  • Where is this exactly? Thanks...

  • @Skoobypoo

    crosswind effect

  • There trained for this stuff

  • That is pure criminal negligence, endangering people's lives in order to keep a schedule in order to maximize profit

  • this is not schoking there is no special thing happening in this video

  • THAT... is truly scary as hell.

  • Meanwhile in Soviet Russia...

  • I would say the Pilot is damn good...

  • i remember when this was on the news here in germany... crazy shit

  • Definitely should have been scratched long before the plane even touched ground. That much skewing? No way.

Fucking lucky they could thrust up and out of that. They looked to be almost out of runway.

  • Should have never attempted to land with the strength of those crosswinds

  • @TheXYGene totally agree....i know i would have let out a little dooty..then once landed..would tahe SLH950 advice n go get me a lotto ticket!!

  • TOGA please!!!!

  • "please use caution when removing bags from the over-head compartment as contents have defiantly shifted during the flight, but mostly on landing."

  • Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captin speaking, you are now free to shit your pants.

  • Its not time for the jokes guys. If you were on that plane, i bet you d shit ur pants big time! Thanks to the experienced pilots and maybe God the passengers are ok!

    That was scary!

  • New underware for everyone!

  • drift plane

  • I remember this when everybody got off this flight they all smelt like shit!

  • @shahzebamin Fact : Only for military applications, it's a myth otherwise. My friend is a pilot and he's nearly blind. You need 2 pairs of glasses, or 6 pairs of contact lenses. (At least in Canada)

  • WAIVE OFF Fuuuuuccccckkkkkk

  • he was lucky his wing cud have easily hit the runway,i think he aborted too late

he was nearly sideways as he was about to touchdown.

  • @nahim55 that is normally ok. it will damn near self correct on the ground.

  • The shop in the airport selling underwear made a huge profit that day for some reason.

  • Why the hell was that guy trying to land that on a crosswind runway in the first place? Somebody better have had their ass handed to them!!

  • @atariforever2002 Same reason truck drivers drive so hard... there is a schedule to keep and folks don't like hearing about reasons for being late. Most landings are in a crosswind of some kind. This was an extreme case, however you don't see plane parts all over the place, so it can be done safely. These pilots train for just such events and this pilot learned well. Go around, let a couple flights behind you land (they have schedules too) and go at it again. Miss it again, head to alternate.

  • I had to watch an ad for this?

  • I think a good pilot would have trimmed it out and stuck the landing...

  • I bet you everyone in there shitted themselves just a little lol

  • Woman's... Luckily there was a man pilot too

  • someone on that plane better have bought that pilot a damn beer...

  • I would have shit!

  • salut to the pilot! what a pro!

  • if I was there they' own me a new pair of underware

  • Pilot: NYEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • dude...

  • Pilot should have gone around instead he chose to put everyones live in danger.

  • @SlayerOfLies planes land in crosswinds all the time. Is he supposed to just fly on to the next major airport?

  • @TheJJluv123 A 'Go Around' is aviation talk for going around and trying again. Typicaly done when the cross winds are to strong, as the wind is constantly changing the plane may fair better on the next attempt.

  • i've heard it was the CoPilot

  • @CaRa9273 Yes, u´re right. It´s in Germany(Hamburg). On this day was a big Storm over Germany.

  • i was on that plane

  • I would've shit myself if I was in that plane

  • "I wonder if u know how thay live in tokyo....if u see me than it mean u have to go...."

  • That pilot was a beast and should have aborted that landing. I would have been asking for the parachutes, damn another attempt.

  • And that my friends, is how you drift a plane

  • and now put in some drifting sounds =P

  • this is a famous wing strike video.... no laughing matter here.

  • what was the environment inside the plane?

  • @wajikhan1 After this attempt, while the plane went around to get back in line to land, this was heard over the intercom: "Ladies and gentlemen, the pilot has authorized everyone on board a free shot of whiskey as a way of saying "We're sorry, your landing has been delayed temporarily." Also, please stop crowding the lavatories. Thank you for dying with... I mean.. flying with us... !!! ... huh huh.... "

  • That's a win for the Pilot.. great job!

  • I think its time to open the other runway...

  • Fuck that so hard

  • "this is your pilot speaking, spare Pampers are located below your seat."

  • Great pilot, dumb camera man, close call on that left wing tip on grounding.

  • no se mataron de pedo

  • Oh yeahhhhhhhhh im want to see some dead bodies!

  • F#@k that Ill walk!

  • That some damn good flying to pull out of that. They were already committed to the landing.

  • haha i bet they shit themselves XD

  • why the hell would you even attempt such a thing.....

  • jesus....christ

  • This is the runway 23 in Hamburg Airport, look my Crosswind videos on this runway!

  • HEY!! I was on that plane.. fucking fun duuudee

  • at :39 everyone on that plane was like SH||||||||TTTTT!!!!

  • u wouldn't believe it .. That was a Lufthansa flight and the pilot in command was female.. I have a friend their who told me that the pilot was shaken by the experience but recovered and was back in the cockpit in just a few days.

  • @baherhosni

I wonder why they landed there. Now all airplanes even have microburst detectors and something like this (heavy crosswind) should have been avoided without any excuse.

If the pilot was shaken, imagine the passengers!!

