actually almost only his last paintings. But since I live in Munich, where he used to stay sometimes, I also love his works during the Blaue Reiter period. All his compositions from 1922 I do LOVE.
@royalsteven Bauhaus is very great. Personally I am more into colors and just love him for his spiritual love for colors. Wishing you a colorful life. Maybe we'll meet one day at one great exhibition.
AWESOME post. BEAUTIFUL and breath taking. LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Kandinsky. I'm in AWE every time I see kandinsky's work. The music for this post fits so well.
A great expressionist artist was Antonio Fuentes ( Tangiers, 1905 - 1995 ), member of L'Ecole de Paris, who depicts in his works the city of Tangiers.

Kandinsky started painting this abstrac artpieces when somebody working at his studio accidentally tipped over the artpiece that he was painting and put it upsidedown. When Kandinsky entered in his studio, he felt impacted noticing that images without any sense could be so dramatic.
@dada1492 Thanks for recommending "Concerning the Spiritual in Art." I looked it up to read, and it is fascinating stuff. - I don't know much about Art, but I find myself responding very powerfully to Kandinsky.
i had the privilege of viewing some of his works at a private residence
seeing his pieces is really phenomenal and can help you better understand his process....truly no one abstract artist will be able to hold up to the standards Kandinsky has set
thats mainly directed towards the more recent artists such as rothko...not saying anything bad about them but....come one...look at this guys work
Kandinsky analyses the geometrical elements which compose every painting, namely the point and the line, as well as the physical support and the material surface on which the artist draws or paints and which he calls the basic plan.
If anyone can post a link or give me an explaination of "on white 2" i would greatly appreciate it... i cant seem to find it but i love it and am planning on getting it tattooed.
The Bauhaus was an innovative architecture and art school whose objectives included the merging of plastic arts with applied arts, reflected in its teaching methods based on the theoretical and practical application of the plastic arts synthesis. Geometrical elements took on increasing importance in his teaching as well as in his painting, particularly circle, half-circle, the angle, straight lines and curves.
