We are just finding nano technology and you know what that means once we harnce that power are life span can probably reach another 75 years we will be living past 150 years of age or more so long distant travel won't seem so long
@elvisflorian what? firstly, your grammar and spelling sucks, secondly, what does nanotechnology have to do with increasing our life span? the way to do so is by pinpointing which genes have an effect on cell repair, hence eliminating cell repair systems from breaking down, which is the fundamental cause of death for all living things
@johnediamond without some kind of force field or ballistic armor you and your craft would vaporize ,even if a marble hit you.At high velocities you don't need explosives, check out electric railguns.
@elmotouchesme97 your really asking that? okaay 11 miles/s is fast to us right well imagine 11,000/s now thats REALLY fast and travelling at that speed constantly, theres gunna be a huge difference of when we get there
@VaiNoGaming no... if we travel exactly 1,000 time faster, it will take exactly 1,000th of the time to get there... say you want to travel 1000m at 50 m/s, it will take 20s, if you multiply the speed by 4, so 200 m/s, it will take exactly 1 quarter of the time, so 5 seconds... it's VERY basic mathematics. It should take 365 years at 11,000 miles/s...
The only way to get there is to travel faster than light (FTL) but the technology isn't there yet for that. At this rate it may take humans 1,000 years to develop that kind of technology and druing that time we might kill ourselves.

lol, those rich ppl doing tricks again, 1 if its a habitable planet, only rich can GO and live there, 2 before we got there, we would have dead due to nuclear war. so find a sustainable development method is the most important for Right Now!
@Furellus Yes, cause based on CIA data world NO.1 oil consuming country is --US, its 19,150,000bbl A DAY!! in space there is no friction, so i think in a few hundred years, we'll find a way to make objects travel at insane speeds via kinetic energy and momentum.
@SnakeStormTV It's true that there is no friction in space, but you have to remember it's going to be difficult to slow it down when we get there. So we can't do it with JUST a good boost to start us off because we will still need a lot of energy to slow us down once we get there.
73 years?! Thats nothing. I think they should send couples to gliese so that they can reproduce and their children, or even grandchildren would inhabit this new planet.
@Kramnodd9 well if we get to the speed of light time dilation happens. That is when time slows down the faster you move. So the people inside the ship would age less than actual time. And it wouldn't be likely for the species there to have that type of armor due to the fact they never need it
wait let me get this straight at 4:40 hmm if money is what is stopping us from doing grate things like developing this ship, then why don't we rise up and form a revolution world wide, because we got the power to eliminate something as a human specie together. and eliminate money right people
...well, be my guest. In other words, anyone can just say things like "hay guyz let's rise up like in that one movie amirite?" Convincing seven billion people, many of whom aren't looking at space, but rather looking for food, is the work of several lifetimes.
Destroy their eggs, poison their food supply, bury them alive in caves and burrows... remember, we're humans. We've have a lot of time to develop our destructive capability. As for traveling to the stars, the idea itself is fine, if not practical at this period in time. It depends on what kind of technologies we build up and how stretched we become for resources.
Wouldn't the gravity just kill you. Like a world with water is awesome and all, but I don't want to have to get Arnold Schwarzenegger muscles just to stand upright on the surface.
bro haven't you ever watched dragonball z? It'll be glorious. We'll rigorously train under 4x gravity, or whatever it is, and become supreme warriors. It worked for goku.
humans just like a virus they need to spread out all over and shit and pee and dirt as much as they can, the first things they would built when they arrive to that new planet is a bar and strip bar, after a week or so, when they bore recognize the new surface they start committee crimes for territories, properties and money, mankind are like shit, they have to be graved after the sun collapsed at itself
All this talk about the survival of the human race.... why don't we just colonise the Moon and Mars (maybe even terraform it), as well as the other planet's moons in the Solar System? Why do we have to leave the Solar System at all? Even when the Sun expands, we can still be out its reach...
@kramnodd9 Because it's better to find a planet that's already got all of the requirements for life, instead of spending unimaginable money terraforming an entire planet.
What about the unimaginable amount of money that it would take to build a spaceship that could reach this new planet within a human lifetime? Even going at 11,000 miles per second, it would take 350 years to reach Gliese. That's fucking stupid. The very idea of travelling to the stars is stupid. They're too far away.