  • @ncheriyan I would definitely agree with you about the passengers part. But crosswind landing is generally a common thing. It is simply the way to land when wind is crossing the runway. It only becomes that hard when it is coupled with a sudden wind sheer or an abrupt change of wind speed on very short final.

  • @baherhosni

I know what you mean. Most big airplanes have wind shear or microburst detectors. I have taken flying lessons in a Piper and Cessna and crosswind is not that hard. I check the windsock and ofcourse listen to the weather report.

  • @ncheriyan

How many hours do you have in an A320? A crosswind in an A320 is a bit different than a crosswind in a Piper or Cessna. I'd bet they attempted to land regardless of whether the crosswind was out of limits, based on the sharp crab angle, resulting failed attempt and left wing scrape before initiating a go-around.

  • @CorpsPlaneFlyer

I never flew a turbine or widebody but the point I was trying to make is if I take risk management with a small airplane seriously, then an ATP commanding a multimillion dollar plane which is much harder to maneuver than a piper or cessna single engine, and that too with 100s of lives onboard, shouldn't take this kind of risk.

  • @ncheriyan

Completely agree with you. The crosswind is either within limits or its not. If not, divert to another field or enter holding.

  • @CorpsPlaneFlyer

Exactly mate! My CFI always stresses the importance of staying within the plane's handling limits...incl crosswind. I am not a pro pilot...just a beginner hobbyist but I am very risk-averse...hopefully complacency will never hit me to be sorry later on.

  • Chuck Norris flew that plane.

  • I reckon that pilot was playing chicken with the crosswind, because even the approach looked dangerous. Shoulda called a go-around long before. Luck saved them, not pilot skill.

  • I bet the pilot was like ffffffffuuuuuuuuuu

  • Pilot should be awarded medals. Then again they shouldve just speed up and again earlier

  • Que buen piloto

  • War in den Nachrichten....

    schon länger her...

  • simply incredible...the pilot got skillzzzz!

  • Such a great pilot

  • airdrift

  • ladding at the crosswinds are very dangerouse especially if your flying a Tail Dragger because I've tried landing the tail dragger plane such as a piper Cube and I've spined out and fliped over and I blow the wings apart.

  • @sideslide23 I agree with you, grand theft auto is pretty awsome.

  • @JackD124 It was actually FS2004 which I played.

  • @sideslide23 flight simulator, right?

  • @JackD124 yes

  • @sideslide23 werd

  • Wow, close call. Abort came a little late but will forward video to my uncle who's a pilot of 25 yra

  • Pilot in training

  • passenger 1: "I never knew planes could do drifts like cars do!"

Pilot over P.A: "Excuse me ladies and gentlemen.........AAAAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!..................phew, that was close....look! a bushy thing with green leaves is getting bigger infront of the plane!

  • pilot "Alright folks, lets try this again!"

  • he must be one proud pilot kudos.

  • great pilot

  • 10 dollars says that every one one that plane pissed there pant then shited them selfs :p

  • @assassindarkraiXX 10 bucks says i almost did just watching the damn thing, i wouldve died on that plane reguardless if we landed safely or not!

  • Phooey, that airport should have been closed, with hurricane winds like that.

  • @easyeagle2 should have been closed but doesn't mean they will close it.

  • The pilot did do well to remain in control and prevent a disaster, but if I was to pass any judgement (as a non professional pilot), I'd question whether he should've aborted some seconds before he did.

Personally, I would've called "Go Around" at 0:36 - the aircraft clearly isn't under sufficient control

  • @AlexKitch stfu.

  • @AlexKitch He possibly did, but with reaction time and inertia of a commercial aircraft, at that sink rate it can't go back up in time methinks

  • That was sick!

  • everyone on that plane should have bought a lotto ticket that day

  • I bet that pilot got one mother fucker of a raise. Since he only makes like 16k a year rofl

  • Nasty crosswind. The pilot did well to hold it together and abort the landing.

  • Been there. Done that! He nearly killed everyone. The maneuver is called side slipping. It's a normal landing procedure for cross winds. I call what he did "pilot error" He did the maneuver wrong.

  • 

  • It did not "nearly overturn" the plane.

  • That was a Damn Good Pilot. Damn Good!!!!!!!!

  • Excessive crosswind for landing, I´d say. Probably should not even have been cleared for that runway.

  • I think he underestimated the situation. Seems he thought that he could pull the plane straight before touchdown, but the wind catched him. If he would let the plane's main gear on the ground, and put some weight on it, I think he would have made it.. Nevertheless, good save!

  • damn that man knows what hes doin

  • THAT TAKES SKILLS!!! AND BALLS!!! LOL

  • Ditto..... Good pilot.

  • crazy bastards shud be shot!! Saw a near miss between small aircraft and small ansett 4 engined plane Scarerriest thing i ever saw happended in christchurch new zealand feb 11 1999 And was over city centre near fitsgrearald ave and hereford st

  • Yeah, such good pilots that they obviously knew they SHOULD NOT HAVE TRIED LANDING THE DAMN THING AT THE MOMENT ANYWAY.

  • The approach seemed ok. The pilot was not at fault, and it was valid to attempt the landing. Maybe a huge gust of wind came along, and the pilot was a little slow to react? either way, good save.

  • @whisman2007 please stfu

  • A320

  • Wow! Good pilots ;)
