Not true. In real life, drivers who race these cars power-shift, you just have to match revs. Admittedly, though, the game does not model gearbox damage.

Thanks a lot, Woot.  iRacing has stolen me away for the moment but I expect to revisit GTR2 and I know Brno so maybe I'll do it in the Lambo... I'll be sure to keep you posted and thanks again for the kind words.

Absolutely love the tutorials. Its helps that you explain things for the average racer, so they have an understanding of how a "hot lap" is driven.

Don't suppose you could do a couple of laps at Brno in a GT Car.

you're not heal/toeing or revmatching downshifts? Are you on arcade mode? If not, you're tail would have spun out by now. Nice tutorial, very informative.

Oh please, Arcade mode? Give me some credit. Full Sim mode as mentioned in the vid. Not heel-and-toeing but blipping on downshift to match revs. And if you *really* know the car you can match revs on the downshift (even into 2nd or 1st) without too much feathering the throttle. "Arcade mode". Ay.
