This is quite possibly my favorite nocturne. His music helped to pull me out of a very dark night a couple of years ago. That crescendo at around 3:10 always brigs tears to my eyes.
Despite the apparent intent of the piece as indicated by the name, I am not initially reminded of any noctournal feeling. This is, however, because I once listened to this piece over and over during the late morning hours of a spring day. The feeling is somewhat bittersweet in a way. Kind of reminds me of wonderful times that will not return in their entirety. Thanks for posting this nearly forgotten old favorite.
How coincidental, for I once listened to this composition, this exact recording to be more accurate, in my car while I was taking a trip down memory lane, driving though my old neighborhood where I grew up.
It was quite emotional for me to replay in my head some of the happiest and most easy-going moments of my life, all the while this melancholic nocturne was playing in the background. It intensified a wistful feeling that I think we both share in regards to the effects of this piece.
We're going to have a lot of music to hear and discuss on the way to the lake this summer, let alone a countless number of interesting rocks to talk to.
Rocks. :) Tell me if you find a spearhead or something. I always thought this had a nocturnal feeling to me, unlike you. Huh. I'll probably remember this as your cousin does when I grow up, I guess.

This does give me sort of a dark, and mysterious tune though