I bet if this world stopped all its fucking wars and worked together for once in our lifetimes we would be able to get there in atleast alot less then what we will get close to now
@ratchet524 Haah! "evaporate" haha that's funny.Black Holes are a Center of gravity.which are formed at the last stage of a star cycle.when those stars become a super nova, they're likely to explode and form a "Black Hole".
also, black holes have ins and outs, they do lead to somewhere.
Don't talk out of your ass buddy your answer sounded like a 6 years old kid respond.
@mike47912 Hey,i don’t care if you think you know astronomy better than me,but you´re an idiot by thinking anyone can just enter in a blackhole and get in another place alive, thats unthinkable.
@MrAmericanzombie search for "what would happen if you get close to black hole" on youtube and understand that the giant black holes won't kill you...they will suck you in and shoot you to the other side...
i have put enough time into "Astronomy" related things to the point that ill argue about it.
We should make a impuls engine...i think its the best idea to get there fast....and this what is even better we can make a lot of atomic bombs because we can use Hydrogen Bombs and we have got a lot of water on the planet...we can get there fast but problem is how tell popultion ...Hey we are making more atomic bombs than on cold war and we use them as fuel.
@TheBaldchipmunk its there....20 light years is nothing on the galactic scale. All the fuk'd up stars and planets are from the older systems that formed waaaaaay in the begginning. I have reason to believe if this planet has been visted, its from those earlier systems. They've definitely had enough time to figure it out!
because as you approach the speed of light, Lorentz contraction makes the distance appear shorter. 73 years for those on the ship, longer for those back home.
@bdleitner80 well then make sure they are some women in that ship so we can pass along that mission the children they'll give birth of. That make sense but it'll require a tremendous sacrifice for those who will live their entire life in that ship never living in this world and never seeing the next one but only to make history. now that's how a heroic move. I will do it only if there's playstation and DirectTv in that ship. lol
@omfgitswilliam because the ship's speed is only theoretical as based upon Voyager's speed, the laws of physics state that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, which until recently was widely considered indisputable, until of course the experiment at Cern in which they observed nutrino's that traveled faster than light. This has yet to be confirmed but it does peak intrest in the possiblity of manking building a ship capable of the kind of speed mentioned in this video.
i can get there in six hours, if they build a space ship that can travel over 100 trillion miles per second , they can get there and back! 20 light years , ok 1 light year is trillion miles hmm we will be there in five mins
Of course... The money again... We have more than enough resources to build such a ship without any money! The first step into building such a ship would be to give up the monetary system altogether and the human kind to actually grow up! We can't reach the stars if we wage wars on who's god is better! We must change our way of thinking completely!
@danielbluesmoke totally agree on the war part and our way of thinking. But who'll give their entire time and resources for free unless the engineers are already rich enough to build such ship without worrying about their bills.
@juniorfrench You don't understand... It's not about free work, it's not about the bills, it's that the money is an obstacle in what we can do! Monetary system must be eliminated altogether! Think about this: How many times you wanted to do something really cool and creative and you didn't had the money to do it and you gave up? Yes! That's what I'm talking about... If you ever played StarCraft, than you know that the only limit in growth is the resourses. That's called Resource Based Economy!
@juniorfrench A Resource Based Economy is the next level in human evolution! That's why the Zeitgeist Movement, Venus Project and the Free World Charter are promoting a RBE! Of course, it will be hard to make the transition, but it is the only way to get to really explore space and to reach stars! If we go on with the current system, the cost of exploring stars will be way to great, and no one will do it! And it's not about exploring... It's about survival!!!
@danielbluesmoke You have right, What if we would give all the cars in the world to NASA and other space programs, it may sound strange but we are wasting oil, releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere because of cars. And we can actually use the train, plane, bicycle and other such vehicles. We are more lazy with cars, using them in unnecessarily moments in our lives. It could be a good idea ;), what do you think? :)
Wrong, the Fastest man-made creation in existence is no satellite or Voyager piece of equipment, but is the Laser. In the near future we will advance technologically & lean to use the light spectrum to travel or transport matter or we may just consider developing & using Tesla's technologies & simply use the Ether to travel. Going to point A from point B in a tangible current context is a waste of "time" to even consider. Technological Singularity will bring MANY answers with the 6th paradigm.
Society that made it? Something like that would take global contribution in a scale we have never seen before. The US alone with its engineers would not be able to build something like that. It takes a lot of minds to achieve that feat
350 THOUSAND years!? We aren't going anywhere for thousands of years. It's kind of shocking the realization of just how isolated we are, how alone, we can't even go to Mars now and it'll be hundreds of years before man can step on other planets in our solar system, we are totally alone. Makes all those scifi movies and and the star sciences kind of pointless, but hey a man can dream...
