  • A thumbs up for you John!! Very nice sound with the whammy bar. I used to have a strat many years ago, but now I have a Les Paul. Peace2U, Alex

  • Nice chillaxed mellow playing .Sounds like a mix of SRV ,and Santana on a mellow day.

  • @porterhouse51972 - Thanks for listening, appreciate it - John

  • Hi, John ! Excellent video, sincerely. I suppose that, like in your other videos, you're performing almost all the instrument (perhaps not the Bass,or the drums, but almost all. Very well done, and I've found the sound of your guitar very good, with brilliant trebles. I really use to prefer the Fender sounds, it can be a Strat or a Telecaster, they are sounding in a way that I really love. And you've played this son very well. congratulations,my friend. Will write to you on your channel. BYE !

  • @lorenzino1 - On this one I am using a backing track, I just added the guitars to this one. I agree, I always prefer Fenders. I like single coil pickups but it depends on the music you are playing. Thanks my friend - John

  • sounds good John!

  • @topsclip2 - Thanks for listening - John

  • @Ajohn13 Hi John, to get it more clear to me: after recording the first step stereo, a question about the second step: did you change the a channel from the stereo to mono and copied that to left channel and then the same for right channel. OR did make the stereo mono and copied both to left and to the right channel And you used a rich delay did n't you?. I really love the sound (and also your smooth playing) and I am interested in the technic (ha hope my english is clear enough).

  • @topsclip2 John, thanks for your mail answer about this!

  • Great playin', John. I like your diversions from blues into major runs (jazz style), and then Modal . But who am I to analyse LOL. Seriously tho, this is first rate, ma man :) Give us more like this (an album full ?)

  • @jamiegtr2007 - Hi Jamie, sorry for this late reply. I just play. You know the guitar books are much too complicated to follow, ha. Have a great weekend - John

  • @Ajohn13 Agree, John.Playin, jammin etc (even if only with a backing track),much better than books

  • An honest music and guitar work that simply KING

  • @opitz68 - Thanks for watching, appreciate it - John

  • Hi John! I am very honored to have your song as a video response!! I think your sound is superb! Do you always pick with your fingers? Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • @cjoey39 - Hi Joey, please respond back with your video. I would be honored as well. Yes, I always do just play with my fingers. I use to use a guitar pick but I once stopped playing for around 10 years. I then started up on acoustic and just used my fingers for around 5 years. After that when I went to electric again, it felt awkward to use a pick. Whew, what a long drawn out explanation, ha. Sorry about that Joe. I could have just simply said "Yes" Heh, have a great day Joey

  • Very nice thoroughly enjoyable

  • Another Beaty.

    Really enjoyed this one.

Actually, I've started making one off, handcarved Whammy bars from Wysteria Wood,

fitted with a 6mm stainless stud. I have one on ebay at the moment which would look great on this guitar. Only £5.99 !!

  • @SONGSTICKS - I can't find it, what should I search for? The bar does not screw into this guitar though.

  • @SONGSTICKS - I found it, I see it screws in, the guitar I have is not a strat, its a Raven West, you can see them on E-Bay, the whammy just slips in, I doubt it would fit. Nice though, thanks.

  • @Ajohn13

    That's a shame.. ahh well.

I could do with finding a list of guitars that use a 6mm whammy bar thread to put on the listing.

The guitar I have it on in the picture is Washburn Maverick. Although I must admit, it does look a tad phalic !!

I went round a friends yesterday to sort his front garden out in exchange for fixing my studio pc.

He repairs mandolins & guitars and has a beautiful Hofner Committee I had a play on.. wow..what a bute of a guitar, nice slim neck & sounds gorgeous.

  • @SONGSTICKS - Ha, don't think play a phalic looking guitar would be too appealing to be seen with. The Hofner sounds nice. I have never played one.

  • great sound man!!

  • Nice licks and great tone!

  • Great spacious sound, thanks for sharing.

  • Sounds good. The backing track is kind of thin thou... and I would recomend using another distortion this one sounds very digital and you loose a lot of tone with something like that. I recomend Ibanez Tube Screamer or a Pro Co Rat.

  • hi john... great sound...awsome.. must have took lots of work recording.. but came out great good job...wouldnt mind if you posted a lesson on this video....

  • @stingray8213 - Thanks for the nice comment, I would post a lesson but I think its best for people to just listen and watch and then come up with their own methods. I just used major and minor scales. The sound is a combination of the Digitech Rp355 and then doing the mutli tracking on the guitar. Thanks for listening, I really appreciate it.