@Vitruviux I think one day will find other civilizations but that won't happen in our life time or our grandchildren's as you said it could take thousands of years. it's kinda sad.
@Baronstone Yes, that's another point, we get to Mars... so what? It's just a big round ball of rock, it'll be centuries, maybe even a millennium before we get actually get to a planet that harbours life, if ever.
wow.... if that were to actually happe, and we moved to Gliese, imagine the posibilitys of were we could go ext, what we would see, what we could do. :3
I would be a 93 year old trasmitting from there...Im down for the job if u need me lol...buiild a robot and send the robot and a baby....the robot teches the baby and then the baby will report back....he will survive 73 years ....or better send a family theyll teach each other whts earths mission ...
How does one even communicate back to Earth if he was to go on such a Spacecraft ? No one would be returning back for sure so the one that would get to travel to other planets would be the only lucky ones to experience a new Alien Star system :o
I would bet that aging is cured before anyone *actually builds* an interstellar spacecraft, and without the constraint of the incredibly short natural human lifespan as an Anchor when thinking about time frames, 73 years is NOTHING.
@4B0MINATI0N There's an easy way to find out. I weigh 140 lbs, and if I strapped an additional 140lbs to my person, I'd still be able to move around just fine. The bigger problem would be that dizzy feeling you get when you stand up suddenly(from effects of 1g on blood in the brain); it'd be twice as bad.
That planet is actually an outpost of the Mizar civilization which is in the Big Dipper. And Mizar doesn't like humans, they're just keeping on them in case they try to escape from earth.
How about....we put FOUR Duracell batteries in our engines this time round?
I mean, I had a torch that lasted 5 months on just one, and that was found behind the fridge! Imagine the power we could use from four!........It's the future, my friends.
While neutron stars are the smallest known stars in the universe having enormous gravity, imagine a golf ball weighing as much as a skyscraper, it will suck other thing too than.
It may create a white dwarf or a neutron star, a neutron star is a little smaller than our earth but contains the matter as the sun, it will suck other stars matter, it has a limit so in the end it will explode creating a nebula or a pulsar, a pulsar is the last remaining core of a star which is the most rapidly spinning object in the universe, revolving at a high speed creating lights that are sent in the universe like a lighthouse, and these lights are radioactive.
There's just one thing that you just contradicts your own sentence, you said at the beginning that it has a red star, which obviously is bad if anyone has noticed and had learned astronomy here in the comment section -_-, red star are mainly stars which are red super-giants which use there whole energy to expand and expand, later it may explode into a supernova creating a neutron star or a black hole, you may obviously know what is a black hole but the neutron star is no less.
So we can successfully conclude that travelling through space is not an option.. Alright people so now lets start bending it, tear it apart, rip holes in it and create massive wormholes that can instantly transport a planet size object gazillions of light years away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Republicans will never vote for The budget required to have mankind accomplish such a amazing feat. Unless..... They found oil on Glise. lol but really We need people with vision and courage to lead us on our ultimate destiny. no more of this petty war shit, no more of this petty profit shit. no more of this petty Inequality shit. Rise up and inherit the universe mankind I know you can do this.
@doggets It's not only Republicans many other governments won't support it. Cause it's to costly. But either way, I would not humans on that planet. Why would we turn it into another Earth. So we can nuke it again?
Then they invented inertial zoom, a gyro of gyrating gyro's and just put you wherever you can see, you deploy a much smaller model and come back down to scale once on the moon, your mom could have bought that.
@5:10 "if they built it there would be little payback and the society that built it would never see it again." Just hit up Obama, he'll write a check for that. And now that you mention it, that sounds like the Bank Bail out money any how, never going to see that again, and no payback on that one!!
I think we will need to scrap the concept of money and division if we want to be a space faring species. Also , We will need to behave ourselves otherwise it is going to be galactic war all over the places. .

because as you approach the speed of light, Lorentz contraction makes the distance appear shorter. 73 years for those on the ship, longer for those back home.
bdleitner80 3 weeks ago
@bdleitner80 well then make sure they are some women in that ship so we can pass along that mission the children they'll give birth of. That make sense but it'll require a tremendous sacrifice for those who will live their entire life in that ship never living in this world and never seeing the next one but only to make history. now that's how a heroic move. I will do it only if there's playstation and DirectTv in that ship. lol
juniorfrench 3 weeks ago
Hey, if light gets there in 120 years, how does the ship get there in 73?
omfgitswilliam 3 weeks ago

JESUSANDALBERT4LIFE 3 weeks ago
My god, we have to take care of our planet and the all life in it!!!
nicopsico 3 weeks ago
Of course... The money again... We have more than enough resources to build such a ship without any money! The first step into building such a ship would be to give up the monetary system altogether and the human kind to actually grow up! We can't reach the stars if we wage wars on who's god is better! We must change our way of thinking completely!
danielbluesmoke 4 weeks ago
@danielbluesmoke totally agree on the war part and our way of thinking. But who'll give their entire time and resources for free unless the engineers are already rich enough to build such ship without worrying about their bills.
juniorfrench 3 weeks ago
@juniorfrench You don't understand... It's not about free work, it's not about the bills, it's that the money is an obstacle in what we can do! Monetary system must be eliminated altogether! Think about this: How many times you wanted to do something really cool and creative and you didn't had the money to do it and you gave up? Yes! That's what I'm talking about... If you ever played StarCraft, than you know that the only limit in growth is the resourses. That's called Resource Based Economy!
danielbluesmoke 3 weeks ago
@juniorfrench A Resource Based Economy is the next level in human evolution! That's why the Zeitgeist Movement, Venus Project and the Free World Charter are promoting a RBE! Of course, it will be hard to make the transition, but it is the only way to get to really explore space and to reach stars! If we go on with the current system, the cost of exploring stars will be way to great, and no one will do it! And it's not about exploring... It's about survival!!!
danielbluesmoke 3 weeks ago
@danielbluesmoke You have right, What if we would give all the cars in the world to NASA and other space programs, it may sound strange but we are wasting oil, releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere because of cars. And we can actually use the train, plane, bicycle and other such vehicles. We are more lazy with cars, using them in unnecessarily moments in our lives. It could be a good idea ;), what do you think? :)
Dont wanna say this but Thumbs up if you agree
Destilatioon 3 weeks ago
Wrong, the Fastest man-made creation in existence is no satellite or Voyager piece of equipment, but is the Laser. In the near future we will advance technologically & lean to use the light spectrum to travel or transport matter or we may just consider developing & using Tesla's technologies & simply use the Ether to travel. Going to point A from point B in a tangible current context is a waste of "time" to even consider. Technological Singularity will bring MANY answers with the 6th paradigm.

Astronomers in the Gliese system are saying the same stuff about Mars.
gnortznitz 1 month ago
Society that made it? Something like that would take global contribution in a scale we have never seen before. The US alone with its engineers would not be able to build something like that. It takes a lot of minds to achieve that feat
mralanv 1 month ago
350 THOUSAND years!? We aren't going anywhere for thousands of years. It's kind of shocking the realization of just how isolated we are, how alone, we can't even go to Mars now and it'll be hundreds of years before man can step on other planets in our solar system, we are totally alone. Makes all those scifi movies and and the star sciences kind of pointless, but hey a man can dream...
Vitruviux 1 month ago
@Vitruviux I think one day will find other civilizations but that won't happen in our life time or our grandchildren's as you said it could take thousands of years. it's kinda sad.
mralanv 1 month ago
@Vitruviux Thats not true, we could go to mars within a year or so. The problem is, what the heck do we do when we get there?
Baronstone 1 month ago
@Baronstone Yes, that's another point, we get to Mars... so what? It's just a big round ball of rock, it'll be centuries, maybe even a millennium before we get actually get to a planet that harbours life, if ever.
Vitruviux 1 month ago
@Baronstone That's too obvious. We want go pack to Earth. Mars sucks even more than moon. Only yerks wants to live in space.

While neutron stars are the smallest known stars in the universe having enormous gravity, imagine a golf ball weighing as much as a skyscraper, it will suck other thing too than.
Saif714 1 month ago
It may create a white dwarf or a neutron star, a neutron star is a little smaller than our earth but contains the matter as the sun, it will suck other stars matter, it has a limit so in the end it will explode creating a nebula or a pulsar, a pulsar is the last remaining core of a star which is the most rapidly spinning object in the universe, revolving at a high speed creating lights that are sent in the universe like a lighthouse, and these lights are radioactive.
Saif714 1 month ago
